Manchester United have included young goalkeepers Elyh Harrison and William Murdock in first-team training ahead of their trip to face Tottenham in the Premier League this weekend.
United are back in action when they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with head coach Ruben Amorim faced with a bizarre injury crisis. Andre Onana kept his place in goal for the FA Cup fourth round win over Leicester City last Friday night, but senior duo Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton both missed the match due to injury.
It meant academy goalkeeper Hubert Graczyk was named on the substitutes bench for the very first time since he joined from Arsenal last year. The 21-year-old previously featured in pre-match warm-ups against Arsenal and Southampton before he finally made a matchday squad for the first time.
Graczyk is well-regarded in the academy set-up but he is effectively the seventh-choice goalkeeper at senior level and only featured due to a bizarre injury crisis. Bayindir and Heaton were both injured, while fourth-choice Radek Vitek is currently on loan at FC Blau-Weiß Linz.
Fifth-choice Elyh Harrison was cup-tied for the clash from his loan spell with Chester FC earlier in the season and sixth-choice Dermot Mee was also ruled out due to injury. It saw seventh-choice Graczyk named on the bench, with eighth-choice Murdock involved in the pre-match warm-up. Murdock, 17, joined United's academy in 2023 and has been a regular for the Under-18s this season. The teenager has started twice in the FA Youth Cup and will hope to feature again when they host Chelsea in the competition on Wednesday night.
United will hope to have either Bayindir or Heaton available for the weekend trip to face Tottenham, with Harrison likely to be named as part of their travelling squad. Although he is cup-tied for the remainder of the FA Cup campaign, there are no issues with him being named in a Premier League squad.
