Tottenham have established contact with the representatives of LOSC Lille forward Jonathan David.
The North London club are looking to reinforce their attack on a priority basis. Ange Postecoglou wants a new number nine who can lead his attack and provide support to Son Heung-min and Richarlison.
LOSC Lille’s Jonathan David is one of the names on their wishlist and according to a report from Football Insider, Spurs have already established contact with David’s agents as they look to bring him to London.
The Canadian international has been a part of the French club since the summer of 2020 and he has gone from strength to strength with every passing season. Last season, he was involved in 47 matches and ended up contributing towards 35 goals. The 24-year-old striker found the back of the net on 26 occasions and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed.
While Chelsea are also interested in the services of David who is currently playing for Canada at the Copa America, Tottenham are pushing hard for his signature as they look to finally sign a Harry Kane replacement after deciding against it last summer.
With David’s contract at Lille running out in 12 months’ time, Spurs do have a chance of prising him away. The French club have already informed the player that he can leave if an interested club meets their asking price. The North London club are working on agreeing personal terms. Spurs are also expected to begin negotiations with Lille soon.
If they can sign the Canadian international for a reasonable price this summer, it could prove to be a superb investment for the Premier League club.
