Tottenham Hotspur have informed outcast Sergio Reguilon that he needs to seal a move to Turkiye in the coming days.

The North London club did some exceptional work in the recently concluded transfer window. They added a lot of quality to their squad and even managed to offload players who were surplus to requirements. But, they couldn’t get rid of Sergio Reguilon who is not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Spanish international has been given a transfer ultimatum by Tottenham Hotspur. The club have asked the full-back to secure a move to Turkey in the final days of their transfer window as staying at Spurs could see him sit on the sidelines for months.

Reguilon was an important part of their first team in the initial years after joining them from Real Madrid. But, he has been surplus to requirements since the summer of 2022 and has spent the last two seasons out on loan.

The Spanish left-back spent the second half of last season at Brentford and he did do a decent job. However, that has had zero impact on his future at the North London club. Postecoglou doesn’t count on him and he was asked to look for a move away while the transfer window in the UK was still open.

Final opportunity for Reguilon to leave Tottenham

Despite attempts from the player’s side as well as Tottenham, the 27-year-old couldn’t secure a move away before 30th August’s deadline day. While the window in Europe’s top five leagues has been shut, it remains open in Turkiye until the 13th of September and is most likely the former Real Madrid graduate’s final opportunity to secure a move away.

Tottenham want to offload him and they have asked Reguilon to join a Turkish club in the coming days as staying at Spurs could see him sit on the sidelines until the window reopens in January. The 27-year-old is eager to join a club where he can play regular first-team football and moving to the Super Lig could help his cause. However, it won’t be that straightforward and with only a few days left in the Turkish transfer window, it is one to keep an eye on.
