Tottenham Hotspur will look to put their fans in the festive spirit when they travel to Nottingham Forest at 3:oopm on boxing day. Liverpool played the role of the Grinch on Sunday as they put six past Ange Postecoglou’s makeshift defence and ended the home side’s three-game unbeaten run. Here is our Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup as The Lilywhites battle with Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying team.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Nottingham Forest For Dec. 26

How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently

Postecoglou stuck with the players that impressed in big wins over Manchester United and Southampton. Fraser Forster kept his place despite an error-prone display against The Red Devils. The former Celtic goalkeeper made six saves but conceded as many as Tottenham’s defence struggled to deal with Liverpool’s clinical attack.

Radu Dragusin, Spurs’ only fit centre-back, found things difficult. The 22-year-old failed to make a tackle and only won one duel. Archie Gray’s inexperience was exposed by an unforgiving Liverpool attack. Dominic Szoboszlai was lively throughout and gave the two Tottenham centre-backs too much to deal with. Despite coming up against Mo Salah, Djed Spence can hold his head up high. He evaded the visitor’s press well, completing 94% of his passes.

In midfield, Yves Bissouma demonstrated why Spurs will be celebrating the return of Rodrigo Bentancur from suspension this weekend. The Mali international only won 50% of his duels and lost possession 12 times. Pape Matar Sarr equally struggled as Tottenham failed to keep up with Liverpool’s energetic engine room. James Maddison scored his third goal in as many games in a good overall performance.

Star Heung-min Son had a quiet game, having only one shot in his 82 minutes. Dejan Kulusevski scored for the fifth straight game from the right wing. His current form is keeping Tottenham’s second-highest league scorer, Brennan Johnson, out of the team. Dominic Solanke scored his sixth Premier League goal for Spurs in the 83rd minute. However, the goal only brought back a little bit of respect for his already defeated side.

Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham’s form this season has been very inconsistent. In the Premier League, they have lost more games than they have won but have a goal difference of 14, only beaten by the top three teams in the division. Their previously solid defensive record has been destroyed since Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero went down with injuries.

Spurs sit 11th in the league but are only eight points away from Forest in fourth. A win here would put Tottenham back in the race for Europe so Postecoglou needs to get his selection right. He will likely stick with his trusted 4-3-3 formation and the return of Bentancur may see the Australian move to a more attacking midfield involving both Maddison and Kulusevski. This would allow Johnson to start against his former club.

Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions to Consider

Tottenham continue to fight through a list of selection problems. One player who could have thrived during this spell is Mikey Moore. However, the 17-year-old has been suffering from an illness and has only just returned to training. Spurs fans can expect his return over the next few weeks once his match fitness returns.

Other Spurs absentees are Guglielmo Vicario (ankle), Richarlison (thigh), Ben Davies (thigh), Wilson Odobert (thigh), Romero (thigh), and Van de Ven (thigh). Tottenham will see many of these players return in January as they look to start 2025 on a high.

Tottenham Hotspur will look to build on impressive wins over Southampton and Manchester United when they welcome Liverpool to London at 4:30 pm on December 22. Thursday’s chaotic 4-3 victory over The Red Devils saw The Lilywhites into the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals. Here is our Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup for a Premier League preview of next month’s last four tie.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Vs Liverpool for December 22

How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently

Fraser Forster had his worst game since Guglielmo Vicario has been injured, against Manchester United. The former Southampton goalkeeper made two terrible mistakes to gift the visitors a way back into the game. First, he passed the ball straight to Bruno Fernandes who squared the ball for Joshua Zirkzee to tap home. Next, he whacked the ball straight into Amad Diallo to make the score 3-2 and put unnecessary pressure on his side.

In defence, Archie Gray was superb and helped Spurs keep The Red Devils at bay toward the end of the game. The 18-year-old made three tackles, four clearances, and blocked two shots. Radu Dragusin did struggle however, winning just two duels and completing just 79% of his passes. Djed Spence made his second successive start with Destiny Udogie missing the game. Pedro Porro returned to the starting lineup at right-back.

Yves Bissouma returned from suspension to partner Pape Matar Sarr in midfield. The pair kept Manchester United quiet in the first half but allowed too many long-range efforts at goal from the visitors after the break. James Maddison completed the midfield three but couldn’t continue his goalscoring form from the Southampton game.

Tottenham were on fire in attack with all three forwards getting on the scoresheet. Dejan Kulusevski was lively throughout, completing four dribbles and doubling the home side’s lead in the 46th minute. Dominic Solanke’s two goals were his first since a 4-3 loss to Chelsea. Heung-min Son wrapped up the win for Spurs late on with a goal directly from a corner.

Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham have responded to a run of five games without a win with back-to-back victories. Their attack has been in scintillating form, scoring 14 goals in their last four games. This has compensated for an injury-hit defence that has conceded eight goals in that period. Ange Postecoglou’s side are the epitome of the phrase ‘attack is the best form of defence’.

Spurs have operated with a bench made up of mostly academy players over the past few weeks. Youngsters recruited from elsewhere, Gray and Lucas Bergvall have played big roles. Also, Spence has finally been given a chance after spending the last few seasons out on loan. The creativity Postecoglou has shown in dealing with the injury crisis has kept Spurs within reach of the European places and still in the trophy hunt.

Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions to Consider

Youngster Mikey Moore has returned to training but it will still be a few weeks until he returns to match fitness following an illness. Udogie missed the Manchester United game with general soreness but will hope to return against Liverpool. Timo Werner has missed training this week with an illness but is expected to recover in time to play some part.

This is a Chelsea predicted lineup for their London derby with Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur. Enzo Maresca’s side are firing on all cylinders coming off a dominant 5-1 win over Southampton and will be aiming to get a definitive victory over another top-half rival after a 3-0 success against Aston Villa last weekend.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League Clash

How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen have shared goalkeeping duties with both impressing recently. The battle for the number one spot is on, even if Sanchez appears to be the current favourite. At the back, Moises Caicedo, Malo Gusto, Wesley Fofana, and Axel Disasi have all featured as starters on the right since Reece James’ injury.

Disasi and Fofana have also played in the middle alongside Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, and Tosin Adarabioyo. Marc Cucurella has the left-back position locked down with Renato Veiga offering rotation in Europe and cup competitions.

In the middle of the park, Caicedo has featured alongside Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez in different combinations. Cesare Casadei and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall played in these deeper roles against Heidenheim.

In attack, we have seen Joao Felix, Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku, Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, and Mykailo Mudryk across the front line with Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Marc Guiu playing as the strikers.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

Maresca has remained true to his 4-2-3-1 base formation but it has become more controlling in recent outings. It is almost a permanent 3-2-4-1 with it at times being similar to a 3-3-4. The full-backs both tend to move up higher now and occupy space while Enzo joins the attacking midfield and occupies defenders to take pressure away from Palmer.

This has proven to be a success with the Blues grinding teams down and carving them open due to the overwhelming nature of their attacks, recycling the ball has become the norm and the wingers keep the pitch stretched for the others to exploit.

Results have been really good as the team are on a streak of seven matches without defeat, a run that’s seen them climb to second in the table, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference. This takes attention to the strong rate that the team are both creating and scoring chances since the slightly poor run against Arsenal and Manchester United where they only managed a lucky goal in each outing.

Chelsea Injuries to Consider

Fofana and James remain sidelined as updated by the manager. Mudryk is still sick and will be a late decision.

Chelsea Predicted Lineup

The starters from midweek are likely to be largely rotated, specifically the defensive moves like Tosin, Disasi, Gusto, and Jorgensen. Felix and Nkunku could also drop out for more regular starters.

Ange Postecoglou’s side suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Bournemouth in midweek. Here is your Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup for a big clash in the race for a place in next season’sChampions League.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs. Chelsea

How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently

Last time out, Postecoglou rotated his squad, giving Heung-min Son a much-needed rest. Fraser Forster continued in goal with Guglielmo Vicario injured. Pedro Porro was also rested with Archie Gray being selected instead of natural full-back Djed Spence. Ben Davies went off injured against Bournemouth, making Radu Dragusin the final fit Spurs centre-back.

Spurs named the same midfield from the draw to Fulham for the clash against Bournemouth. The former continues his good recent form, completing two key passes and winning seven ground duels.

Dominic Solanke returned from injury in attack but couldn’t find the net against his former club. Brennan Johnson switched to the left wing with Son rested and Dejan Kulusevski returned from a rest of his own to play on the right. These moves were unsuccessful, with both wingers struggling to impact the game.

Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham have just one win in their last five games, a 4-0 away win over Premier League champions Manchester City. This sums up their unpredictability this season. A reason for their inconsistency is the number of injuries suffered in defence. Vicario, Micky van de Ven, and Cristian Romero have all missed substantial time with injuries.

The Bournemouth defeat saw Tottenham slip to tenth in the table, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City. A win against Chelsea would put the Spurs back on track and ensure that fans keep faith in Postecoglou’s attacking 4-3-3 style.

Only two teams have scored more than the Lilywhites’ 28 goals in the league this season. However, they have scored just four goals in their six league losses. Spurs need their attack to show more consistency if they are to mount a serious challenge for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions To Consider

Tottenham suffered another defensive injury blow against Bournemouth. Ben Davies was forced off in the 62nd minute with a thigh injury. Archie Gray filled in at Centre-back but did not look great. Postecoglou will have a defensive headache if Romero doesn’t come through unscathed from training on Saturday.

Rodrigo Bentancur’s next game will be a Europa League clash with Rangers next Thursday. Ange Postecoglou’s side could only draw with 10-man Fulham last weekend and need a win to keep the pressure on the top four. Here is your Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup for the clash as they look to rise up the table.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Bournemouth

How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently

Last time out, Tottenham looked vulnerable defensively. They were lucky just to concede one goal and stand-in goalkeeper Fraser Forster was a busy man, making five saves. Their weaknesses at the back are down to missing first-choice defenders Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Back-ups Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies don’t have the same attributes or chemistry as a pair. Without their normal defensive partners, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are having to do more defensive work and can’t contribute as effectively going forward.

Postecoglou has been rotating his options in midfield all season. The ban of Rodrigo Bentancur has seen Yves Bissouma get a real run as the starting defensive midfielder. Against Fulham, Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison started in front of the Mali international. Dejan Kulusevski was rested but will likely return to the lineup against Bournemouth.

In attack, an ill Dominic Solanke caused Heung-min Son to start through the middle against Fulham. This meant, with Kulusevski rested, that Timo Werner got an opportunity to start on the left. Brennan Johnson scored for his fourth game in a row in all competitions on the right wing.

Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham are finally beginning to find some consistency this season, having not lost for three matches. However, they would love to turn the recent draws into wins ahead of a big clash with Chelsea on December 8. The Lilywhites are seventh in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion and five behind The Blues. Ange Postecoglou’s side have been an entertaining watch this season, their 28 goals in the league is the best record in the division.

Tottenham play a 4-3-3 system that encourages everyone to get involved in attacks. Van de Ven’s run down the wing against Manchester United in September is a prime example. The team also have a strong defensive record, their 14 goals conceded is the fourth-best in the league.

Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions To Consider

Solanke was added to a growing unavailability list against Fulham. However, in good news for Spurs fans, the striker returned to training on Wednesday. Archie Gray (thigh) was taken off in stoppage time but has been passed fit for this weekend’s game. Romero is set to return to training on Friday so may be back for the game against Chelsea.

This is the Tottenham Hotspur confirmed lineup for their Premier League clash with Fulham to kick off a busy December. Ange Postecoglou has made four changes to the team that drew 2-2 with Roma on Thursday night.

Tottenham Hotspur Confirmed Lineup vs. Fulham

Timo Werner returns to the attack starting lineup, with Dominic Solanke out injured. Sergio Reguilon returns from the wilderness to take this place on the substitutes bench, while 16-year-old Luca Williams-Barnett makes the Premier League matchday squad for the first time.

Solanke has been a vital cog in the Spurs team, starting the last nine Premier League games. He reported this morning with the rest of the team but felt unwell. Ange has explained the absence: “He came in today and he wasn’t looking the best, just under the weather. So we just sent him home. Hopefully a full recovery now ahead of the next one.”

Tottenham Confirmed Lineup

Starting XI: Forster, Pedro Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison, Kulusevski; Johnson, Son (c), Werner.

Substitutes: Austin, Spence, Gray, Bergvall, Reguilon, Kulusevski, Olusesi, Williams-Barnett, Lankshear.

Momentum

Tottenham will be looking to build on their last Premier League performance, in which they defeated Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad. The Lilywhites started the game especially well, and never let City get a foothold in the game. The lightning-fast start helped ensure they were 2-0 up after 20 minutes, which shellshocked their opponents. A similar start here will be desired.

Fulham Confirmed Lineup

Starting XI: Leno, Tete, Bassey, Diop, Robinson (c), Lukic, Iwobi, Berge, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Jimenez.

Ange Postecoglou’s side bounced back from two defeats in a row to defeat the Premier League champions in dominant fashion. Here is your Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup for the clash as Spurs look to gather some momentum.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Roma

How Tottenham Have Lined Up Recently

Last time out, Tottenham managed to keep a clean sheet against Manchester City without starting centre-backs Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero. They are set to be without another key part of their defensive unit against Roma with the news that goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario fractured his ankle against the Citizens. This will see Fraser Foster make his fourth appearance of the season.

During their injury crisis, Spurs’ fringe defenders have become key players. A centre-back pairing of Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies held Manchester City to just five shots on target. Full-backs Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro will likely be given a rest against Roma with youngsters Archie Gray and Alfie Dorrington likely to get an opportunity to impress.

In midfield, Lucas Bergvall has started all four Europa League games. He will likely be joined by the in-form James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr in midfield. Brennan Johnson was dropped for the Manchester City game so he will get a chance to impress here. Timo Werner assisted the former Nottingham Forest man against the Citizens and will start here with Heung-min Son rested. Will Lankshear is suspended so Dominic Solanke will lead the line.

Tottenham’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham have been the epitome of inconsistency this season. Big wins over Aston Villa and Manchester City followed a loss to Crystal Palace. Spurs then lost two in a row to Galatasaray and Ipswich Town before beating the Citizens again this weekend. Postecoglou’s free-flowing football sets up unpredictable matches and makes his side a must-watch.

Spurs play a 4-3-3 system that expects its midfield to chip in with goals and assists. Against Manchester City, James Maddison executed this to perfection. The 28-year-old midfielder’s double put Tottenham 2-0 in the 20th minute. With Rodrigo Bentancur suspended, Yves Bissouma has an opportunity to rediscover his early 2023/24 season form. The 28-year-old started just his fifth league game of the season against the Citizens.

Tottenham Injuries and Suspensions To Consider

The Tottenham squad is still dealing with a long list of selection issues. Vicario is set to be out for months after having surgery on a broken ankle. Van de Ven is still a couple of weeks away from returning from a thigh injury and fellow centre-back Cristian Romero’s return will likely be saved until the weekend.
