Tottenham Hotspur are set for a triple fitness boost ahead of their home clash with Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.
United are back in action when they travel to North London on Sunday afternoon and will hope for revenge against a side who have already beaten them twice this season. Spurs know a huge improvement is required from recent weeks after they crashed out of two cup competitions in the space of just four days with away defeats to Liverpool in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup and to Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round.
The pressure is building on Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou ahead of the match, but he is reportedly set to be boosted by a timely triple fitness boost for the visit of United. Here is the latest team news ahead of the clash:
Tottenham set for triple boost
Tottenham are hopeful Destiny Udogie, James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario will all be available for their home match against United this weekend. The Times claim the injured trio are all expected to return to training this week and it is hoped they could all be in contention to feature at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Postecoglou has given two days off to all the players who started in the FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa at the weekend and hopes the lighter schedule over the next fortnight can help improve performances.
“The ones who have been playing, we’ve got to give them some time off. We’ve got the early part of the week and we’ll give them some time off,” the Tottenham manager said. “The boys who are coming back, we’ll get the opportunity to give them a whole week of training which is great. So come Tuesday we should have three or four who have been missing. We can give them a full week of training instead of a couple of sessions before throwing them in.”
