Chelsea striker reveals transfer options

Chelsea striker Armando Broja have claimed that he could sign for teams in three major leagues this summer.

An underwhelming loan spell at Fulham and at Euro 2024 with Albania have harmed the Blues’ chances of bringing in serious cash for Broja.

But he is still likely to leave this summer and told Albania’s RTV Klan what he would say in a hypothetical phone call from AC Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“I would tell him first of all that I am a big fan of his, I have always liked him as a player,” said Broja.

“Milan are a great club, second only to Real Madrid in history. I would tell him that I have to speak to the agent and the family, then I will tell him know.

“It’s true, I have offers from these three championships (Serie A, Bundesliga, Premier League). Staying at Chelsea is an option, I still have a contract with them that expires in many years.”

Raphael Varane's Como bid could be hijacked

Raphael Varane’s move to Como could be hijacked by one of their new Serie A rivals.

Roma are said by Sky Sports Italia to be interested in the former Manchester United defender.

Varane and his entourage are in Italy for talks with Como chiefs as “several” teams monitor his situation.

Earlier in the window, Roma were linked with veteran defender Mats Hummels but that interest subsided. With Chris Smalling up for sale, they could attempt to bag Varane as his replacement.

Chelsea make Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall breakthrough

Chelsea are set to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester.

The Blues have had a £30m bid accepted by the Foxes, according to The Athletic.

A medical is planned for later today with personal terms on a contract to 2030 sealed.

Marcos Alonso, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix have today all left Barcelona.

Former Chelsea left-back Alonso’s contract has expired and he’s rumoured to be joining Atletico Madrid.

Joao Felix will join him in the capital after his loan expired although Barcelona are reportedly keen on bringing him back.

Likewise Joao Cancelo, who seems to have no future at Man City but is under contract there to 2027.

Spurs lead race for £25m midfielder

Tottenham are leading the race to sign Youssouf Fofana.

The Monaco midfielder is up for sale ahead of his contract expiring in 2025, leading to a host of clubs chasing a £25m deal.

Italian outlet TuttoJuve name Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United as keen but Spurs are tipped as frontrunners with Ange Postecoglou planning a midfield overhaul.

Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are both up for sale.

TMW claim that both Inter and AC Milan have enquired about signing Hojbjerg, who is valued at around £12m.

Arsenal set to miss out on Joshua Kimmich

Manchester City are set to beat Arsenal and Liverpool to Joshua Kimmich.

The Germany international is said to be intent on leaving this summer with a £30m price tag mooted by the Mirror ahead of his contract expiring next year.

A reunion with Pep Guardiola at Man City is reportedly his favoured option.

Evening Standard

Man Utd in Matthijs de Ligt talks

Manchester United are in talks to sign Matthijs de Ligt.

The Dutch defender has fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich and in the national team over the past year, but his former coach at Ajax, Erik ten Hag, remains an admirer.

According to Sky Sports Germany, De Ligt is ready to leave Bayern and talks between his camp and United are set to lead to a “suitable offer”.

Chelsea and Arsenal offered Man Utd outcast

Manchester United have offered Jadon Sancho to some of their Premier League rivals in a bid to rid him from their books.

According to teamTALK, there is a bit of an internal battle over whether Sancho has a future at Old Trafford but Erik ten Hag has no interest in managing the winger.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to have contacted Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona in the hope of striking a £40m deal - which could be a loan with an obligation to buy. None of the quartet are said to be keen on such a move.

The race to sign a new striker is hotting up around the summer transfer window with a rumoured price drop for Victor Osimhen a key boost for Arsenal. The Gunners are also linked with Viktor Gyokeres and left-back Ferdi Kadioglu of Fenerbahce, plus Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.

The Magpies are intent on keeping Isak amid their trouble adhering to financial rules, with Chelsea offering Nicolas Jackson in a swap deal for the Swede. The Blues are in advanced talks to land Caleb Wiley from MLS club Atlanta having landed Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa, with Marc Guiu and Aaron Anselmino on their way.

Tottenham could yet hijack Brentford’s move for Archie Gray after the Bees’ £35million deal with Leeds was rejected while also looking at Lille forward Jonathan David. He has interested Manchester United too with Matthijs de Ligt a new name on their radar. Follow all the latest news, rumours and gossip from the transfer market via Standard Sport’s live blog!

Latest transfer news and rumours

Spurs could hijack Archie Gray deal

Tottenham are still contenders to sign Archie Gray.

Brentford looked have agreed a deal worth around £35m to sign the young Leeds midfielder, who is highly-rated and available as the Whites look to adhere to financial rules.

But Leeds are now widely reported to have rejected the deal at the last minute.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs says Spurs could yet hijack the move with their own bid.

Liverpool and Chelsea have admired Gray previously but it is Tottenham tipped to make a late swoop, with time running out.

Chelsea in advanced talks to sign Caleb Wiley

Chelsea’s efforts to sign unknown gems (at least from a European perspective) has taken them to Atlanta for a deal to sign Caleb Wiley.

The USA international left-back is said by The Athletic to be in advanced talks to join the Blues.

An initial stop in Strasbourg is on the cards for the 19-year-old, with no word on what fee he will command just yet.

Arsenal boost as Napoli drop Victor Osimhen price

Napoli are prepared to lower their demands for Victor Osimhen in a bid to hasten his exit from the club.

Arsenal along with PSG and Manchester United have been strongly linked with the Nigerian striker, who has a £109m release clause in his contract.

But a lack of buyers for Osimhen at that price is leading to Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis considering a new approach, given he wants to cash in on his player and also get his high wages off the books.

Antonio Conte has long expected to have to prepare for the new campaign without Osimhen and his likely presence at the upcoming start of pre-season training is seen as a blow, given they still don’t see him as a likely part of the team for the coming year.

Romelu Lukaku and Artem Dovbyk are Napoli’s ideal replacements but they must sell Osimhen first.

Marseille confirm Roberto De Zerbi has new manager

Roberto De Zerbi has signed a three-year deal to take over as Marseille head coach.

Marseille revealed earlier this week that an "agreement in principle" had been reached for the former Brighton boss and it has now been made official.

De Zerbi left the Seagulls at the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign after a successful 20 months at the Premier League club, where he guided them into the Europa League for the first time.

"I'm delighted to be joining Olympique de Marseille, as I had a very strong desire to join the club," De Zerbi said.

"The history and prestige that surround OM, the passion and fervour of its supporters, and the seriousness and enthusiasm shown to me by Frank (McCourt), Pablo (Longoria) and Medhi (Benatia) were all decisive factors in my decision to embark on this exciting challenge.

"I can't wait to sit on the bench at the Orange Velodrome, this time as OM coach, and help the club regain the position that Marseille deserves."

Chelsea offer Jackson as part of Isak deal

Chelsea and Newcastle have discussed including Nicolas Jackson as part of a deal to take Alexander Isak to Stamford Bridge.

According to the Guardian, the Blues are back in for the Newcastle striker but progress has been slow with the Magpies valuing their star man at around £120million.

In a bid to bring down the price, Chelsea could part ways with Jackson but any deal is still considered unlikely.

Arsenal close in on first summer signing

It’s been a fairly slow start to the summer transfer window at Arsenal.

Obviously, the fact there are major international tournaments in Europe and South America right now does complicate matters but it’s not been the most active of starts for the Gunners.

Still, according to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are set to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia, which could then see Aaron Ramsdale depart.

Brentford finalise Archie Gray fee

Brentford will book a medical for Archie Gray but the final details of a £35m move from Leeds are still to be finalised, writes Dom Smith.

Standard Sport understands Chelsea were keen admirers of the versatile midfielder, while both Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked.

But it is Brentford who are now closing in on a huge summer signing as talks over finalising an agreement with Championship side Leeds continue. Personal terms have been agreed and now a medical will be booked.

Brentford win Archie Gray chase as £35m deal agreed

Brentford have won the race to sign Leeds teenager Archie Gray in a deal worth £35million.

The versatile midfielder has been chased by a number of Premier League sides after an impressive season in the Championship, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham keen admirers.

But, according to The Athletic, it is London rivals Brentford who have agreed a huge fee with Leeds and personal terms with the player, who will now undergo a medical.

Leeds need to sell and Gray's expected exit as a homegrown player would be accounted for as pure profit.

Barcelona want to get rid of Ansu Fati for good

Barcelona are looking to sell Ansu Fati on a permanent basis.

The young Spaniard spent an injury-ravaged season on loan at Brighton but is back at Camp Nou this summer hoping to impress new head coach Hansi Flick

However, El Chiringuito de Jugones report that Flick does not see Fati fitting into his plans and a permanent exit could now be on the cards.

Manchester City will pocket £5m from Aston Villa’s sale of Douglas Luiz to Juventus, according to reports.

The Villa captain is set to move to the Italian giants for around £42m, five years on from leaving City for the Birmingham side in a deal worth around £15m.

City, who signed Luiz for £10m in 2017, had a 20 per cent sell-on clause so will pocket a welcome windfall.

Arsenal have received a huge boost over Victor Osimhen as they look to make a massive new striker signing this summer. The Gunners are also believed to be chasing Viktor Gyokeres after missing out on Benjamin Sesko, with Johan Bakayoko, Joshua Kimmich and Mikel Merino also on Mikel Arteta’s transfer radar, while Neymar has even been encouraged to make the move to north London.

Chelsea could rival Arsenal for the signing of Newcastle star Alexander Isak after initial talks, with Marc Guiu and Omari Kellyman both set to arrive at Stamford Bridge. Nottingham Forest’s Murillo is another rumoured Blues target, plus the likes of Nico Williams and Ademola Lookman. They are also trying to sign Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors. Tottenham have seen an opening offer for Jacob Ramsey rejected by Aston Villa, with Sebastian Szymanski and Michael Kayode also said to be on the list of Spurs targets.

Latest transfer news and rumours

Chelsea and Liverpool sent message over Khvicha Kvaratskhelia deal

Chelsea and Liverpool face a real battle to try and sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer.

The 23-year-old winger is currently one of European football’s hottest properties and last night helped Georgia to a famous 2-0 win over fancied Portugal that sent them into the last 16 of Euro 2024, where they will face Spain in Cologne on Sunday night.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal and Manchester City are among just some of the clubs to be linked so far with Kvaratskhelia, whom Napoli insist will not be going anywhere in this transfer window.

“There are no problems with Kvara because we have a contract,” club president Aurelio De Laurentiis said.

“We’ll make an offer for a new deal, so I see no problems for him. That being said, somebody can even offer contracts to the players without the club’s authorisation.”

New manager Antonio Conte added: “He’ll stay. I feel no doubts. I repeat, there is no need to have them. I have been very categorical about this.

“I wouldn’t even want this refrain to happen again in the future. The president gave this wonderful news.

“Kvaratskhelia is the type of player who there are fewer and fewer with these characteristics, which is why it’s not a whim to want to keep Kvara, I consider him a really strong player.”

Chelsea 'offer two players' to Nottingham Forest in Murillo move

It is apparently not just Alexander Isak who is now firmly on Chelsea’s transfer radar, with reports claiming they have also made a move for Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

Despite signing Tosin Adarabioyo after his Fulham contract expired and pursuing Aaron Anselmino at Boca Juniors, it seems the Blues are after yet more centre-back options after the recent departure of veteran leader Thiago Silva to Fluminense.

UOL in Brazil claim that Chelsea have begun talks over Silva’s compatriot Murillo, with two players potentially set to head in the opposite direction.

It is thought that Forest could demand £50m for a player they only signed for £15m from Corinthians last summer, with Atletico Madrid also rumoured to be keen on a deal.

Man Utd face fight to keep Alejandro Garnacho amid Saudi interest

Manchester United could face a real fight to keep hold of Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Though the club are willing to listen to offers for many of their first-team squad amid an expected summer overhaul at Old Trafford, it was thought the Argentine winger was essentially one of those off limits.

However, Alkass TV Sports claims that there is strong Saudi Arabian interest now developing in Garnacho, with Al-Hilal said to be pondering a massive bid for his services.

AP

Tottenham make opening bid for Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey

Tottenham have reportedly seen an offer for Jacob Ramsey rejected by Aston Villa.

Champions League-bound Villa are in the process of selling a few academy graduates ahead of the Premier League’s upcoming profit and sustainability rules (PSR) deadline, with Tim Iroegbunam having already joined Everton as Omari Kellyman prepares to head to Chelsea.

Lewis Dobbin and Ian Maatsen have both headed the other way, meanwhile.

Villa are also set to sign Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea as part of a deal to sell Douglas Luiz to Juventus, but it seems that they are not willing to offload fellow midfielder Ramsey yet.

The Times report that Spurs have seen an initial £20m bid for the 23-year-old rebuffed by Villa, who value him at between £40m-£50m.

Tottenham’s offer would have apparently seen Giovani Lo Celso head to Villa Park.

Chelsea learn Alexander Isak price tag after talks held

Chelsea or Arsenal would have to spend an “astronomical” fee this summer in order to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle, reports claim.

Arsenal’s interest in the Swedish striker has been well-established for some time now, while Chelsea are now said to have held talks this week over a possible high-profile deal for his services.

But Newcastle do not want to sell Isak, with The Guardian reporting that they value their top marksman in excess of a whopping £115m.

Arsenal handed major new Victor Osimhen boost

Arsenal have been handed a major new boost in their bid to sign Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international is believed to be high on the list of summer targets in north London as Mikel Arteta targets a splashy new signing up front to propel another Premier League title charge next season.

Now Arsenal have been handed a real incentive after new Napoli boss Antonio Conte appeared to admit there was still a pre-existing agreement for Osimhen to move on in this transfer window.

“As far as Osimhen is concerned, just as I knew very well about the situation of Kvara, Di Lorenzo, Anguissa, Lobotka, on which I have placed an absolute veto,” Conte said.

“Having said that, I know what the situation is regarding Osimhen. I know that there are agreements, that it is a situation different from all the others. I can only assist.

“He is a player of the highest level, exceptional, but I cannot enter into any discussion because it is part of previous agreements which have been clearly stated to me.”

Arsenal now know exactly what they have to do to sign Viktor Gyokeres after talks with the £86million striker’s camp. A new forward is the key priority for the Gunners with Victor Osimhen and Serhou Guirassy also on their radar, plus Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich.

Chelsea are another team keen to improve their frontline having signed Estevao William and they are reportedly a frontrunner to land Nico Williams from Athletic Club, along with Arsenal, having ended their interest in Stuttgart’s Guirassy. The Blues are sealing a deal to sign Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa with Ian Maatsen going in the opposite direction in something of a controversial move.

Manchester United continue to chase Leny Yoro alongside Liverpool and Real Madrid while also looking to bring back former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as part of Erik ten Hag’s staff. Santiago GImenez, Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee are all NOT on Tottenham’s shortlist for the summer transfer window.

As reported by football.london, Spurs have compiled a shortlist of striker targets with a preference for young players.

Chelsea end Victor Osimhen interest

Chelsea are no longer interested in signing Victor Osimhen.

Enzo Maresca is not keen on forking out the £109m required to sign the Napoli striker, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.

The Nigerian’s high release clause means there is actually not a huge amount of interest in a summer deal despite early expectations he would leave.

It is claimed that Arsenal, PSG and Manchester United are the only clubs in the mix to sign Osimhen.

A move to Saudi Arabia is not being contemplated by the player.

Bologna are said to be refusing to entertain offers for the central defender, who is also interesting Tottenham, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Serhou Guirassy no longer a Chelsea target but Arsenal keen

Chelsea are out of the running to sign Serhou Guirassy.

The Stuttgart striker has told his current club that he wants to leave this summer after an impressive 30-goal haul in 2023-24.

A cheap £17.5m release clause has drawn plenty of interest but Bild say Chelsea have backed out to pursue other targets.

Borussia Dortmund appear to be the favourites to seal a deal with Arsenal and AC Milan also keen.

Man Utd make surprise swoop for former player

Ruud van Nistelrooy could make a surprise return to Manchester United.

It is also said that a defensive midfielder, striker and at least one centre-back are on United’s transfer radar this summer.

Arsenal learn Viktor Gyokeres demands after talks

Arsenal know what they have to do to sign Viktor Gyokeres.

Rumours out of Portugal that they are on the verge of signing the Sporting CP striker are not quite on the money, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has detailed his view on the state of negotiations.

It is said that Arsenal made contact with Gyokeres’ camp in the spring to gauge their demands for personal terms, while it is known that he has an £86m release clause in his Sporting contract.

The ball is now in the Gunners’ court as they decide whether or not to press ahead with the deal. It is also claimed they may try to negotiate down his fee or offer a different structure to make it more affordable.

"The club is currently working with all stakeholders to formalise the arrival of the Italian coach, as well as that of his staff, on the OM bench and prepare for his arrival in Marseille in the coming days."

De Zerbi replaces Jean-Louis Gasset, the last of three managers appointed by Marseille last season as they limped to a third-placed finish in the table.

The Italian made his name with Brighton after replacing Graham Potter in September 2022, leading them to their highest ever top-flight finish of sixth, and subsequently into the Europa League.
