THE NFL have made a huge announcement over season tickets, which will hit fans in the pocket.

NFL chiefs have revealed they're SCRAPPING season tickets for their annual games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

The Premier League ground - the home of Spurs - has held two games a season since 2019.

That tradition, however, was broken in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since its inception, American football fans over the pond have had the option to buy a season ticket for matches.

Fans were able to buy tickets for both NFL London games at inflated prices, although they were guaranteed the opportunity to renew them for the following season.

But that's no longer the case.

The NFL informed season-ticket holders at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium of the policy change last week.

The decision has, in part, been made to allow more fans “the opportunity to attend games in London."

NFL fans fumed at the decision, with one saying: "'I'm raging at this.

"Been going for several years on a season ticket and will now most likely lose our excellent seats due to greed.

Another said: "One more reason not to go to the games in person."

And another said: "It's 's official - season tickets are no more for @NFLUKIRE at Tottenham Stadium. Such a shame there's no loyalty for those of us there year after year."

Spurs recently announced the extension of their partnership with the NFL, which will now run through to the 2029 - 2030 NFL season.

A statement read: "Tottenham Hotspur and the National Football League (NFL) have announced the expansion of their partnership through the 2029 - 2030 NFL season.

"As part of the agreement, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be given official status as the Home of the NFL in the UK.

"Under terms of the expanded partnership, a minimum of two regular season NFL games a year will continue to be played at the world-class, multi-use stadium.

"The only stadium purpose-built for NFL games outside of the US, with bespoke facilities including its own playing surface, locker rooms and media areas.

The first-of-its-kind partnership has already delivered a series of unforgettable games in front of sold-out crowds in Tottenham, with 12 of the league’s 32 teams having already experienced the stadium.

"Two games are set to be played there during the 2023 NFL London Games in October."
