Fulham boss Marco Silva is emerging as a front-runner to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur after the season, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has revealed.

The Portuguese manager is seen as a more viable option for Spurs this summer than Andoni Iraola, whom Bournemouth are hopeful of persuading to commit to a new contract.

Fulham are reportedly bracing for a battle to keep Silva beyond the current Premier League campaign, with multiple clubs across Europe and England believed to be monitoring the ex-Watford boss.

The 47-year-old has a release clause of around £8m in his contract, which runs until June 2026.

According to Crook, Fulham would like to tie Silva down to a new long-term deal, but the Portuguese manager is not rushing into committing his future at Craven Cottage.

The ‘genius’ 47-year-old, who joined Fulham in 2021, is leading the West London side towards a second Premier League top-10 finish in three seasons and into contention for a European place.

The Cottagers are sitting ninth in the table with six games to play and are six points behind Aston Villa in seventh.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Silva has won 82 of his 178 games in charge of Fulham, averaging 1.58 points per match.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are in a much more concerning position as they are on course to finish outside the top 10 for the first time since 2007/08. Postecoglou’s side are currently 15th in the league, just two points above West Ham in 17th.

A 15th-place finish would mark Spurs’ worst league result since the 1993/94 season and place Postecoglou’s future under even more scrutiny.

Tottenham face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, before taking on Nottingham Forest on Monday.
