Ange Postecoglou was questioned over the length of Tel’s stay at North London before their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool, and he responded: “He will play a significant part in our end to the season for sure and beyond. He will be a Tottenham player. I think he will show everyone he will be a Tottenham player in the next six months. I didn’t bring him here for six months.”

The Spurs coach also spoke about his role in convincing Tel of the move to the Lilywhites, stating: “There is something to be said for honesty and integrity. I think I have a pretty compelling story to tell because I think when I speak to players, I am not trying to sell anything that there isn’t plenty of evidence for. It is not about smooth talking or selling. There is a good story here that I really believe in. I speak from a strong conviction that what I am saying will come to fruition.”

What Can Spurs Expect From Tel?

The French forward could make his debut for the Lilywhites in their Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool, and there will be expectations from him to add more fireworks to their attacking line. Tel is a speedy and versatile figure attacking player, who is naturally a no.9 and can even slot into the left-wing role if necessary.
