Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City learn the asking price for Tottenham Hotspur defensive sensation Pedro Porro.

According to a report from Football Insider, Manchester City will have to fork out a significant fee if they want to secure the services of Tottenham star Pedro Porro. Pep Guardiola’s team are on the lookout for a new right-back and the Spanish full-back is one of the names on their wishlist.

The Premier League giants want to re-sign the 25-year-old, who was part of their squad from 2019 to 2022. However, his previous spell at City was far from ideal, as he failed to make a first-team appearance and spent most of his time out on loan.

He eventually secured a permanent move to Sporting CP and returned to the English top flight to join Tottenham Hotspur 18 months later. Spurs initially secured his services on loan before making the deal permanent in the summer of 2023. They forked out £39.7 million in total to get their hands on the Spanish right-back.

Porro has been an important part of their first team since the start and still has three years left on his deal at the club. But of late, there has been a lot of talk about his future as Manchester City are interested in re-signing the young full-back who has 11 goal contributions in his 46 outings this season.

City will have to pay £50 million for Porro

Pep Guardiola’s team will undergo quite a few changes in the summer after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign. While they will look to add more quality all across the pitch, the full-back position could be one of their priorities.

Kyle Walker’s move to AC Milan in the winter forced Guardiola to deploy Matheus Nunes at right-back. The Spanish manager is now keen on having a proper right-sided defender in his squad. While Walker could return to the club, they will still look to bring in an upgrade.

They have their eyes set on Porro who was a part of their setup back in the day. He has enough experience of playing in the English top flight and his attributes in the final third could come in handy. But they won’t find it easy to negotiate with Spurs who value the 25-year-old at £50 million.
