Richarlsion has ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, throwing a potential spanner in the works of Tottenham's transfer plans.

Selling the Brazilian is key to Spurs’ plans to land a new centre-forward before the end of the transfer window.

The north London club had hoped to sell him to Saudi Arabia for around £60million.

However, it seems that Richarlison is not too keen on heading to the Saudi Pro League.

In an interview with ESPN Brazil, the 27-year-old said: “The money is big, but my dreams are bigger.”

He added: "An offer has arrived, but my dream of playing for the Brazilian national team and the Premier League is louder. It’s decided.”

Journalist Joao Castelo-Branco, who conducted the interview, added that Richarlison is happy at Spurs.

Tottenham are interested in signing Ivan Toney or Dominic Solanke but Richarlison is contracted to the club until 2027 and under no obligation to leave.

talkSPORT understands Al-Ahli were willing to meet the club's £60m valuation of Richarlison, who arrived from Everton for a similar fee in 2022.

Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract and Bournemouth are determined not to sell for any less.

Meanwhile, Brentford are under increasing pressure to offload Toney, who has less than a year left on his contract.

It is thought the Bees are willing to listen to offers around £50m.

Richarlison struggled desperately during his first season at Spurs, scoring once in 27 Premier League games, before improving after the arrival of manager Ange Postecoglou.

The former Watford man bagged 11 goals in the top-flight last season and admitted he had been struggling with mental health problems.

Tottenham are keen to add a 20-goal-a-season striker to Postecoglou's project following the departure of Harry Kane in 2023.

Both Solanke and Toney have shown they can hit those heights in recent seasons.

Ex-Watford captain Troy Deeney recently argued Toney would be the perfect signing for Spurs.

“I think Solanke works better at somewhere like Arsenal where he has to be on the end of something,” Deeney told talkSPORT.

“If you’re going to spend £65million which is the reported fee, I would expect them [Tottenham] to go for Toney, if they can get him.

“Test the water with Brentford and leave the offer on the table for a week.”
