James Maddison has revealed both he and Mikey Moore had to walk to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ahead of the Carabao Cup win over Manchester City on Wednesday.

The duo were named on the bench as a much-changed side defeated the Premier League leaders 2-1 thanks to first-half goals from Timo Werner and Pape Sarr.

Now, Maddison has revealed how both he and Moore nearly missed kick-off due to being stuck in traffic in North London and were required to walk the last mile of the journey to the ground.

However, the England international claims fans were oblivious to their presence as they remained incognito amongst match-goers in N17.

Taking to Instagram on Friday night, Maddison shared footage of both he and Moore making their way to the ground, writing: "Traffic was that bad, me and Mike Moore had to walk the last mile as we got stuck in standstill traffic and weren't moving.

"Actually loved walking past the public and on the streets to the ground with the fans. Reminded me of going to watch Coventry with my dad as a boy. No one had a clue did they, Mikey Moore."

Tottenham will face a home tie against Manchester United in the quarter-finals.
