JOSE MOURINHO has allegedly identified Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as one of his first Fenerbahce transfer targets.
And he is ready to battle their bitter rivals Galatasaray for his signature.
The Danish international midfielder, 28, joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2020.
He was signed by Mourinho and was regular under the Portuguese coach but has struggled for regular action since Ange Postecoglou took over.
Hojbjerg was set to go to Atletico Madrid last summer after Spurs accepted a £30m bid.
However, that deal collapsed after he was unable to agree personal terms.
Postecoglou kept him in the squad this term, but mostly his 36 appearances were restricted to being from the bench.
Tottenham are looking to raise funds by offloading some talent over the summer window and the former Bayern Munich ace is one of those available.
Now Turkish outlet Takvim has claimed that both Istanbul clubs want the Dane.
It had emerged earlier in the week that Hojbjerg was allegedly “top of the list presented by Mourinho” to the Fenerbahce board regarding transfer targets.

It is widely-believed that the prospect of reuniting with Mourinho could also appeal to the star.
But now he faces a fight to land him.
This update states that Galatasaray are ready to battle all the way with their fierce neighbours to land the experienced ace.
However, both clubs also face competition for his signature from elsewhere.
Other reports have also claimed that Hojbjerg also has interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
He only has one year remaining on his contract in North London and Spurs are desperate to avoid losing him for nothing in 12 months time.
Hojbjerg, meanwhile, is currently preparing for Euro 2024 action with his country.
Denmark face Slovenia in their first group match on Sunday before taking on England four days later.
They will then hope to secure a spot in the knockouts when they play Serbia in their final group match on Tuesday 25 June.
