Ange Postecoglou has broken his silence on the speculation surrounding his future at Tottenham Hotspur, and the Australian didn’t hold back as he fronted the press ahead of Thursday’s crunch Europa League tie.
It is very clear that Ange Postecoglou has had a tough second spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
According to recent reports, the Tottenham boss is under intense pressure to deliver silverware to N17, as his remaining time in the dugout hangs on it.
With Tottenham fumbling in the league, positioned 14th, and out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, their only shot at securing silverware lies in the Europa League.
This Thursday, they are set to face their toughest test yet, as third-placed Eintracht Frankfurt visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou addresses job speculation ahead of Europa League clash
Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to the media ahead of Thursday’s clash and now he has addressed speculation about his job at Tottenham.
The Australian remains unfazed, insisting that he remains focused on rejuvenating a squad that was in disarray when he took charge.

He told football.london: “I came to this club with a clear purpose of rejuvenating a squad that was coming to the end of a cycle. Whatever noise there is, now or in the future, that shouldn’t diminish that desire. Everything in my professional life has come through a struggle.”
Of course, earlier in the season, before Spurs’ campaign took a turn for the worse, Postecoglou stated a fact – that usually in his second season at clubs, he wins things.
Postecoglou has since doubled down on those second season trophy claims. With a must-win game on the horizon, he’ll need to start delivering on that promise.
Tottenham fans divided over Ange Postecoglou as pressure builds
While Postecoglou, in his early spell at Tottenham, brought back a bit of the feel-good factor to north London, that feeling has been slowly deteriorating.
Fans are gradually starting to turn on him bit by bit, particularly after Postecoglou’s cupping of the ear incident and Ange’s rather naive claim of underestimating Tottenham’s involvement in the Europa League.
All hope is not lost though for Ange, as a deep run in the Europa League and ending Spurs’ 17-year-long trophy drought would more or less see him enter the good books of fans once again. Plus, let’s not kid ourselves, that is the only way to rejuvenate this football club.
