Tottenham Hotspur have been actively seeking to bolster their attack this summer and have been linked with a host of names, including Juventus star Federico Chiesa.

However, the latest update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicates that Spurs are not pursuing the Juventus winger.

Romano clarified that there have been no contacts or negotiations between Tottenham and Juventus regarding Chiesa. Despite his availability and impressive performances, Spurs have chosen not to engage in talks for the 26-year-old forward.

Taking to X, the Italian journalist shared the following update:

“No contacts taking place between Tottenham and Juventus for Federico Chiesa. Spurs will sign one more player upfront but no talks or negotiations are taking place for Chiesa.”

Chiesa, who has entered the final year of his contract with Juventus, had a notable campaign last season, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 33 Serie A appearances. His significant attacking prowess makes him an attractive prospect.

There is some positive to take from Romano’s update as he seems to confirm that Spurs will sign one more attacking player before the transfer window shuts.

While Chiesa’s talent and potential transfer value is appealing, Romano’s comments suggest that Spurs are keen on signing another forward but have specific criteria that Chiesa does not fit at this moment.

The Lilywhites are reportedly more interested in securing Premier League-proven players, such as Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze or Wolves’ Pedro Neto.

TBH Says:

Spurs fans might be disappointed by the news, especially considering Chiesa’s high profile and recent form.

Fans are already growing frustrated with the lack of high-profile signings, as the club continues to focus on signing promising talents for the future, with the new season just a few weeks away.

With a dire need to bolster the attack, in particular the striking position, Romano’s claim that the club will be signing one more attacker is the only positive thing to come from this latest update.
