Tottenham will be aiming to strengthen their squad depth in the summer after what has been a season full of injury problems under Ange Postecoglou.

With the likes of Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Heung-Min Son and Richarlison missing time, it means that Postecoglou has had a tough time picking his starting XI’s this season in attack.

They signed Mathys Tel in the January transfer window, but seeing as his deal is only a loan move, with an option to buy, he may not be around next season. So Spurs have begun to show interest in several attackers, including a Premier League attacker, who has become an England star.

Tottenham target Eberechi Eze open to move

Tottenham were previously linked with Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze in the last summer transfer window, alongside the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, but no clubs made a move for the 26-year-old.

Eze has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Palace this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists for Oliver Glasner’s side. However, he could be on the move in the summer.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham are the team most interested in Eze, as he reportedly likes the idea of leaving Palace but staying in London. The attacker was born in the capital and began his football career at QPR before moving to Selhurst Park.

Eze has a £68 million release clause much like last summer, but the report says that Spurs, alongside Man United and Napoli, are keen to sign the attacker, but at a value of £50 million.

There is a chance however that the attacker stays at Selhurst Park as his contract isn’t due to expire until June 2027. Furthermore, Glasner’s side are progressing well, and are now one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League, which could tempt Eze to stay.

Chelsea and Arsenal had previously been linked to signing Eze, but they’re both reportedly not interested in the 26-year-old any more, which puts Spurs into the driving seat for any potential deal for him.

Eze could replace 172-goal Spurs legend

Heung-Min Son’s contract at Tottenham is due to expire in June 2026, so the club will want to decide on the 32-year-old’s future this summer, as they won’t want him to leave for free.

Reports have suggested this week that instead of extending Son’s deal at Spurs, the club could sell him and sign Eze as his long-term replacement, a move that would make sense as they play similar roles.

Eze can play as a winger, or an attacking midfielder, which is much like Son’s role in the team. Furthermore, the England international will have experience playing with the likes of Dominic Solanke and James Maddison through the national team.

If Tottenham were to sell Son, they would likely have to find the extra funds to buy Eze to replace him. According to Transfermarkt, Son is valued at around £31 million, and with his contract expiring and age increasing, his value is only set to decline in the coming months.
