‘Is that 12?’ – Tottenham fans lose count as another key player suffers hamstring injury

Tottenham fans were left counting the cost of a seemingly never-ending absentee list with Yves Bissouma now sidelined by injury.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have been ravaged by injury this season, in particular, to their back line with first choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven both sidelined since November.

The pair joined goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Brennan Johnson, Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Rodrigo Bentancur in the treatment room.

Also unavailable to Postecoglou are Timo Werner, Fraser Forster and Wilson Odobert.

With an already threadbare squad to choose from, Postecoglou has been dealt a further blow with the news that Bissouma has suffered a hamstring strain.

The midfielder has undergone tests to discover the extent of the injury and Spurs are currently awaiting the scan results.

The club’s medical team are hopeful that the injury is not a serious one and Bissouma can be available for selection in two to three weeks.

But that's done nothing to appease the Spurs fan with one feeling miffed at the lengthy injury list which shows no sign of shrinking.

“That’s 12 out now right? I have actually legitimately lost count,” the fan wrote.

Another added: “This has to be down to the training methods.”

A third wrote: “Just can’t believe our luck, not sure about getting any new players, at least bring back the loaned.”

While a fourth fan joked: “Does this actually surprise anyone? I’m waiting for the medical team to pull a hamstring running the pitch to care for a player. Best bring my boots for the weekend at this rate."

Critically for Spurs, of the 12 injured players, at least eight would be likely starters in Postecoglou's starting XI.

Much has been made of the Australian tactician’s intense style of football and high-octane approach to training and many believe his methods correlate with Tottenham’s ongoing injury crisis.

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock says Postecoglou’s style means Spurs must have a big enough squad to regularly rotate their stars.

"There has got to be a bit of an understanding of their injuries,” Warnock told Sky Sports. “With a fully fit squad, they are a very good team, however if you're going to continue playing this way, then you're going to continue to get injuries. And that's the problem.

"I just think, from the way Spurs play, they either need four top, top quality centre-backs who they can rotate to continue to play that way. Then they need two quality full-backs to again rotate. If you're going to play that system then you need to rotate.”

Asked about his training methods, Postecoglou said during his first season at the club: “A lot of the injuries are just the way we train and play. It’s players, sports science staff and the medical team understanding that and making adjustments.

“In my experience, I see that the players’ bodies adjust and they become more resilient to it. There’s also a science to it that helps us along in that way.”

There is little doubt that the growing injury list has hampered Tottenham’s season with the north London club currently 15th in the table.

Spurs have picked up just one point from a possible 18 in the league, coinciding with a list of key players in the treatment room.

Despite the club’s ongoing fitness issues, Tottenham still harbour ambitions of ending their 17-year trophy drought.

Carabao Cup success presents Spurs with their best hope of silverware while they remain in contention for the Europa League and FA Cup.

But much will hinge on how quickly Postecoglou can get his big hitters pack on the pitch and whether the injury woes will begin to ease.

Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara told talkSPORT that the injuries should not be used as an excuse for the club’s poor league showing.

“There’s injuries, key injuries but Bournemouth had eight first-team players out and beat Newcastle 4-1,” O’Hara said.

“If we were playing kids from the reserves and we were getting beaten, I’d hold my hands up and say we are struggling and down to the bare bones.

“[Heung-min] Son, [James] Maddison, [Dejan] Kulusevski, {Radu] Dragusin, [Pedro] Porro, they all played the other day. Don't tell me it’s acceptable to lose 12 games this season.”

‘Stupidly bias’ – Arsenal Invincible gets into heated clash over Tottenham’s struggles

Martin Keown bleeds Arsenal red and that will never change.

The Gunners legend is often heard fighting the Arsenal cause and he was at it again on Monday in a heated clash with a Tottenham fan, live on talkSPORT.

Keown, a member of the Arsenal Invincibles team of 2004, didn’t just have the fan to contend with, as arch-enemy Simon Jordan also challenged him about Arsenal’s faltering campaign.

The Gunners have slipped further out of title contention following Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Aston Villa which sees them sitting six points adrift of leaders Liverpool having played a game more.

One win in the last five games means the season has quickly turned on its head for Mikel Arteta’s men.

An FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United and the deck stacked against them in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Newcastle, trailing 2-0, means Arteta's side could again finish the season without a trophy.

Things are far from rosy across north London where Spurs are slumped in 15th place having collected just one point from a possible 18.

However, unlike Arsenal, Ange Postecoglou’s side do hold realistic hopes of landing silverware in the League Cup and Europa League and are still competing in the FA Cup after seeing off non-league Tamworth earlier this month.

One Tottenham fan called into the White and Jordan show to point out that not only do Spurs have a greater chance of winning silverware than Arsenal, but the current plight of Tottenham is not too dissimilar from their north London rivals.

But Keown was having none of it.

The former defender kicked off his monologue with a dig at both Tottenham and the caller, saying: “One thing I will congratulate Postecoglou on is that he tried to change the culture. When you guys were celebrating when you failed to get a result against Man City [last season] and it looked like they were going to be champions and denied Arsenal doing it.

“You’ve got to set your own goals,” he continued. “That’s what this manager’s been doing, but you’re an old fashioned fan who’s just concerned about what you do against Arsenal. As long as you beat Arsenal every year, that’s all you’re worried about.

“How can you compare Arsenal and Tottenham right now? They’re polar opposites.”

Pressed on the differences between the two teams, Keown added: “Look at Arsenal's defence, it’s conceded the least amount of goals this season.

“Spurs are up there now they’re losing game after game – 12 defeats. That’s hardly comparable with Arsenal is it?”

Jordan interjected to highlight the point the caller was making, before aiming his own dig at Keown.

“Well, he does have a point, Martin, because you do write newspaper articles saying you wouldn’t have any Tottenham Hotspur players in the Arsenal team,” said the former Crystal Palace owner.

“But he does have a point, he says they can win the Europa League and the League Cup.

“You can’t win the League Cup, potentially, because you’ve got to overcome Newcastle at St James’ Park after losing 2-0.”

Keown hit back reminding Jordan that the tie is far from over, saying: “Well Bournemouth went there at the weekend and won 4-1. If Bournemouth can do it, maybe Newcastle are sitting nervously.”

“We will see,” Jordan responded. “You would have expected Arsenal to have done their job at home.

“So what he’s [caller] doing is drawing a parallel which is what you like to do and sitting in a position of, as we all know and everyone in the studio knows, you have no objectivity as far as Arsenal are concerned."

Tapping into his inner Arsenal, Keown launched a staunch defence of his support for the Gunners.

“Would you expect me to?,” he replied. “I played 449 games for them. I won three Premier Leagues, three FA Cups. I have to have a team in this.

“I would have thought Palace is your team?,” he told Jordan. “If you really love Palace, your affinity would be with Palace but I don’t really sense that.”

“But I’m not stupidly biased,” Jordan said in response.

“I’m not being stupidly biased,” said Keown. “I think you’ll find that’s not the case. I was very magnanimous last week when Manchester United knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup.”

But Jordan had the final say on the debate again clarifying the caller’s initial claim.

He said: “The point the caller is making is that Tottenham can win the League Cup, you can't, potentially. Tottenham can win the FA Cup, you can’t. Tottenham can win the Europa League and it’s very unlikely you’re going to win the Champions League.”

Transfer hijack - I met with Tottenham but joined Arsenal instead and Spurs even paid for the taxi

Tottenham believed they were about to sign Emmanuel Petit in 1997, but Arsenal hatched a plan to pull off the mother of all transfer hijacks.

This was a period of great success for the Gunners - Dennis Bergkamp and David Platt were added to the squad that summer, while Arsene Wenger was appointed manager in 1996 and transformed them forever.

So when it was put to France international Petit: Do you want to fight relegation or challenge for Premier League titles, it was a no-brainer.

Petit was in London, talking to Spurs chairman Alan Sugar about moving to the capital from Monaco. Arsenal heard about the meeting and got word to him not to sign anything until he had at least heard Wenger's pitch about this new era that was about to unfold at Highbury.

That seemed fair enough considering Wenger was the man who brought him through at the French club, so Petit asked Tottenham bosses for time to think about the offer at his hotel.

Spurs even paid for the taxi to drive him there, but the cab was instead diverted to Wenger's house where he was joined by vice-chairman David Dein and a £3.5m deal was sealed.

Speaking to Andy Goldstein on talkSPORT Drive, Petit recalled: “I had meetings on the same day with Tottenham and Arsenal. I met Tottenham in the morning, but when I came to England I didn’t know about the rivalry between the two clubs.

"When I left the Spurs stadium, they booked me a cab and the cab driver asked me for directions, so I gave him the Arsenal address and I didn’t realise that the cab was pre-paid by Spurs, so they knew where I was going!

"I told Spurs that I needed time to think about it but knew that I had to see Arsenal, as well as other clubs in Italy and Spain.

“I told everyone that I’d make my mind up and when I knew the answer I would give it, but after a couple of days I signed for Arsenal and it went into newspapers and all of a sudden the story came.

“I realised the pressure of the rivalry then.”

Speaking about it in 2018, Petit said: "It’s part of the legend now. David Dein still loves that story - and [more than] 20 years later he’s still telling it!”

His transfer began Wenger's revolution, with Gilles Grimandi and Nicolas Anelka also arriving at Highbury.

And Petit was a very busy man.

"I didn't realise it was so popular at the time," he laughed at his appearance on the popular TV show that ended in 2010 after 27 years where he played himself delivering a signed ball to an ill child in hospital.

But those long blond locks fans loved him for may never have been seen by British fans, as his teammates threatened to cut them off owing to an apparent rudeness.

“When the French lads came over, the atmosphere was a little different," former teammate Ray Parlour once told talkSPORT.

“Us British guys had a little bit more fun.

“Dennis Bergkamp was another one, they were a little more bit serious and we tried to get a bit of fun out of them.

“They did change quickly and they did really enjoy the banter, but every now again, for example, Manu Petit sometimes would walk straight past you.

“You’d say, ‘morning, Manu’, and he’d walk straight past you.

"He did it to all the players. He did it to [captain] Tony Adams, he did it to [goalkeeper] David Seaman and that’s not acceptable.

“Whatever problems you have, you say good morning to somebody, don’t you? It’s very rude if you just walk past someone. It’s just having that respect for other people.

“So, one morning we nailed him against the wall and told him: ‘Make sure you say good morning to everybody because, if you don’t, we’ll cut your ponytail off!’

“We even had scissors.

“After that, he was good as gold!"

Petit, though, would have been more worried by Martin Keown telling him to behave.

He once joked football saved Keown from a stretch in jail. "Martin is such a nice guy but all of a sudden, in the space of one second, he can change," he said recalling his teammate's combative nature.

Both were fierce competitors and both have enjoyed Arsenal's ascent in recent years and Tottenham's struggles.

Joining talkSPORT after a very one-sided north London derby in which Spurs were easily beaten, he called manager Ange Postecoglu 'broken' and took pity on the White Hart Lane faithful, which will not have gone down well.

"When I look at this team, I have no idea what they want to do on the pitch, what kind of system, what kind of movements, even the commitment and the behaviour of the players.

“I know that they give everything on the pitch, but that's not enough. When you look at the quality individually and collectively in this team, something has been broken."

Once a Gooner, always a Gooner.

'It's embarrassing' - Tottenham cult hero slams Daniel Levy and accuses board of using club to make money

Tottenham's troubles got even worse against Everton and former striker Mido has slammed the club's board for their role in the shambles.

Spurs put in a shocking 45 minute display against the Toffees, leaving them 3-0 down with a mountain to climb in the second period.

Everton - the Premier League’s second-lowest-scoring team - did manage to hold on to the win, despite a late rally from Ange Postecoglou's men.

Goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison took the score to a more respectable 3-2 - but the damage had been done.

Spurs now find themselves with just two wins in their last 11 Premier League games, leaving them languishing in 15th in the table.

All while they are mired in an injury crisis which saw them have just 11 fully fit players for the Goodison Park clash, following Dominic Solanke's knee problem the day before the game.

When talkSPORT Breakfast host Jeff Stelling asked Mido whether Tottenham's injury woes excuse Ange Postecoglou, he was quick to blast the board instead of the manager..

“It’s embarrassing. But I don’t think the main problem is Ange. Or any other coach and I’m being honest here,” he said.

“The people at the top have been running the club from a financial point of view, not from a football point of view.

“I feel sorry for every Spurs fan, and I’m one of them, the club has been run with these ideas.

“I always believe you have to find the balance between the technical operation and the right investment.

“And with Daniel Levy, the people at the top, I have all the respect for them, but I think their first concern is to make money out of this football club.

“Tottenham is a huge club with a great history. The best stadium in England, with the best facilities. Any player in the world would be proud to play for such a big club like Tottenham.

“But now it’s very difficult to attract top players. It’s even more difficult to attract top coaches.

“It’s obvious that the management and the board, their first concern when it comes to the club is to make money, not to win trophies.”

Mido continued: “If the chairman and the board are winning and planning to take this club to the top, it will filter down to the young supporters in the stand.

“It comes from good transfers, it comes from keeping your best players. The club have the qualities to be in a much better place compared to where they are now.

“I’m saying this because I love this football club, I am honoured to have played for Tottenham.

“Football is simple. You spend money the right way, you have the right mentality, and it goes to everyone at the football club.”

Spurs’ defeat at Everton leaves them hovering in the bottom six, heading into a critical clash against Leicester, which is undeniably a must-win.

It's currently unknown how many players will be back for that clash but it seems unlikely Postecoglou will have many returning.

Rodrigo Bentancur could come back if he passes concussion protocols after his knock to the head against Liverpool.

The extent of Yves Bissouma's knock against Arsenal and a calf problem for Brennan Johnson are also currently unknown.

Meanwhile, centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, despite being slated for returns in late January, won't be rushed back following their calamitous returns against Chelsea back in early December.

They both suffered new injuries after surprise starts against their London rivals and subsequently lost to the Blues after taking a 2-0 lead.

Tottenham's next challenge awaits on Thursday evening as they take on German side Hoffenheim in the Europa League.

'A disgrace' - Tottenham fan almost walked out of studio instead of enduring humiliation on camera

Tottenham's abysmal first half against Everton pushed one fan to breaking point.

The Toffees smashed home three goals in the opening 45 minutes at Goodison Park via Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Iliman Ndiaye and an Archie Gray own goal.

Calvert-Lewin produced some slick footwork inside the box to open the scoring in the 13th minute, snapping his 16-game goal drought.

Unfortunately for Tottenham fan Abbi Summers it was a brutal scene to witness and she had to endure it in front of millions of people on The Final Whistle on talkSPORT.

Summers sunk back into her chair in the talkSPORT studio and could barely hide her frustration as co-hosts Sam Ellard, Zac Djellab and Kweku Afari waxed lyrical over Calvert-Lewin's strike.

One became two just 17 minutes later.

Ndiaye received the ball at the halfway line and carried it up the pitch before unleashing a vicious step-over to get past Radu Dragusin and fire home past Antonin Kinsky.

Ellard leapt out of his seat upon seeing Ndiaye's goal while Summers simply smiled through the pain.

Afari didn't hold back either as he issued a scathing verdict on Ange Postecglou's side.

"Tottenham are cooked, they are done, they are finished, finito," Afari said.

"It is over."

Unfortunately for Summers, Tottenham's first-half capitulation was not done yet.

Toffees defender James Tarkowski headed a floated cross back across the face of goal.

Dragusin got his foot to clear the ball, but it cannoned off of Archie Gray and into the back of the net.

At this point, Summers took off her headphones and looked towards the door as she contemplated a quick escape.

"It's done, it's done," Summers said.

Ellard asked Summers if she wanted to get a taxi home to avoid watching any more, to which she replied: "I'll be honest, this is nasty, isn't it? Making me sit here and watch this on camera."

The cameras at Goodison Park panned to Postecoglou, who wore a forlorn and desperate expression on his face.

Asked to assess the look on Postecoglou's face, Summers said: "It's done. I know it's done, he knows it's done, they all know it's done. Might as well just do it at half-time."

Dejan Kulusevski eventually pulled one back for Tottenham in the 77th minute, but it did little to lighten Summers' mood.

In fact, Summers claimed she wouldn't celebrate one bit even if Tottenham found two more goals.

"No, I still won't be celebrating because they're a disgrace," Summers said.

"They are a disgrace. This club are a disgrace."

Richarlison added a second for Tottenham in the second minute of stoppage time, but it was ultimately too little, too late as Everton held on for the win.

The result heaped even more pressure on Postecoglou as Tottenham now sit just eight points clear of the relegation zone and 14 away from the top four.

Such was Postecoglou's demeanour at Goodison Park, Arsenal hero Perry Groves believes the Aussie knows he may be running out of time in north London.

"Postecoglou was looking completely shell-shocked, he was looking like he didn't have any answers," Groves told talkSPORT.

"You could tell in his eyes he was thinking, 'That team isn't playing for me, they're gone.'"

Postecoglou and his Tottenham side must now turn their attention to a Europa League clash against German outfit Hoffenheim on Thursday.

However, they must battle the Bundesliga side - who are battling relegation - with a depleted team. Tottenham's injury list stood at 10 before the Everton game as Dominic Solanke sustained a knee injury to join the casualty list. Dragusin, meanwhile, did not emerging for the second half with a cut to the head.

Asked whether he could address the issue in the closing weeks of the transfer market Postecoglu said: "As far as I know at the moment there's nothing imminent.

"I assume between now and the end of the window hopefully something comes up.

"I separate myself from that. The club's doing its best (but it's) more about helping the players than helping me because they're the ones we're asking some massive jobs.

"We had a 17-year-old [Mikey Moore] out there trying to win games of football for us."

'You can't say that' - Ex-Arsenal player hits back at Tottenham fan's astonishing view

Ex-Arsenal player Perry Groves was left stunned by a Tottenham fan's claim he would love to see the club he loves to get relegated.

The former Gunners winger was forced to interrupt after the Spurs supporter made the bold claim after they lost 3-2 at Everton on Sunday.

Spurs have not dropped out of the top flight since 1977, when they made an immediate return from the second tier.

However, Sunday's 3-2 loss to Everton leaves Ange Postecoglou's side 15th in the Premier League after 22 matches.

Following the defeat, Spurs fan Richard slammed Postecoglou as well as taking aim at Daniel Levy and the club's hierarchy.

He told The Sunday Session: “He's (Postecoglou) not good enough.

"The job is too big for him. I've said this before on talkSPORT. He's not good enough.

"He was found out 12 months ago. It was all good when he came into Tottenham playing and for it was all good. Then he got rumbled then he got tumbled and then that's when the problem started.

"He's not good enough... but the biggest problem is above. And Mr. Levy and Joe Lewis are the biggest problem at Tottenham.

"And I hope all the Spurs fans are listening to this. Do not go to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium anymore. Hold onto your feet and let's hope. I've been a Spurs fan all my life, 47 years.

"Yeah, I've been a Spurs fan. I'd love the club to get relegated."

The bold claim forced Groves to interrupt, exclaiming: "You can't say that you want your club to get relegated because as a fan you support your team through thick and thin no matter what.

"The owners come and go, managers come and go, players come and go.

"Fans are the most consistent thing there. You can't say that you want your club to get relegated just so that the owners go because it goes to say you're gonna get back."

However, Richard continued: "Listen, we've got a massive stadium. As Mr. Levy says, ‘it's all beautiful, it's got all the bells and whistles’. It's got this, it's got that.

"At the end of the day the man who owns it don't put no money in. The money don't come in.

"We’ve underachieved for many many years and I feel sorry for all the Spurs fans out there. I'm speaking from the heart."

Spurs now find themselves just eight points above the relegation zone, compared to the nine-point gap to the top half.

Meanwhile, it is almost 17 years since the club's last trophy, a triumph in the League Cup in 2008.

Ange Postecoglou confirms Dominic Solanke blow ahead of Carabao Cup semi-final second leg after latest Tottenham defeat

Dominic Solanke is looking like a doubt for Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool.

The striker played no part in Spurs' latest defeat - a 3-2 loss to Everton at Goodison Park due to a knee problem.

Heung-min Son led the line for the north London side, but he was largely isolated throughout.

Solanke has led the line on his own due to the club's fitness issues but has now suffered an injury himself.

Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner also played no part.

Yves Bissouma also missed the match, so Tottenham's injury crisis is getting worse.

Postecoglou confirmed the news ahead of kick-off at Goodison Park, saying: "Brennan and Biss picked up knocks against Arsenal.

"Biss not too bad, Brennan probably a little bit more significant.

"Dominic tweaked his knee yesterday in training trying to take a shot and misses today and not sure of the extent of it."

Postecoglou continued: "It's always a blow when you lose key players for any club.

"Obviously in the situation we're in that's further exemplified by the fact that we don't really have the depth to cover it at the moment, but that's okay.

"We've got 11 fit players and that's what you need to start a game."

He also sat out the reverse meeting with Everton after picking up a knock on his Premier League debut for Tottenham.

The England international sat out the 4-0 win over the Toffees in August as well as the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle in the club's next match.

However, since his return, Solanke has been near-ever present for Tottenham in the Premier League, scoring seven times.

Aside from sitting out a 1-1 draw with Fulham in December due to illness, the 27-year-old has started every other top-flight match.

Postecoglou's lack of cover in forward areas following Richarlison's injury woes have also meant Solanke hasn't been afforded a rest.

The latter has played the third-most amount of minutes in the Premier League for Tottenham this season, only behind Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski.

Solanke has also racked up over 500 minutes across three cup competitions, with 11 goals in total since arriving from Bournemouth.

He was even needed to cameo from the bench in the FA Cup third-round 3-0 extra-time win over National League Tamworth.

After the loss at Goodison Park, Postecoglou revealed that he expects to be without his striker for a 'few weeks', which would make him a huge doubt for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

He said: "It was just one of those things. He went to shoot on his own and twisted it. We don't think it's serious but it'll be a few weeks."

If it is a few weeks, then Solanke stands a low chance of playing the second leg on Thursday, February 6.

He provided the assist for Lucas Bergvall's winner in the first meeting between the two, with Spurs holding a slender 1-0 advantage.

Only this week, Postecoglou all-but foreshadowed Solanke's injury by sharing his fear that his No.9 was being overloaded.

The Australian manager admitted he was in the process of targeting a new forward this month to relieve the burden on Solanke.

Postecoglou said: "If we can get him some help, yeah [he will continue to fill the gap left by Harry Kane].

"Dom has just been outstanding in the way he’s carried the frontline for us during this period.

"With the way we play, we put a lot of demands on that position. It’s not just him standing up there scoring goals, it’s working hard for the team.

"I really think if Richy was available, I think [Dom] would have been able to contribute even greater for us in terms of his output in goals.

"I really love what he brings to us as a team from a football perspective, from a cultural perspective.

"The only growth we’ve seen in recent times is him and Deki [Dejan Kulusevski] becoming on-field leaders in the team.

"With Dom being a new player, it probably would have been easier for him to slip in and do his job but he’s taken on the responsibility of helping the whole team. He’s been great for us.

"I really feel there is more to him and his game. We’ll be able to get more out of him if we can him some help."

Postecoglou will now be sweating on a prolonged absence for Solanke ahead of a crucial spell in Tottenham's faltering season.

The latest defeat was Tottenham's 12th of the season, leaving them in 15th place.

The Lilywhites haven't won a Premier League match since beating bottom-of-the-table Southampton on December 15.

'This might be his last week' - Ange Postecoglou sack fears as Tottenham undone by 'Moyesball'

Ange Postecoglou might finally have reached end times at Tottenham after 45 minutes of embarrassment at Goodison Park.

Everton - the Premier League’s second lowest scoring team - took just half an hour to go two goals up against Spurs in a 3-2 win, and they made it look easy.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring in the 13th minute but it was Iliman Ndiaye who made the visitors look as bad as they have under their Australian manager.

With a swift passing move, it was 2-0, and Arsenal great Perry Groves was left stunned on talkSPORT, particularly with David Moyes just arriving at Everton.

“That was Moyes ball, that goal started at the right back position, went into midfield, back out again, left back position, into Ndiaye, that was probably 12 passes which you don’t associate with David Moyes do you,” he began.

“Spurs aren’t closing down properly, it’s half hearted, I think, and I might be wrong, I think this might be Postecoglou’s last week.

“Going up to Everton who couldn’t hit a cow’s backside with a banjo, they weren’t exactly free flowing, for them to actually rip Spurs apart through that passing move means that the Spurs players aren’t buying into Postecoglou and they aren’t playing for him.

“I think he’s going to be under pressure this week.”

And it then got even worse for Tottenham as youngster Archie Gray turned the ball into his own net to make it 3-0 at the break.

talkSPORT host Adrian Durham added: "Is it Ange Postecoglou's last game?"

Groves then went on to say: "Postecoglou was looking completely shell-shocked, he was looking like he didn't have any answers.

"You could tell in his eyes he was thinking 'that team isn't playing for me, they're gone'.

The Australian coach made a change at the break, taking off Radu Dragusin and bringing on Richarlison against his old side.

It seemed to have some effect as the rot was stopped, and the Brazilian even got on the scoresheet after Dejan Kulusevski pulled one back.

It proved to be too little too late, though, and Spurs stay in the bottom six ahead of a trip to Leicester next up which is surely a must-win.

Much like in recent weeks, Postecoglou's mood wasn't exactly brilliant pre-match as he revealed the team's injury list has increased to 14 players.

"Brennan [Johnson] and Biss [Yves Bissouma] picked up knocks against Arsenal," he said. "Biss not too bad, Brennan probably a little bit more significant.

"Dominic [Solanke] tweaked his knee yesterday in training trying to take a shot and misses today and not sure of the extent of it.

"It's always a blow when you lose key players for any club. Obviously in the situation we're in that's further exemplified by the fact that we don't really have the depth to cover it at the moment, but that's okay.

"We've got 11 fit players and that's what you need to start a game."

Spurs entered the game in 15th in Postecoglou's second season with just one win in 12 league games.

Dominic Solanke is not in Tottenham's squad to face Everton this afternoon with his injury now confirmed.

It has forced Spurs to start captain Heung-min Son up front as their injury crisis continues to get worse.

Solanke has largely led the line on his own due to the club's fitness issues but has now suffered a knee problem himself.

Brennan Johnson is also absent along with Timo Werner, while Yves Bissouma is unfit and Ben Davies, who is starting this afternoon, won't last the full 90 minutes, according to Ange Postecoglou.

Solanke is one of multiple players to miss the visit to Merseyside and there are concerns that a lengthy spell on the sidelines awaits.

The 2-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal in the north London derby confined Spurs to 15th in the table - already 14 points off the top four.

The Lilywhites haven't won a Premier League match since beating bottom-of-the-table Southampton on December 15.

That is their only victory in their past nine top-flight encounters, with Everton having the chance to move within four points of Tottenham with a game-in-hand.

Solanke faces a race to be fit for the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

He provided the assist for Lucas Bergvall's winner in the first meeting between the two, with Spurs holding a slender 1-0 advantage.

Tottenham's injury crisis has been plunged to a new low with Dominic Solanke out of Sunday's clash with Everton, talkSPORT understands.

It means that Richarlison is likely to be drafted in to the starting XI in his place.

Solanke has largely led the line on his own due to the club's fitness issues but has now suffered a knee problem himself.

The£65million summer signing will miss the visit to Goodison Park with concerns a lengthy spell on the sidelines awaits.
