Tottenham Hotspur splashed out £40m on Archie Gray, a talented teenage midfielder from Leeds United, while Lucas Bergvall has also arrived in north London. Kyle Walker-Peters has been linked with a return to his former club, while Spurs are also thought to be eyeing Ebere Eze of Crystal Palace.

They could also do with tightening up at the back. Spurs gave up 61 goals last time out - too many for a club that is aiming to be among the division’s leading quartet. Postecoglou’s side must become more defensively resolute.
