Tottenham have confirmed they will face North London rivals Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong. The clash will be the first North London derby to played outside of the UK, treating fans in Asia to a pre-season spectacle.

The fixture will take place on Thursday, July 31, with the kick-off time to be confirmed at a later date. It will be hosted at Kai Tak Stadium, which is Hong Kong’s newest sports venue, holding 50,000 people, and it will be part of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2025.

Spurs say they will be supporting a number of good causes during their time in Hong Kong, including delivering football clinics for young people in the region.

A club statement read: We are pleased to announce a men’s first-team fixture against Arsenal in Hong Kong as part of our summer pre-season tour. The fixture will take place on Thursday 31 July, 2025, at the 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium, which opened in March 2025 as the city’s newest iconic sports & entertainment venue.

“An Open Training session will take place on Tuesday 29 July ahead of the match with ticketing details to follow in due course. As is Club tradition, players and staff will be engaging with our fans, supporting good causes, and celebrating local culture throughout our time in Hong Kong. We will also be activating with AIA, the Club’s Global Principal Partner, on the tour as part of its mission to deepen engagement with AIA communities across Asia and promote health and well-being. Alongside this, the Club’s Global Football Development coaches will deliver our renowned technical programme for local young players and coach education workshops, showcasing the authentic training methods developed within the Club’s Academy, helping young players to reach their full potential.”

Tottenham’s chief revenue officer Ryan Norys said: “There are few bigger occasions in English football than a north London derby and to play this fixture in Hong Kong will be a huge occasion for our passionate fanbase across Asia, as well as providing ideal preparation for the team ahead of the new season.

“As is tour tradition, the Club will be involved in so much more than the match itself when we visit, supporting charitable causes, celebrating local culture, delivering football clinics for young people and engaging with fans and partners. We cannot wait to visit such a beautiful place once again.”

Spurs are set to confirm their other pre-season fixtures in due course, with other games in Asia likely, while it remains to be seen whether they will travel to the US this time out. Premier League clubs typically play in either Asia, USA or both these days in a bid to grow their brands in those lucrative markets.
