Manchester United are set for a busy end to the transfer window, with the deadline on Monday approaching fast.

The Red Devils have made a fresh signing so far in the form of left-back Patrick Dorgu, from Serie A side Lecce. His move to Manchester is set to be finalised over the weekend but Ruben Amorim will still be keen to strengthen in attacking areas before the deadline.

United won 2-0 against Romanian side FCSB in their last game in the Europa League, booking themselves a place in the round of 16 of the competition - and avoiding a play-off spot. They will face either AZ Alkmaar, Midtjylland, Real Sociedad, or Galatasaray in the next round.

Amorim will be hopeful that United can further strengthen their squad before Monday, although they may have to sell a £70m attacker in order to comply with PSR rules.

Man United could make late swoop for Spurs target

United have been linked this month to Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel, who is set to leave the Bundesliga side due to his lack of game time under Vincent Kompany.

Tel has been competing for minutes on the pitch with Harry Kane, meaning that he has not got the game time that he would’ve liked this season.

United are reportedly keen on making a late January swoop for the Frenchman, although he looks like he could be on the way to London instead. According to Florian Plettenberg on X, United have contacted Bayern regarding a loan deal for Tel, but need to buy some time as they will need a departure to comply with PSR.

Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race to sign Tel, as reports have suggested that Spurs have agreed a £50.2m fee with Bayern for the 19-year-old after it was claimed that the Bayern striker had his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

United may now have to make a late move for the Frenchman, as they aim to land an attacker that can add much-needed pace, and goals to Amorim’s attack.

United may have to sell Garnacho to fund Tel transfer

Alejandro Garnacho has been linked with a move away this month, as United aim to make ‘pure profit’ on him, to boost their position in regards to PSR. The winger has been linked to Serie A side Napoli and Premier League rivals Chelsea with a move still possible by the end of the window.

According to The Boot Room, United want in excess of £70m from Chelsea if they were to sign Garnacho, and it is believed that the Blues could be likely to meet that price late in the January window.

The report says that United are refusing to rule out a sale of Garnacho to Chelsea, as it would mean that they would be free to make a new attacker signing such as Tel, should he not go to Tottenham before United can make a move.
