Tottenham are reportedly among a host of clubs keen to profit from Leon Bailey's situation at Aston Villa this summer, according to TBR Football.
The Jamaican international was a key player for the Villans last term, making over 50 appearances in all competitions and registering a remarkable 14 goals and 13 assists. However, despite being rewarded with a new contract for his performances, his influence in the first-team has waned this season.
With Marco Asensio impressing in his loan spell, Aston Villa could be prepared to cash in on Bailey, and there are believed to be a number of interested suitors in England and overseas.
Tottenham Eyeing Move for Villa Ace Bailey
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order this season
As per TBR Football, Spurs could be forced to compete with the likes of Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Marseille and Manchester United in their pursuit of a deal for Bailey.
Aston Villa signed the winger for a £25 million fee in 2021 from Bayer Leverkusen after his stunning displays in the Bundesliga. He is still regarded highly in Germany, despite his drop-off in form this term, hence the interest from numerous top-division clubs in the country.
Tottenham were weighing up the prospect of pushing for a deal for Bailey in the dying embers of the January transfer window as a response to their ongoing injury crisis, as revealed exclusively by GIVEMESPORT sources. They decided against the move in the end, but their interest may well reignite this summer.
Previously described as "unbelievable", Bailey could be a useful coup for Ange Postecoglou's squad. The Lillywhites are set to part ways with Timo Werner this summer, and could also send youngster Wilson Odobert on a loan for more playing time, which would leave them thin on the flanks.
However, Bailey's hefty £120,000-per-week salary could be an obstacle in negotiations, as such a wage would place the wide man fourth on their list of highest-paid players.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are keeping their winger options open, and have also firmed their interest in Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling with Daniel Levy eager to close a deal, according to exclusive GIVEMESPORT sources.
