In a reaction to their abysmal run of form and availability crisis, Tottenham Hotspur have already taken to the January transfer window to sign Antonin Kinsky.

Kinsky arrives at Tottenham to immediately compete with Guglielmo Vicario, not just act as his backup once he returns from injury.

Ange Postecoglou convinced Kinsky to join, a 21-year-old who is considered to have a lot of potential, in fitting with the majority of players who have arrived in the last 12 months.

Of course, Spurs have a lot more issues to fix in addition to their goalkeeping spot, with there also being a glaring lack of depth in defence and attack.

Tottenham still planning to back Ange Postecoglou in January

Fortunately, well-regarded journalist David Ornstein has now provided an update on Tottenham’s plans for the rest of the January window whilst reporting for NBC Sports.

In his update, Ornstein also confirmed that Postecoglou’s job was completely safe, outlining the club’s plans to continue to back their manager, who has been unlucky with injuries.

Ornstein said: “They want to do more business in January, they would like to strengthen their defence and also their attack – less so their midfield because they’ve not been suffering from such injuries in that department.

“I think some loans are on the agenda, nothing imminent but conversations are in progress and possibly some permanent deals even, if it could be like Kinsky when they bring it forward, that they were already planning from the summer.

“They have no PSR issues, that means the finances are there for them to do something, and they’ve also got a lot of players to come back from injury, the likes of Richarlison and Mikey Moore are not too far away.

“And then the centre-backs who have been out, Romero and Van de Ven – I think towards the end of January, and then Vicario I think late February, into March.

“Ange Postecoglou is 100% safe in his job I’m told, there is no uncertainty over his future despite the pressure he appears to be feeling in some of his public comments – they’re backing him to lead this project forward and they will hope that he delivers.

“They’ve got a chance of a League Cup trophy, a Europa League trophy – they’re focusing on that, and they’re also fighting to get into the top four, although they’re realistic about their chances on that too.”

Tottenham already in talks for next signing after Antonin Kinsky

Although it might not be a priority signing, Tottenham are interested in a midfielder, a player who Crystal Palace are also interested in bringing to London.

Clearly, Spurs will be busy this month as Daniel Levy and Johan Lange attempt to improve the squad depth available to Postecoglou.

Some in N17 will still feel as if Postecoglou hasn’t had a fair chance since he arrived, mostly owing to the unusual amount of injuries the club have suffered in his time.

And whilst the Tottenham boss often cuts a frustrated figure right now, perhaps he’ll be feeling much more content at the beginning of February.
