Tottenham Hotspur fans react to pre-season Asia tour plans after recent reports suggest the club is heading there for yet another year.
With the 2024/25 season nearing its conclusion for Tottenham Hotspur, preparations for the next campaign are already gathering pace.
A few days ago, reports emerged that Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Arsenal in a North London derby during pre-season.
The fixture, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong, fuelled speculation that Spurs could once again be heading to Asia for their summer preparations.
Tottenham Hotspur fans react to the club’s preseason tour to Asia once more
It has now been revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are finalising plans for a pre-season tour of Asia. A visit to South Korea is on the cards, while discussions have taken place regarding a match in Hong Kong,
The reaction from the Spurs faithful has been mixed, with frustration growing among sections of the fanbase. Many believe the club’s repeated focus on Asia is financially driven, rather than a well-balanced effort to engage with supporters worldwide.
One fan voiced their discontent, saying: “Getting real tiring supporting Daniel’s personal honey pot, what is this three straight years? Four?”

Another fan, RSC Hotspur, added: “Man, people from other countries deserve to watch our team too. Only care about the money while ignoring the fans, as usual.”
Tobius was critical of chairman Daniel Levy, stating: “After all this, Levy cannot buy Ange his players.” Meanwhile, George T questioned the club’s strategy: “All the big clubs are going to the US, but we keep milking the Asian market.”
One fan even suggested the move was motivated by Heung-min Son’s presence at the club: “At this point, I really think it is a part of the plan to keep Sonny at the club as long as possible.”
Daniel Levy is missing the bigger picture
Daniel Levy just does not seem to get it. Time and again, the Tottenham chairman makes decisions from a financial standpoint, often neglecting the voices of the fans.
Last summer, the club reportedly earned at least £10 million from their Japan tour. While this is beneficial from a business perspective, it raises concerns about the club’s engagement with its wider global fanbase.
There is nothing inherently wrong with Spurs touring Asia, but the lack of variety in pre-season destinations is ‘tiring’ as fans stated.
Other clubs spread their reach across multiple continents, but Tottenham appear to be sticking to the same formula. Fans want a more balanced approach, ensuring different parts of the world get the opportunity to see their team in action.
