Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in signing Fiorentina striker Moise Kean this summer to add firepower to Ange Postecoglou's struggling side.

Spurs brought in Mathys Tel at the end of January, working hard to ensure that a loan deal with Bayern Munich came with the option to buy. The London outfit can sign the 19-year-old for £45 million at the end of the current campaign.

The talented teenager prefers to play on the wing with Dominic Solanke still the only out-and-out central striker option for Postecoglou. Richarlison can play in that position too but has also historically been deployed on the flank.

Both the England and Brazil internationals have proven to be injury prone this season and are both currently nursing knocks. That has underlined a potential need for talisman recruitment during the next window.

Tottenham transfer interest pushes Fiorentina into contract talks

Solanke has done the business when fit, with 11 goals in all competitions, but has missed nine fixtures so far this season. Spurs paid £65 million to sign the player from AFC Bournemouth last summer.

A fresh report from Corriere dello Sport claims that Tottenham Hotspur are looking at a move for Kean. Arsenal are also keen and the transfer interest from the north London rivals is now claimed to be enough to have urged the Serie A outfit into contract negotiations with their striker.

The 24-year-old has 19 goals in all competitions this season in an impressive campaign and is currently the second top scorer in the Serie A. Kean would come to the top flight with Premier League experience, but his last efforts in the division were somewhat of a flop.

Everton signed the player for around £23 million in 2019 but Kean only ever scored four goals in 39 appearances for the side before loan spells at PSG and Juventus, eventually joining the Italian side permanently in 2023.

Kean endured ‘flop’ period at Everton

Kean has a £43 million release clause in his Fiorentina contract but would be somewhat of a risky signing for that fee given his struggles with the pace of the Premier League previously. The striker was once hauled off just 19 minutes after coming on for Everton in one disastrous moment and had also been left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons.

Speaking about the player in 2019, Ancelotti said: "He did really well last year [in Italy]. We were involved, when I was in Napoli, to try to buy him. He signed for Everton. I think he is a really good player with a lot of talent. He showed fantastic talent last year with Juventus, even if he didn't play a lot.

"But he is 19 years old and for every player that changes country, changes teams, they need adaptation. We have to wait and we have to work on him to improve his quality and be a better professional. But he has top quality."

In other news, Tottenham Hotspur could welcome back several first team players from injury against Manchester United this weekend.
