breaking bid for Bundesliga winger and blow Arsenal away

Tottenham are one of several Premier League clubs interested in Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens and could reportedly break their transfer record to sign him.

Spurs have made signing a new winger one of their top priorities for the summer as they plan ahead for the departure of Son Heung-min, who is out of contract in 2026.

Tottenham are in a strong position in terms of PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules) and will be able to spend big this summer, even if they miss out on European football.

According to respected journalist Christian Falk, Spurs are primed to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal for Dortmund’s 20-year-old superstar winger Gittens.

“Dortmund crashed in the league, the Champions League is getting further and further away, and with that the income from the Champions League next season,” Falk told SportBILD.

“They have to win it to be in it again. If they miss out, they’ll have to sell players and Gittens is highly regarded. Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be offering €100m. You have to say that would be nice money.

“Hans-Joachim Watzke [Dortmund’s CEO] recently admitted that they will have to sell one or two players if they miss out on the Champions League. So, a transfer for Gittens could happen.

“The English have the money; they have the TV contracts. Bayern Munich won’t pay this summer, and they could have him with that. But yes, Tottenham I think they’ll bet big.”

Tottenham could smash transfer record with Gittens swoop

Dortmund are indeed having a very disappointing season and currently sit 11th in the Bundesliga table – eight points outside the top four.

Gittens, however, has held his own and notched 11 goals and four assists across all competitions so far this term, hence why a number of top sides are tracking him.

Tottenham could capitalise on Dortmund’s situation in the summer and the suggestion from Falk is that they’d be willing to pay up to €100m (£82.8m, $104.7m) to sign Gittens.

The youngster would become Spurs’ most expensive signing of all-time if this does happen. That title is currently held by Dominic Solanke, who Tottenham signed from Bournemouth for £65m last summer.

As we reported on Wednesday, Arsenal are also admirers of Gittens and one German coach has tipped the Gunners to win the race for his signature.

With this in mind, it’ll be interesting to see who makes the first concrete move in the race for the Dortmund star and how high his suitors are willing to go with a bid.

Ange Postecoglou sack: Tottenham pick replacement first

Tottenham could reportedly face competition from Real Madrid if they try to appoint Andoni Iraola, with a separate report revealing that another top Premier League club are looking at the Bournemouth manager.

Iraola has been superb as the Bournemouth boss since he was appointed in the role at the Vitality Stadium in the summer of 2023. While the Cherries initially did not do well under the 42-year-old Spaniard, they are now flying and are in the race for the Champions League spots in the Premier League table.

TEAMtalk’s transfer correspondent Fraser Fletcher reported in January that Iraola is one of the managers that Tottenham would consider if they were to sack Ange Postecoglou.

TalkSPORT reported this week that the young Spaniard is the top candidate to replace Postecoglou should Spurs decide to sack the former Celtic boss.

However, Tottenham are now facing a major headache in terms of hiring Iraola, as Spanish giants Madrid are eyeing the impressive Bournemouth manager.

According to The Daily Mail, Madrid have put Iraola on their shortlist of managers should Carlo Ancelotti leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso is the other main candidate for the managerial role at Madrid.

The Daily Mail has noted that Bayer’s CEO, Fernando Carro, said this week that he expects Alonso to stay at the German club beyond the end of the season.

With Iraola having just 18 months left on his current contract at Bournemouth, Madrid would fancy their chances of tempting the 42-year-old former Athletic Bilbao and Spain international right-back to the Bernabeu.

Madrid are doing well under Ancelotti at the moment and could win LaLiga and the Champions League this season, just as they did in the 2023-24 campaign.

However, there was speculation in the Spanish media in January that Ancelott has decided to leave his role at Los Blancos at the end of the season.

The former Chelsea and AC Milan boss, though, has since publicly said that he has made no such plans.

Manchester City also linked with Andoni Iraola

It is not just that Tottenham and Madrid who have been linked with Iraola, who has led Bournemouth to fifth in the Premier League table this season.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City could also consider Iraola if Pep Guardiola decides to leave.

While Guardiola recently signed a new long-term contract with Man City, with the team having a poor season, there is always the danger of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager deciding to call it quits.

Iraola was reportedly on Man City’s list of managerial candidates before Guardiola committed his long-term future to the Cityzens.

Latest Tottenham news: Son Heung-min exit, Eze race

Tottenham are in danger of losing Son Heung-min in the summer transfer window.

Son is one of the longest-serving players at Tottenham, but there is speculation that Saudi Pro League clubs Al Ittihad and Al Hilal are interested in a deal for the South Korean forward.

If Son does leave Spurs, then the north London club will try to sign Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham are reportedly leading the race for the Crystal Palace star, with Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal also keen on him.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are reportedly expected to make a move for Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling.

With Southampton doomed for relegation to the Championship, it is unlikely that Dibling will be at the Saints next season.

Southampton are said to be open to selling Dibling, but Spurs will have to pay over £50million for him.

Tottenham transfer: Positive signs star striker will 'commit' to Spurs, as Man Utd succession plan shattered

Tottenham reportedly feel they will be able to ‘persuade’ Mathys Tel to join the club permanently, as he is ‘loving life’ in north London and that’s a state of mind the club wants to see remain.

Spurs ended the January transfer window with the loan signing of Tel. They hold an option to make his stay permanent for £45million (€54.3m/$56.9m).

Their ability to convince him to stay might have been questioned, since he was initially reported to have turned down the move when Tottenham agreed it with Bayern Munich, before, with no options left, the striker agreed to join at the back end of the window.

Since then, Tel has scored his first goal for Spurs, and showed a lot of promise in the 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League – playing 90 minutes in both games so far.

As a result, Tottenham are said to be ‘growing in optimism’ regarding their chances of holding onto Tel.

It’s believed he is ‘loving life’ in north London, and enjoying the culture at the club. With that said, Spurs feel they will be able to ‘persuade’ Tel to stay if they can keep him in his current frame of mind.

Man Utd succession plan shattered

If Tel remains at Spurs, he will obviously not be able to head to Manchester United.

But the option of doing so seemed to be on his mind as soon as he headed to Spurs, and may have had a say in him rejecting them initially, given United were said to be in the market for him, before deciding not to make the move in January.

Indeed, once he signed for Spurs, it was reported by Christian Falk that Tel “would like to” make the step to United “if he can”.

Though that ambition might still be there, the longer he enjoys his time at Tottenham, the less chance it seems there is that he’ll want to go anywhere else, and the club are seemingly aware of that currently.

It may help that the north London outfit are 12th in the Premier League, while United are 15th. That could all change quickly though, given there’s only a point separating the clubs.

Tottenham round-up: Son offers coming

Tottenham will reportedly receive offers from a pair of Saudi Pro League sides for Heung-min Son, who will have just a year left on his deal when the £41.4million bids come in during the summer.

It’s amid the suggestion that Spurs feel the winger may continue to slowly decline and may not even be a starter for much longer.

Meanwhile, there is reportedly a “willingness” for Harry Kane to return to Tottenham in the event that he comes back to England.

And if Son is to leave Tottenham, Eberechi Eze could potentially take his place, with Spurs said to be leading the pack for him, having already put in some of the groundwork for that move.

Tottenham to receive tempting €50m bid for major star they fear is finished

Description

Tottenham fear captain Son Heung-min is finished as an elite-level footballer, and a report claims two clubs are prepared to hand Spurs an agonising decision with bids of up to €50m.

Son is a bona fide Tottenham legend and currently sits fifth in the club’s all-time top scorers list. With Martin Chivers (174) just two goals ahead, Son should take fourth spot over the coming months.

Spurs activated the one-year option in Son’s deal in January, ensuring the iconic winger is tied down for one more season at least.

However, now aged 32, Son has looked a fading force this season and per GMS, Tottenham are increasingly concerned their talisman will never get back to being the offensive threat he once was.

Accordingly, it was claimed Son may have to accept a bench role next season, with loanee Mathys Tel lined up as the potential new starter on the left side. Spurs hold an option to turn Tel’s move permanent in the summer to the tune of £45m.

But according to a fresh update from CaughtOffside, Tottenham could be handed an even more agonising decision than whether to bench their captain.

It’s claimed Saudi Arabian sides Al Ittihad and Al Hilal ‘are both keen’ on signing Son in the upcoming summer.

What’s more, the pair are said to be ‘willing to pay as much as €50m for the South Korea international.’

€50m equates to £41.4m and is an extraordinary sum for a declining winger who’ll turn 33 before the start of next season. And if the report from GMS is accurate, Tottenham are well aware Son is on the downslope.

Nonetheless, it’s claimed Spurs’ preference at this stage would be to reject any approaches they receive for their skipper.

But if Son continues to struggle in the remaining months of the season and a healthy bid of around €50m is lodged, they could quickly change their mind and cash in while they still can.

Tottenham line up Son replacement?

According to TBR Football, Spurs could reignite their interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze if Son departs.

The versatile Eze can operate in a variety of attacking roles and wouldn’t be viewed as a like-for-like replacement on the left wing.

As previously mentioned, that spot could go to Mathys Tel if his loan is turned into a permanent deal.

But Eze would provide Ange Postecoglou with a new creative force capable of racking up both goals and assists and the 26-year-old is now viewed as a ‘top target’ in north London.

Eze’s deal at Selhurst Park contains a £68m release clause that re-activates in the summer.

It was active last summer, though despite widespread interest – including from Tottenham – no club triggered it.

Tottenham are reportedly leading the pack for Eberechi Eze, who is one of their main targets for the summer, as the entourage of Heung-min Son are ‘accepting’ that Spurs are looking into replacements.

Spurs are one of a number of clubs linked with Eze in recent times. The Crystal Palace playmaker has been directly involved in 29 goals in the past season and a half.

He has been a linchpin for his side since moving there in 2020, and that he’s gone from strength to strength suggests a jump to a bigger club could see him improve further.

TBRFootball states Tottenham‘s transfer plans are ‘starting to advance’ already, and Eze is one of their top targets. In fact, it’s believed they have already done work on his signing, leading to them currently being at the head of the queue.

Their interest in Eze being ramped up comes amid the uncertainty over current forward Son’s future.

Though he has an extra year, with his deal running until 2026, Spurs’ board stopped an extension beyond that, with a separate TBRFootball report stating the club are ‘concerned Son will struggle to rediscover his best form’ and may lose his place as a starter.

What’s more, the forward’s camp ‘accepts’ that Tottenham are looking at forward options, in a sign that he may no longer be at the forefront of their plans.

DON’T MISS: SEVEN Tottenham players fighting for their futures amid frenzied Ange Postecoglou sack talk

Tottenham could have many forward options

If Eze was signed, Spurs would have options to potentially replace Son. The Palace man has often played on the left of the attack or as a left midfielder, though he is seemingly most comfortable as an attacking-midfielder.

If he was needed to fill the gap on the left, he’d do a good job, having had success there with Palace, but there could be other options.

A recent report stated current loanee Mathys Tel is being lined up as a ‘long-term replacement’ for Son. Tel has played as the central striker so far at Spurs – amid the injury to Dominic Solanke – and has looked sharp, but is just as capable on the left.

As such, with Solanke back, Tel could be shifted out left, and the same could happen next season if he is signed by using the option to buy for £45million (€54.3m/$56.6m).

There are also the options of attackers Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson. If Spurs continue to sign forward talent, the less chance it seems there is that Son’s role will stay a prominent one.

Tottenham round-up: Kane return mooted

After the reveal that Harry Kane could return to the Premier League due to a clause in his Bayern Munich deal, insider Ben Jacobs has stated there “is a willingness” to go back to Tottenham if the striker does come back to his homeland.

That move could wreck the plans of clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Spurs are planning a big splash for Borussia Dortmund man Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

And, Roy Keane has been slammed for an “unprovoked” attack on Tottenham attacking-midfielder James Maddison, who has not had as bad a season as Keane made out when tearing into him, with Gabby Agbonlahor stating there was “no need” for it.

Tottenham get green light to sign dazzling winger for ‘in excess of £50m’

Tottenham are ‘expected’ to make a move for a winger who’ll cost ‘in excess of £50m to sign’, and a report has detailed why a sale has been authorised.

Tottenham did provide Ange Postecoglou with three readymade additions in the winter window. Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel all arrived, though Spurs also sought to add Tyler Dibling to their attacking options too.

The Southampton winger, 19, has caught the eye with a string of lively displays on the south coast this season.

Tottenham have made a concerted effort to buy younger stars of late, with the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall followed by Kinsky and Tel last month.

Spurs explored Dibling’s signing before being told the Saints were not willing to do business in the winter window.

However, a fresh update from TBR Football claims Tottenham aren’t willing to take no for an answer. What’s more, Southampton won’t block a sale come the summer.

Explaining why, it’s claimed Dibling and his camp have made it crystal clear to Southampton that the winger will not sign a contract extension.

Dibling is under contract until 2027, though with a new deal seemingly ruled out, a sale at a time that maximises Southampton’s profits is almost inevitable.

The report claimed: ‘Tyler Dibling has already made it clear to Southampton that he will not sign a new contract at St Mary’s and the Saints are now ready to sell him.’

Dibling is a man in demand in the upper echelons of the Premier League, though it’s Spurs who front the queue at present.

Tottenham’s interest was described as ‘strong’ and the club ‘are expected to return for him in the summer.’

On the subject of cost, TBR Football stated Southampton aim to generate ‘in excess of £50m’ for their academy ace.

The club view Dibling in a similar situation to Romeo Lavia who was sold to Chelsea while aged 20 for £53m plus add-ons.

Latest Tottenham news – Son finished? / Double Leeds raid

In other news, GiveMeSport claim Tottenham are increasingly fearful Son Heung min’s days as an elite-level footballer are over.

Son has been below par this term and the 32-year-old may lose his place as a regular starter next season.

Per the report, loanee Mathys Tel – assuming Spurs activate their £45m option to buy – could become the new starting left winger.

Elsewhere, TEAMtalk can reveal Leeds United are hoping to strike deals for two Tottenham stars in the summer – Ben Davies and Manor Solomon.

The latter is currently thriving in a season-long loan at Elland Road, with his 14 goal contributions helping fire Leeds to the top of the Championship table.

Tottenham are growing increasingly concerned at the displays produced by Son Heung-min, with a report also detailing who Spurs’ likely starter on the left wing will be next season.

If Son were to retire today he’s already done more than enough to be considered a Tottenham legend. The 32-year-old winger sits fifth on the club’s all-time leading scorers list with 172 goals. Fourth-placed Martin Chivers on 174 should be surpassed at some stage this season.

Tottenham activated their one-year option in Son’s contract last month. As such, the club captain is under contract for the 2025/26 season.

However, according to a fresh update from GMS, Son may not be a regular starter next term.

It’s claimed Spurs are ‘worried’ by what they’ve seen from Son at various points throughout the current campaign.

Son has played more than most after largely going injury-free this year, though has returned just six goals in 22 Premier League appearances.

Accordingly, it’s claimed there are ‘question marks over whether he will remain one of the first names on the team sheet heading into next season.’

Wilson Odobert has returned to fitness and Brennan Johnson remains an option for the left side if Dejan Kulusevski continues to feature on the right wing.

But per GMS, Tottenham have a different player in mind to become the new starter on the left wing next year…

Son’s long-term replacement

Per the report, loanee Mathys Tel is being lined up as the ‘long-term replacement’ for Son on the left side.

Tottenham signed Tel from Bayern Munich in the winter window, with the 19-year-old arriving on an initial six-month loan.

Spurs successfully negotiated an option to buy into the agreement worth a reported €55m/£45m.

Tel has primarily played at centre-forward in the absence of Dominic Solanke so far. But per the report, Solanke will re-take the striker’s spot once fit, with Tel to compete with Son on the left wing.

And with Spurs harbouring concerns Son is past his prime, it may be Tel that wins the selection battle heading into next season – assuming his option to buy is activated, of course.

Latest Tottenham news – Harry Kane return? / Leeds want Spurs pair

In other news, reporter Ben Jacobs claimed Harry Kane is willing to return to Tottenham if he leaves Bayern Munich.

“I think if Kane returns to the Premier League, there is a willingness to go back to Spurs,” Jacobs told GMS.

“That’s not been ruled out by the player. We have to wait and see if there’s an appetite for Tottenham to do that deal, especially with Dominic Solanke.”

Tottenham teased over sensational Harry Kane return

Submitted by daniel on

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been told that ‘there is a willingness’ from all-time record goalscorer Harry Kane to return to the club at some point in the future.

Kane quit Spurs for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023 in his search for silverware, having notched an incredible 280 goals for the club in all competitions – 213 of them coming in the Premier League to leave him 47 behind record scorer Alan Shearer’s 260 mark.

Having already pulled 16 goals clear at the top of the England national team rankings, Kane still has that Premier League record on his agenda as he continues to be linked with a move back to his homeland.

Kane will have turned 32 by the time the 2025/26 season kicks off and rumours persist that he could end up back in England’s top flight sooner rather than later, with some rumours suggesting that a move to bitter north London rivals Arsenal could be on the cards.

He continues to be a force at an elite level of European football with Bayern, having scored 29 goals and added 10 assists in 30 games in all competitions this season.

Indeed, Kane himself admits he is happy in Bavaria as Bayern close in on regaining their Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen. Vincent Kompany’s men currently sit eight points clear at the summit with only 12 games remaining in the season.

However, one thing that Kane has not done is rule out a return to his beloved Tottenham, with the club known to have first refusal if he does decide to quit Bayern.

And journalist Ben Jacobs has added fuel to the fire of a return to N17 for the prolific frontman, telling Give Me Sport: “I think if Kane returns to the Premier League, there is a willingness to go back to Spurs.

“That’s not been ruled out by the player. We have to wait and see if there’s an appetite for Tottenham to do that deal, especially with Dominic Solanke.”

Kane return revolves around finances

On big issue for Tottenham if they are able to agree a return for Kane would be the finances involved.

While the club would almost certainly welcome the move, the cost of bankrolling such a return may not be to Kane’s liking as he enters the twilight years of his career.

Kane currently earns £400,000-a-week, which is double what he was on when he left Spurs and is a figure that would not work in the club’s current wage structure.

The England skipper could take a wage cut to make things work but it’s hard to see him knocking off half of what he earns just to be back in north London again.

The current highest earner at Tottenham is skipper Son Heung-min at £190,000-a-week followed closely by the likes of Cristian Romero and James Maddison.

Tottenham news: Incredible Spurs takeover 'done deal' claim made amid fever

Submitted by daniel on

Description

Presenter Richard Keys claims to have inside knowledge over a proposed takeover of Tottenham Hotspur, following the significant protests that took place against Daniel Levy before and after Sunday’s win over Manchester United.

Levy and Enic took over the club from Sir Alan Sugar almost 25 years ago but have overseen just one trophy win in that time, the 2008 League Cup success, although they did oversee a state-of-the-art new stadium and a modern training facility.

The lack of success on the field has led to protests becoming more frequent, with supporters consistently chanting “We want Levy out” and displaying banners highlighting the club’s lack of silverware under his leadership.

And, writing in his blog, Keys has suggested that a deal is done for a takeover of Tottenham – although he does not mention who could be taking over or when it will actually happen.

Keys said: “Oh – you’ll be interested to hear that I was in the company of someone this weekend that reckons a deal to buy Spurs is done. I don’t think it is, but I’m pretty sure conversations have been taking place.

“If so, I’d say this to Daniel Levy. Don’t play hard ball Daniel – you might regret it. I’m also hearing the owners of one of the top four clubs could be ready to sell. They’re arguably a better proposition for a buyer and would tempt a bid before Spurs.”

A consortium of Qatari investors is known to have shown interest in acquiring the club, although they are aiming for complete control in N17.

Their proposal reportedly includes offering Levy a long-term contract as executive chairman, a move that has been met with understandable scepticism from supporters who hold him accountable for the club’s trophy drought.

Postecoglou needs proper backing

There is also the feeling that Ange Postecoglou needs greater backing to build a first-team squad he hopes will eventually challenge for major honours again.

Tottenham being hit hard by injuries to senior players this season has had a major impact on what the club has been able to achieve, especially given the club’s stance of signing younger talent since Postecoglou’s arrival.

The pressure put on the likes of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Mikey Moore and January signing Antonin Kinsky has been immense and, while it will stand them in good stead in the long term, Spurs need more experienced bodies on board to balance out the squad better going forward.

To that end, significant investment or a full-blown takeover could be the only thing that enables Tottenham to compete with their rivals over the next decade or so.

Tottenham transfers: Spurs to make huge summer splash on game

Tottenham are reportedly ready to ramp up their pursuit of a dynamic £80million England Under-21 attacking talent as they prepare for a big summer transfer window.

Spurs are expected to back whoever is in charge of the team this summer, with everything still pointing towards Ange Postecoglou being the man to take the club forward despite a disastrous campaign this time around.

It’s been well documented that a glut of injuries to key men, particularly in defence, have been the main cause behind the wheels coming off and Tottenham sliding down the Premier League table – to go along with two domestic cup exits in the space of four days.

There is still hope of silverware though in the shape of the Europa League. Winning that would guarantee Champions League football for next season and make the club more attractive in terms of bringing top talents to north London.

One of those talents is Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who is being heavily linked with a return to English football this summer after joining Manchester City’s academy in 2018, having been at Chelsea and Reading prior to that.

The 20-year-old moved to Germany in 2020 and has not looked back since, making 91 appearances for Dortmund’s first team and scoring 16 goals with 14 assists.

His outstanding form this season has seen Gittens being monitored by the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea but The Sun reports that the attacker could well be on his way to north London instead.

Predominantly a left-sided forward, he has been capped 11 times by England’s U21s having also featured at every age group down to the Under 15s.

This year, he has become a regular for Dortmund boss Niko Kovac, making 33 appearances and scoring 11 goals while also adding five assists.

However, Dortmund have fallen to 11th in the Bundesliga table in a season of struggle and could be forced to cash in on their prized assets in the summer.
