Former Barnsley loan star Kieran Tripper is reportedly set to leave Newcastle United.

When a new era was ushered in at Newcastle under the current owners, Trippier was among the marquee signings who signalled the beginning of the new chapter.

He was considered a significant coup for the Magpies, moving to the club as an England regular who had lifted the La Liga trophy in Spain with Atletico Madrid.

However, after two-and-a-half years at the club, his time at St James’ Park could be coming to an end. The Northern Echo have claimed Trippier is set to depart, with interest from the Saudi Pro League believed to be mounting.

He has entered the final year of his Magpies contract and it has been claimed there are no plans to engage in talks regarding an extension. His inconsistent form and the presence of Tino Livramento, are said to have made the Newcastle hierarchy keener to sell.

Bayern Munich reportedly had a bid for Trippier rejected in January and are not expected to revive their interest. However, it has been suggested the 33-year-old is likely to have options in Saudi Arabia.

Formal talks are expected to commence in the coming weeks, with strengthening interest reported to be coming from at least two Saudi outfits.

Philogene was added to the Hull ranks from Aston Villa last year, moving to the Championship permanently after loan spells at Stoke City and Cardiff City. His flair quickly made him a hit with the MKM Stadium faithful and he became a talismanic figure under Liam Rosenior.

Although Hull missed out on the Championship play-offs, Philogene ended the season with an impressive tally of 12 goals and six assists in the league. He also earned his first call-up to the England under-21s squad.

Hull, however, appear to be at risk of losing their most prized attacking asset. Reports have indicated Ipswich are leading the race and there has been talk of a double deal including Greaves.

The sheer number of clubs reported to be interested, however, suggests that a deal may not be easy to get over the line.

Joe Rodon has admitted he has always felt at home at Leeds United after joining the club on a permanent basis from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Elland Road, endearing himself to the Elland Road faithful with his commanding centre-back displays. Blending grit with composure, he became a key figure for Daniel Farke as the Whites marched into the Championship play-off final.

Upon his return to parent club Tottenham, he was linked with all three newly-promoted Premier League clubs. Reports suggested a move to the top flight was likely but Leeds managed to secure his return.

In a separate deal, Archie Gray moved in the opposite direction for a fee believed to be in the region of £40m. However, Rodon’s switch helped to soften the blow and the defender has issued a statement via Instagram after putting pen to paper.

He said: “So happy to be back at this great club. I’ve always felt at home here and I’m looking forward to a big season.”

He also took the opportunity to thank Tottenham, who prised Rodon from Swansea City in 2020. The Wales international has left the club after amassing 24 appearances for the London giants.

He said: “A huge thank you to everyone at Tottenham Hotspur. It was a pleasure to play for the club with such great teammates and i would like to thank the fans for the support they showed me throughout my time here. Now it’s time for a new adventure.”

Rodon’s move back to Leeds has reunited him with Wales teammates Ethan Ampadu and Daniel James, although Connor Roberts is now back at Burnley after his loan stint in West Yorkshire.
