Aston Villa are gearing up for a transfer battle with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur as both clubs express interest in one of the Dutch league's finest prospects.
Malik Tillman of PSV Eindhoven has been setting the Eredivisie alight this season, notching eight goals and four assists in all competitions which has seen some of Europe's elite clubs begin to circle.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Deutschland has reported that concrete enquiries into the USA international have arisen, with Villa and Spurs both keen.
Tillman is said to be keen on a Premier League move and at just 22 years old has the potential for Unai Emery to mould him into a prolific figure for Villa should they pounce on his availability.
Formerly of German club Bayern Munich, Tillman reportedly has a release clause in his contract worth between €30-€40 million which comes into action next summer. His old club hold both a buy-back clause and matching rights, however it is reported that the Bavarian giants are not currently interested in enacting his return.
Utilised also in attacking midfield, Tillman could be a valuable squad member with the Villa boss able to develop him into a complete attacker.
Should a tempting offer arrive for either one of Ollie Watkins or Jhon Duran this coming January transfer window or the summer following, the German-born American could be a perfect young replacement.
