Ange Postecoglou is likely to remain in charge of Tottenham Hotspur as long as they are in the Europa League, according to Fabrizio Romano writing in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter.
Spurs advanced to the semi-finals of the competition with a victory against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night, setting up a tie against Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt.
Tottenham's 'Focus' Remains on the Europa League
Ange Postecoglou is safe for now
Rumours have swirled recently that Tottenham are beginning to look at a succession plan should they decide to part ways with Postecoglou either soon or at the end of the season, with Romano writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT column last month that Bournemouth's Andoni Iraola, Fulham's Marco Silva and Inter Milan's Simone Inzaghi are just some of the managers they appreciate.
This week, separate GIVEMESPORT sources have actually suggested that Iraola could commit his future to the Cherries rather than leaving the south coast outfit this summer.
However, Romano said at that time that it would depend on how Spurs performed in the Europa League - despite their struggles in the Premier League - with Postecoglou picking up a huge result for his future as they followed up their 1-1 home leg draw with Frankfurt by beating them 1-0 in Germany this week to advance to the final four.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham Hotspur have lost 17 of their 32 Premier League matches this season.
Asked whether Postecoglou will now likely be in charge at Spurs for the rest of the season, Romano reiterated in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter:
'As I always said, the focus is on the Europa League, so this was always the case [that Postecoglou will be in charge while they are still in the competition].'
Romano: 'Keep Eye On' Marco Silva for Tottenham
The Fulham boss has impressed this season
Following the reports that Iraola could stay at Bournemouth, Romano told GIVEMESPORT that Tottenham fans should keep an eye on Silva, who appears to be high up on Daniel Levy's list.
Fulham have enjoyed a brilliant Premier League season and could go eighth should they beat Chelsea in the west London derby on Sunday, which has led to the Portuguese manager getting admiring glances from elsewhere.
While Postecoglou's future may still depend on Europa League success, it is clear that Tottenham have names in mind to replace the Australian should he be sacked in the coming weeks.
