Teenager Mikey Moore scored a late winner as Tottenham overcame Japanese champions Vissel Kobe 3-2 in a pre-season friendly in Tokyo.

The 16-year-old winger produced an 88th-minute finish from close range to clinch victory for Ange Postecoglou's side.

Son Heung-min had given Tottenham the lead in the second half before Vissel Kobe drew level just after the hour mark when Jean Patric fired past Brandon Austin.

Earlier, Pedro Porro latched on to Dejan Kulusevski's clever backheel to cancel out Vissel Kobe's opener through Yuya Osako.

Spurs will resume their pre-season campaign against K League All-Stars on Wednesday when they move into captain Son's home country South Korea.

They will then face Bayern Munich, who will be without former Spurs forward Harry Kane, on 3 August in Seoul.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Crystal Palace cruised past League One Crawley Town 6-3 in a friendly at Broadfield Stadium.

Palace raced into a 4-0 lead at the interval after goals by Odsonne Edouard, new signing Daichi Kamada and two from Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

Crawley's Rushian Hepburn-Murphy scored twice after the break to reduce the deficit before Jordan Ayew stretched Palace's lead with their fifth.

Jack Roles added a consolation for Crawley but Palace had the final word as Jeffrey Schlupp scored their sixth.

Newcastle continued their preparations with a routine 2-0 win over Championship side Hull City at MKM Stadium.

Alexander Isak poked in from a Jacob Murphy cross before the winger added a second with a cross which trickled in at the far post.

Ipswich Town were beaten 2-1 by German second-tier side Fortuna Dusseldorf at Portman Road as they continue to build up to their Premier League return.

Danny Schmidt handed the visitors the lead in front of over 15,000 fans as Ipswich played their first home game since winning promotion there in May.

Marcus Harness levelled for the hosts but Tim Rossman's second-half strike secured victory for the German outfit.

League Two Salford City came from behind to spring a surprise at Peninsula Stadium with a 2-1 win over Everton.

James Garner fired the Toffees in front with a clever free-kick but Eli Campbell's own goal drew Salford level before Dan Chesters fired a late winner.

Southampton, meanwhile, beat Ligue 1 side Montpellier 3-1 in Spain.

Kamaldeen Sulemana had to score from the rebound after his penalty was saved to hand Saints the early lead, before Tyler Dibling doubled their advantage.

Wahbi Khazri pulled one back for the French side but Southampton instantly hit back to seal victory with a Taylor Harwood-Bellis header.

Ryan Sessegnon has rejoined Fulham on a two-year deal after his contract expired at Tottenham.

The 24-year-old Fulham academy graduate returns to Craven Cottage until 2026, with the option for a further year, after leaving for Spurs in a £25m deal in August 2019.

The winger's spell at Tottenham was marred by hamstring problems and he was limited to 57 appearances for the club.

"It's amazing to be back. Emotional, as well," said the former England Under-21 international.

"It's where it started for me, where everything began.

"It will always be home for me. I think it had the feeling that it was meant to be, coming back here, so I'm delighted to get it done."

Sessegnon scored 25 goals and made 18 assists in 120 senior appearances during his first spell with the Cottagers.

While a Tottenham player, he spent the 2020-21 season on loan at German club Hoffenheim.

He becomes Fulham manager Marco Silva's first signing of the summer.

Tottenham: 'Restriction of investment' hampered Spurs - Lloris

Description

Former Spurs captain Hugo Lloris believes a "restriction in terms of investment" while building the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium contributed to a lack of trophies in his final few seasons in England.

The French World Cup winner spent 12 years with Spurs but, despite helping them reach the Champions League final in 2019, did not lift silverware at the club.

"I am not the kind of guy that looks backwards," the now LAFC goalkeeper told BBC Sport chief football news reporter Simon Stone.

"Everything I do I try to have no regrets. At that time we did our best. We brought the club to a level that it didn’t used to be at.

"We didn’t miss much but when we reach this standard in terms of performance and results, the club was probably also focused on the new stadium. It meant there was a restriction in terms of investment. At that time, the others, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City invested a bit more than us in the top players and in the end, it makes a difference.

"I still believe we were close but at the same time, we missed a bit. This question is good because the only thing when I look backwards, I just don’t know how things would have been if we had stayed one or two seasons more at White Hart Lane."

Spurs played at Wembley for the 2017-18 season and then until April 2019 the following season while the new stadium was completed, qualifying for the Champions League in both campaigns but failing to build on the second place finish in the final year at White Hart Lane.

"The last two seasons in that stadium we were amazing, playing amazing football," Lloris added.

"We cannot forget we played a year and a half without our own stadium. We had to deal with Wembley, which is an amazing stadium, but it was not our own.

"We did quite well because we qualified for the Champions League by being in the top four. But we faced better teams and better sides and stronger clubs than us."

Despite not being included in matchday squads after the appointment of Ange Postecoglou and leaving the December after his arrival, Lloris believes Spurs are heading towards competing for trophies under the Australian manager.

"In football life there are ups and downs and I believe right now, Tottenham are building something that is really interesting," he added. "I could see it for six months.

"I really enjoyed the idea of the football from the manager but also the direction of the club and I believe Tottenham will be competitive again.

"I think there is a new project and I am really interested to see where it is going to bring the club."
