Paul Robinson believes that Tottenham Hotspur may pay in the summer window for their poor showing this season, with the former Spurs number one making an ominous prediction about the club’s transfer activity.

This summer is expected to see major changes at the North London club, with Ange Postecoglou set to be sacked even if Spurs win the Europa League.

According to reports over recent weeks, wholesale changes are also expected in Tottenham’s structure, with the medical, recruitment and sports science departments set to be reviewed.

Various sources have said that there could also be an exodus of players from the club, and not the kind that Spurs fans would want.

Paul Robinson predicts a painful summer for Tottenham

While it goes without saying that some of the fringe players will leave, the bigger concern for the North London club is that their best players are being linked with a move away.

Cristian Romero is thought to want to leave Tottenham while it has been suggested that Rodrigo Bentancur’s future at Spurs is in doubt.

Over recent days, it has been reported that Dejan Kulusevski is hesitant to sign a new contract while it has been alleged that Pedro Porro is being eyed by the likes of Man City.

Reacting to these transfer rumours, Robinson has now told Football Insider: “Tottenham’s season’s been poor, let’s not sugarcoat it – if they don’t get Europe, I think you’ll see a lot of players jumping ship.

“There’s a leadership vacuum – Ange [Postecoglou] started brightly, but since the injuries, it’s all fallen apart… You can’t have this many collapses and expect the same squad to be committed next season.”

Could Daniel Levy stop an exodus of key players from Spurs?

Following their latest loss against Liverpool, Tottenham have now suffered more defeats than they have in any other 38-game Premier League season.

There are usually repercussions when a club underperforms as abjectly as Ange Postecoglou’s men have this season, and it is only natural that the best players at N17 are starting to have their heads turned.
