Tottenham have suffered yet another setback after it was confirmed that Radu Dragusin has picked up an ACL injury,. as first reported by The Athletic.

The Romanian, who has been filling in at the back due to injuries to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, will now sit out the rest of the season, after the extent of his injury was revealed.

Dragusin went down during the game with Elfsborg in the Europa League, having initially been given a well-deserved rest with van de Ven making his return to the starting XI.

It was agreed that van de Ven would only be given 45 minutes, meaning Dragusin was always going to come on and he suffered a knee injury late in the second half. Tottenham secured safe passage into the last 16 of the Europa League in that game thanks to a 3-0 win, with the goasl coming from academy graduates Dane Scarlett, Damola Ajayi and Mikey Moore.

Dragusin has now been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury, adding to Ange Postecoglou's woes at the back. The 22-year-old is now set to have surgery on the injury and will look to return to action ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Spurs did sign Kevin Danso from Lens this week, to bolster their defensive options, with the club keen to add another signing to their ranks before the transfer window closes on Monday night.
