Transfer news LIVE!

Arsenal are preparing to raise their transfer offer for Mikel Merino after Real Sociedad rejected an initial £21.5million approach for the midfielder, who will sit out their LaLiga opener this weekend amid Edu flying out for talks in Spain. Merino is the Gunners’ top target ahead of a busy end to the summer window for Premier League clubs.

Chelsea are busy trying to cut deals for Victor Osimhen with Napoli and Joao Felix with Atletico Madrid, which would see Romelu Lukaku and Conor Gallagher head in the respective opposite directions. Manchester United have lost out on Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana to AC Milan amid their midfielder hunt, with Frenkie de Jong reportedly not a target as they consider Sander Berge and Manuel Ugarte.
