London trio Crystal Palace, Tottenham and West Ham are all said to be interested in snapping up an emerging talent. It has been an underwhelming campaign for all three of those clubs so far this season, with Palace still stuck on one win and in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle.
Tottenham remain in touching distance of the top four, but largely thanks to inconsistencies from their rivals given the number of times they have already slipped up, including a defeat to newly promoted Ipswich Town over the weekend. As for the Hammers, Julen Lopetegui has had a tough time impressing fans during his first season, with the Hammers having only won three games, stuck in the bottom half of the table.
All three clubs could be on the lookout for new signings, if not in January then certainly next summer. According to GIVEMESPORT, all three are interested in a deal to land Lens midfielder Andy Diouf. The 21-year-old has been with Lens since arriving from Basel last year, making 36 league appearances since.
Diouf is a France under-21s international, and he recently represented his nation as part of the Olympics team, making three appearances during the tournament. According to reports, Tottenham have already sent scouts to watch Diouf, specifically at Lens’ Conference League clash with Panathinaikos in August.
Meanwhile, West Ham could do with more legs in midfield, struggling in that area this season, while Palace have been left exposed with the injuries suffered by Adam Wharton and Jefferson Lerma in recent weeks and months. That could lead them to signing a new middle man in the not too distant future.
It’s unclear how much Lens will ask for Diouf, but the midfielder joined the French club for £11.6million last summer, and his stock has certainly risen since then. Transfermarkt value the midfielder at £7.5million, but actual market value is usually significantly more than such values due to the potential on offer, especially when it comes to young players.
