Turkish outfit Galatasaray are keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies before the summer transfer window closes.
The 31-year-old Welsh defender has fallen down the pecking order of the club, and he is no longer a key player for them. Davies needs to leave the club in order to play regularly and would be willing to provide him with an exit route.
According to a report from Turkish publication Takvim, the European outfit have ‘turned their eyes’ towards the Tottenham defender, and he is valued at around €10 million. Tottenham already have Destiny Udogie as their first-choice left-back at the club and it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to sanction the departure of the Welsh International.
Davies is no longer at his peak and Davies is clearly on the decline. Now would be the right time to cash in on the player while he still retains some value.
Tottenham already have players like Djed Spence at their disposal who are capable of operating operating as a full back on both flanks. It remains to be seen whether Galatasaray follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the 31-year-old defender. The Turkish transfer window closes on 13th September and Galatsaray will have to get their act together and move quickly if they want to get the deal done.
Tottenham have been quite active in the market this summer, and they could look to balance the books. Selling the Welsh defender could prove to be a wise decision if there is a reasonable offer on the table. Meanwhile, the defender will be able to get his career back on track with regular football in Turkey.
