Tottenham are pushing to offload Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ahead of next season.

The North London are focused on doing everything in their power to ensure Ange Postecoglou has a strong squad at his disposal to help them secure a top-four finish next season. While the focus is on signing the right players to add more quality, Tottenham are also looking to get rid of a few of their senior players who are not a part of their plans moving ahead.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is quite high on that list and according to Paul O Keefe, Spurs are pushing hard to get the Danish international off their books this summer. The 28-year-old only has a year left on his deal at the North London club and they are looking to cash in on him. They want to avoid a situation where he walks away for free. As a result, they are looking for a fee just shy of £12 million to sanction his departure.

Hojbjerg joined Spurs back in 2020 after proving himself in the English top flight with Southampton. While he was integral to their plans in the initial years, a lot has changed since the arrival of Postecoglou. The former Bayern Munich midfielder has gone down the pecking order. While he was involved in 39 matches last season, he was on the pitch for less than 1,500 minutes.

With just a year left on his deal, Hojbjerg is keen on a new challenge. He seeks regular first-team football something that is no longer possible at Tottenham. Both parties have mutually agreed that his future does not lie at Spurs, and parting ways is in the best interest of everyone involved. Given his recent performances at the Euro, the North London club are hoping that an interest club meets their demands for the services of the Danish midfield powerhouse.
