Tottenham Hotspur had to settle for a point in the end against AS Roma with Mats Hummels scoring a late equaliser.
It was a typically thrilling display from Ange Postecoglou’s side who had the fans on the edge of their seats in north London.
After taking the lead early on in the game through a Heung-min Son penalty, Tottenham were pegged back Roma who did not take long to equalise.
However, Brennan Johnson added to what has been a stunning start to the season with yet another goal to his name, before Spurs conceded again in the dying minutes.
Postecoglou recently hailed Johnson after the win over West Ham ahead of the latest international break.
But it seems as if the Wales international did something on Thursday night against Roma which did not impress the Spurs manager.
How Brennan Johnson angered Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou
Johnson showed his quality with another well-taken goal which was created by the in-form Dejan Kulusevski.
Speaking on TNT Sports, Glenn Hoddle reacted as Postecoglou vented his anger at Johnson towards the end of the first half.
‘Just looking at Ange there. He is not happy with Johnson,’ said Hoddle.
‘He wanted some sort of movement at some stage in that build up and he’s really upset I have not seen him like that. Look [he’s telling him] ‘go, go. What are you doing? Run in behind!’
Ironically, Johnson hailed his relationship with Postecoglou just the other week as he admitted the Australian continuously pushes him for more.

There may have been some question marks about Johnson following his showings in his first campaign at Spurs, but he’s certainly answering them now.
Johnson admitted he’s been working with Ryan Mason behind the scenes to improve at Hotspur Way and the results are showing.
It has still been a turbulent season for the winger after Johnson deleted his social media accounts after abuse from some fans.
But the £48m Johnson now looks like a real star in this Tottenham side despite not even making the starting XI on the weekend against Manchester City.
