A look at the early Tottenham injury news as the North London derby with Arsenal approaches on the other side of the international break.
Tottenham are now on international break as they begin early preparations for the North London derby with Arsenal on the other side. It has been a rocky start to the season for Ange Postecoglou’s men, who drew with Leicester City, beat Everton but then finished their first run of games with an away defeat to Newcastle United.
Spurs must improve quickly after the break, and they will need to be ready to face Arsenal in the derby. Injuries won’t help their case with a few players currently struggling with issues. Here we round up all the latest injury news surrounding Postecoglou’s men as that North London derby clash comes into focus.

Possible return date: Saturday, September 21 vs Brentford
Richarlison has a fresh injury blow after pulling up in training last week. Postecoglou said: “Yeah, that's it and that's a challenge, I guess. It's something we've got to look at again. He's been in that cycle for quite a while and predating me, I guess. We've put a lot of thought (into it), we took a really sort of conservative approach with him. He didn't play in any of the preseason games, and he's really only played 20 minutes of first team football.
“But again, obviously he's had a setback. So it's something we just got to go back with Richy and work through the steps now of getting him back up and running, because you know, when he's fit he's such a handful. Even last week that 20 minutes he played, you can see the options he gives us in that position. But like you said, it's frustrating probably for him as much as anyone else but frustrating for us, too. But that's the reason we brought Dom in, but obviously he picked up an injury in the first couple of games, but again it's something we'll work with Richy on.” Richarlison is expected to miss the derby.
Dominic Solanke
Possible return date: Sunday, September 15 vs Arsenal
Solanke has only made one appearance for Spurs due to injury, but he is now close to returning. Postecoglou has said: “Dom is close but we’re going to be a bit cautious with him, we’ve got a big programme post the international break, so he’ll miss out on Sunday.” Solanke will be hoping to make his mark on the North London derby in his first experience of it.
Micky van de Ven
Possible return date: Sunday, September 15 vs Arsenal
Van de Ven picked up a knee injury that saw him miss Newcastle but he will almost certainly be back for the derby. Postecoglou has said: "Micky was close, he trained this week, but he's not quite 100 per cent, part of me was keen to give Radu a run as well, especially at this venue, so we've gone with Radu today. It's nothing serious, we've a heavy programme after the international break, we're going to need all our back four, so getting Radu a game today is positive for us."
