The Italian has joined in a £100million package deal from Premier League rivals Newcastle, and he follows Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke and Mateus Fernandes through the entrance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The north London side reportedly had an initial bid of £80m ($107m) knocked back by the Magpies, but finally reached a breakthrough with a structured deal worth £92.5m upfront plus a further £7.5m in performance-related add-ons.
Tottenham could still allow some high-profile players to leave the club this summer as they look to at least partly balance their spending. It has been a record summer already for Spurs, who have spent more than they ever have in a single window, splashing out more than £230million.
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali for a club-record fee which could reach £100million (€117m / $133m), while a first-team star has also agreed a move to Italy.
