Tottenham Hotspur have adapted a transfer strategy to land highly acclaimed young players in the academy at Hotspur Way as Daniel Levy looks to create a pipeline of talent that can feed the first team. This transfer strategy has seen the Lilywhites sign multiple high-ceiling talents at White Hart Lane as the staff at N17, followed by Ange Postecoglou, looks to nurture them into their potential.
The transfer policy has seen the club being linked to an ample of young players from around Europe and beyond, and recently highly rated starlet Michael Noonan trialed at Hotspur Way as the Lilywhites have a close look at him. However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal that Manchester City are in advanced talks to land the 16-year-old striker from St. Patricks, with Noonan keen on the transfer.
Spurs lose Noonan to Manchester City
And John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, claims that the player did trial at Spurs, who are set to lose the race to attain his signatures. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham acknowledged how Spurs were keeping an eye on his development.

He said:
“I know that Noonan was on trial at Hotspur Way this summer. He can’t move until he turns 18. However, he was obviously a long-term target for the club if they invited him over for a week and gave him a full kit and everything.
“They definitely would have been keen to continue monitoring his development.”
While Michael Noonan is set to move to Manchester City, Ange Postecoglou’s side have already pivoted to another player as they look to land Noonan’s St Patricks teammate Mason Melia, who is expected to move to White Hart Lane in January 2026 after the club made a “big-money” offer to land the striker.
