Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou could make a move for AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori in the summer transfer window - with the Aussie boss likely to revisit a move for his former target after a poor season on and off the pitch in north London.
Injuries have been a real issue for Postecoglou this season. Archie Gray has had to fill in at times alongside Ben Davies, but with the former Leeds United talent being a midfielder at heart, and Davies' contract set to expire in the summer, that has further highlighted the need for additions at the heart of the defence.
Report: Tottenham 'Plotting' Tomori Move in Summer
The club are in need of defensive recruits
As a result, Tottenham are looking to plot a move for Tomori in the summer, according to TEAMtalk - with the defender having a 'new' asking price slapped on him ahead of the transfer window.
The north London outfit have made signing a new centre-back 'a priority' this summer, amid injuries to Argentine defender Cristian Romero, breakthrough star Micky van de Ven and even to back-up man Radu Dragusin at various points throughout the Premier League season.
With that in mind, Tomori has been on Tottenham's radar for some time, and they held talks with Milan over a move in the January transfer window - though a move didn't materialise for the 27-year-old. And given that he has Premier League experience after spending time at Chelsea, his top-flight nous has put him at the 'top' of Tottenham's shortlist alongside fellow target Angel Gomes.
Tomori has been commended for his adaptibility to Serie A, and that led to Shaun Wright-Phillips labelling Tomori as 'outstanding'. It's thought that Spurs will move for him again in the summer, with a price tag of £26million set by Milan - reduced from the £34million that the Rossoneri were asking for in January.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Fikayo Tomori has five caps for England.
Tomori hasn't started consistently for Milan this season, which has seen their price tag reduced - and that could see them being 'open' to a sale. Milan are currently ninth in Serie A, nine points off the top four, and they could be forced to sell some players if they don't qualify for the Champions League - with Tomori being earmarked as one potential sale with talks to be 'held' in the coming weeks and Tomori being a player to keep a close eye on.
