Crystal Palace know what a successful January transfer window looks like.

The Eagles made two very shrewd additions 12 months ago when bringing Adam Wharton and Daniel Munoz to Selhurst Park in the Winter window – both of whom played key roles as Oliver Glasner eventually led Crystal Palace to 10th in the Premier League.

This season saw the south Londoners make a slow start, going eight Premier League games without victory until securing a 1-0 win over Tottenham at the end of October.

Crystal Palace now sit a bit more comfortably with 20 points in 19 games to put them 15th – although with only five points separating the Eagles from the relegation zone, talks have already began to make a reinforcement in Nicolo Fagioli.

A story from Tuttosport now states that Crystal Palace have opened talks to sign the Italy international from Juventus.

The Italian news outlet believe Juventus are willing to sell Fagioli for €20m (£16.6m) this month after he fell down the pecking order under Thiago Motta – with West Ham and Fulham also interested.

So far this season, the Juventus No.21 has only made five Serie A starts out of a possible 18 as Khephren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli and Teun Koopmeiners are preferred.

Tuttosport add that Fagioli would consider leaving for another club on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, although this does not interest Juventus, who would prefer an outright sale this month.

West Ham and Fulham are not the only sides interested in the 23-year-old along with Crystal Palace.

TBR Football understand Tottenham are also monitoring Fagioli after hearing that Juventus are willing to sell – while Manchester City are alert to the situation too, having lost Rodri to a serious knee injury.

Furthermore, Aston Villa are admirers of Fagioli as well.

A fee of just £16.6m for a promising Italy international represents an attractive proposition for Premier League sides this Winter – hence the widespread interest – so it would be a surprise if nobody offered that sum to Juventus this month.
