Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City
How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently
Last time out, a Micky Van de Ven-less Tottenham lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich Town. A slow start saw the hosts go in at half-time 2-0 down before Rodrigo Bentancur’s 69th-minute strike gave them some hope. Guglielmo Vicario returned in goal after resting for the Europa League defeat to Galatasaray. A back four of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin, and Destiny Udogie struggled to deal with a Tractor Boys attack lacking in Premier League experience.

A midfield three of Dejan Kulusevski, Bentancur, and Pape Matar Sarr controlled the ball but failed to create many big chances. Dominic Solanke missed a great opportunity at the end that could’ve salvaged a draw for Spurs. Brennan Johnson and Hueng-min Son could not add to their seven combined Premier League goals from the flanks.
Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics
Despite their lack of form, Tottenham aren’t expected to change their free-flowing attacking style under Ange Postecoglou. Their recent form isn’t a very good indicator of how they’ll play against Manchester City. They have only had the same result three times in a row once all season.

The Lilywhites are tenth in the league but over their last five games, they’ve beaten teams placed second and ninth and lost to sides placed 17th and 18th. This inconsistency needs to stop if Spurs want to compete for the biggest honours but may do Postecoglou’s side well this weekend against the winners of the last four Premier League titles.
A change this season has seen Kulusevski operating in the midfield rather than on the right wing. This has allowed Johnson to start more games but has seen James Maddison benched for the last two league matches. Yves Bisssouma has also struggled to break into the midfield recently, with the Mali international starting just four league games.
Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions To Consider
Tottenham have a whole list of selection problems, mainly in defence, for the trip to Manchester. Earlier this week, Bentancur was suspended for seven matches for a racist comment he made while on TV in his native Uruguay. Centre-back Van de Ven (Thigh) and Cristian Romero (Toe) are in a race to be fit after the Argentinian joined the Dutch defender on the treatment table during the international break.

Further forward, attackers Timo Werner (hip) and Mikey Moore (illness) are expected to return but Wilson Oderbert and Richarlison (both thigh) will remain out for the foreseeable future. This makes Tottenham weak upfront and has seen young striker Will Lankshear be involved recently.
