Mikey Moore is on course to enjoy his breakthrough campaign at Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur have changed their transfer recruitment policy in recent years. Daniel Levy has focused on investing in prodigious talents who will repay their value in the long term.

The Lilywhites have not only tried buying teenage talents from outside but also integrated academy products into the senior setup. One such player is Mikey Moore, in whom our head coach Ange Postecoglou and the club have put a lot of faith.

The teenager has started his professional journey with the first team at White Hart Lane in impressive style. Having turned 17 in August, Mikey Moore has started getting opportunities with the senior squad. Last season, he got four cameo appearances in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou, and this campaign the left-winger has already made eight appearances across all competitions.

Moore has also made three starts, with one of those coming in the shock 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The Southwark-born talent impressed against Ferencvaros in Hungary in his full debut for the club, playing a part in both of Tottenham’s goals in the 2-0 win in October. He was notably excellent in the 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League, with teammate James Maddison jokingly likening his style of play to Brazilian international Neymar.

The 17-year-old wants to play down such comparisons, asserting he is still very young and there is a ‘lot more to do’.

Spurs appear to have struck gold in the form of Moore. As one of the most promising prospects in Tottenham’s famed academy, the England under-19 international is carving an incredible path for himself. Showcasing his trickery, flair and pace, the teenage sensation has shown glimpses of his scary potential in the first team this season, leaving the fans and pundits alike in wonder.
