Mikey Moore made history in our 3-0 win over Elfsborg on Thursday night, becoming the youngest English goalscorer in major European competition history.

At 17 years and 172 days, Mikey’s solo strike broke the record set by none other than the legendary Jimmy Greaves all the way back in 1957.

Greavsie’s record, from his goal for the London XI in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, has stood for almost 70 years until our number 47 notched his first professional goal.

Having been denied on a number of occasions across the night, and been frustrated in front of goal since his return to action at the turn of the year, the youngster was not to be denied by the Swedes.

Battling until the end, Mikey showed his strength to shrug off a defender before running towards goal and firing in from the edge of the area.

London-born Mikey has made 15 appearances for the Club since making his first team bow in May against Manchester City.

Dane Scarlett and Damola Ajayi also scored their first goals for the Club in Thursday’s win.
