Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest transfer target Yoane Wissa has admitted it would be 'a dream' to play for a top six club amid reports of a potential exit from Brentford before Deadline Day next week.

The Brentford talisman has bagged 11 Premier League goals already this season and is enjoying an impressive campaign at the Gtech Community Stadium. The Evening Standard carried the latest reports of interest in the striker's services from top flight rivals Spurs and Forest.

Nottingham Forest have already seen a £22 million bid rejected by Brentford last week and the outlet claims that the West London outfit have slapped a £40 million price tag on the striker. Should an offer in that ballpark come in, a potential exit could be given the green light.

Brentford star open to transfer

Wissa is contracted at Brentford until 2026, having arrived from Lorient in 2021. Thomas Frank has tried to play down rumours of a sale this month. When asked about a Wissa exit, the Bees boss said: "Good luck. That'll never happen."

Nonetheless, speaking on French channel Canal+ this week, Wissa was less concrete about his future at Brentford. When asked if there had indeed been a bid for him, the 28-year-old said: "There's interest. If there's a transfer in progress I can't really say. It's true there's been interest since the summer. Brentford are having a great season, and so am I. At the moment I'm just thinking about Brentford and we'll see what happens."

Wissa's strike partner Bryan Mbeumo has also been linked with a transfer exit, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in the player. However, that does not seem likely to be a move that is sanctioned this month.

Asked if he would like to play for a club in the top six, Wissa replied: "Why not? We have the chance of playing in the Premier League and things happen quickly. Right now, it's a dream but the most important is to enjoy myself and be decisive to succeed."

A move to Nottingham Forest would likely provide an immediate chance to do just that. Nuno Espirito Santo is overseeing a head-turning season at the City Ground with Forest currently third in the Premier League and pushing for Champions League football.

Tottenham Hotspur languish down in 15th after a torrid run of form, four places behind Brentford. A move to North London would see Wissa have to wait for that top six dream.

Ange Postecoglou wants Spurs transfers

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has urged the club to complete signings before Deadline Day to help reverse recent results. When asked if there was money to spend, Postecoglou replied: "I don't ask those questions. It's not something I'm involved in, it's not something I have exposure to.

"My discussions with Johan and the club have been about trying to get some help for the players and I'll let them do their jobs. I've still got to manage this team and get them ready. We got back at 2am last night. I'm not out there trying to find opportunities for the club, that's not my role at this time. There isn't time to do it.

"I have daily communication with Johan in particular and he's trying everything he possibly can to get the help we need.

"I don't think I'm stating anything other than the obvious and for me to come here and say something else would be disingenuous. This playing group needs help, there's no doubt about that. We're sort of playing with fire by not bringing anyone in, but the flip side of that is the club is trying to change that situation."

In other news, a Chelsea midfielder has agreed a deal with a Championship club amid interest from QPR, Sunderland and West Brom.
