Tottenham are reportedly monitoring Jack Grealish’s situation as the January transfer window begins.
The 29-year-old has struggled to hold down a starting spot at Manchester City with half of his appearances this season coming from the bench.
Grealish’s output has been affected with the former Aston Villa captain having registered just two assists – both made in September.
The England international is without a goal in over 12 months having registered just three goals during City’s 2023/24 title-winning campaign.
According to the Daily Mail, Grealish could leave City this month, with both Spurs and Newcastle both keeping tabs on his situation.
The report claims that Kyle Walker is also considering his options ahead of a possible exit.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola previously dismissed the notion of player departures in January but the prospect of increased game time could prove too tempting for Grealish, in particular.
It is also reported that any move for Grealish from Spurs is likely to be a short-term loan on the condition that City continue to pay a large portion of his £300,000-a-week wages.
That would see him eclipse Heung-min Son as Tottenham’s highest earner if a move to north London was to materialise.
A link-up with Ange Postecoglou would not come as a surprise to talkSPORT’s Troy Deeney who recently tipped Grealish to move to Spurs in the event of a departure from the Premier League champions.
Asked who Grealish could potentially join if he opted to leave City, Deeney stated: "Spurs, he walks into that team in every position.
"Whether that's as a winger, No.10 or No.8. Arsenal, no, I don't think he works at Arsenal. Liverpool, he doesn't at Liverpool.
"He's obviously not going to go to Manchester United, but he's better than what they've got.
"Anyone outside the top four, he would easily go into and dominate, if he went to Newcastle, it would be considered a massive step down for him.
"But it's a great club with a great fanbase and I think Jack needs to feel that again, feel that he's loved, feel that the fanbase love him, but also he's the man to drive them forward."
Grealish is midway through the six-year contract he signed when joining Manchester City for a British transfer record £100million fee from Aston Villa.
Tottenham’s interest in Grealish dates back to 2018 when they tried to sign him after Aston Villa missed out on promotion back to the Premier League.
Spurs tabled a £25m bid, a whopping £15m below Villa’s valuation of £40m.
Grealish's last appearance for Man City came before Christmas as he played 90 minutes and was booked against his former club.
Since then, he's missed a game through illness and played no part in a long-awaited win over Leicester.
The winger will be hoping to feature in City's next clash which will come against West Ham at the Etihad on January 4.
Should Tottenham make a move for Grealish, the fixtures at the start of 2025 could be he last for the reigning champions.
