Paris Saint-Germain opted not to pursue a No. 9 this past summer window, giving Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos a vote of confidence. However, if neither player solidifies themselves as the starting striker, could the Parisians be in the market next summer?
Finishing was an issue in the first league phase match for PSG in the UEFA Champions League. Now, it could be a one-off game where the ball just didn’t go in for them, and if it weren’t for an error, the Parisians wouldn’t have found the back of the net.
However, there’s the other side: They might not have a big-game striker who scores consistently in the Champions League. This season will determine whether their two strikers can appear in big-time matches.
A three-way battle for Viktor Gyökeres?
If not, CaughtOffside reported on Wednesday, citing sources, that Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and PSG look like the main names to watch for the moment regarding Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres.

The report also notes that Tottenham have emerged as the most interested in Gyökeres. Meanwhile, Chelsea are keeping him as a potential option as they’re expected to make another attempt at Victor Osimhen in January or next summer.
PSG also admires Gyökeres and have an excellent relationship with Sporting. Nonetheless, CaughtOffside reveals that any move would likely depend on whether the club decides to part ways with Ramos or Kolo Muani after this season, which hasn’t been determined yet.
Gyökeres scored on Tuesday in Sporting’s 2-0 win over LOSC in the Champions League. For now, the player he’s showing he can score in Portugal’s top flight, recording 52 goals and 18 assists in 57 total appearances since joining Sporting in 2023.
