Tottenham are said to be pushing for a bargain midfielder with the new season drawing closer.
Tottenham are ramping up their preparations for the new Premier League season, now back in London and preparing to face Bayern Munich for the second time in the space of a week. Ange Postecoglou enjoyed a solid first season with the club, but he knows his side need to step it up next term as they look to land a top four finish.
Spurs missed out to Aston Villa last season and will spend the current campaign balancing their top four efforts with Europa League football. In a bid to strengthen their current squad, Tottenham have re-signed Timo Werner on loan and added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall on permanent deals. Yang Min-hyuk and George Feeney have also been signed up with a view to making an impact in the future.

With the new season drawing closer, Tottenham are still looking to add new signings to their squad as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and Villa, also well aware that the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle United and Chelsea could return to thick of the top four action.
Richardson hopes
With that in mind, Foot Mercato have reported that Tottenham are pushing for a deal to sign Reims star Amir Richardson. The 22-year-old, who is a box-to-box midfielder, is rated as one of the best young midfielders in Ligue 1, and it’s reported Spurs have kept a very close eye on his performances at the Olympics in Paris. Richardson has been representing Morocco, and he will compete for a bronze medal against Egypt this week after Monday night’s defeat to Spain.
L’Equipe say Richardson has an asking price of 10million euro (£8.5m) this summer, with Reims unwilling to sell on the cheap with the 22-year-old under contract until 2027.
Thee good news for Tottenham is that they may be able to snap up Richardson without putting themselves in any kind of hole. That’s because Emerson Royal looks set to complete his move to AC Milan. Fabrizio Romano has reported “AC Milan’s current proposal for Emerson Royal, worth €15m plus add-ons. Negotiations with Tottenham remain at final stages, working to get it finally done in the next days. Spurs started exploring new RB options this week.”

That means Tottenham could make a profit between the two deals, albeit they still need to find a new right-back, while they also need to add a striker this summer. Current frontman Richarlison continues to face an uncertain future
