How Heung-min Son Will Thrive From Arrival of £60m Talisman at Tottenham - GIVEMESPORT
Description

Highlights

Dominic Solanke is set to join Tottenham Hotspur from Bournemouth.

Solanke's arrival could see Heung-min Son move back over to the left side of the attack.

Fans will be hoping Solanke and Son can form a partnership similar to the Korean's one with Harry Kane.

As they look to build on a promising first season under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur have looked to add some firepower in attack by agreeing a deal to sign former England international Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth. A transfer worth £60million has been accepted by the Cherries, despite some frustrations surrounding how negotiations have gone.

With the end of the saga now firmly in sight, attention will begin to shift towards how the 26-year-old will settle in north London. With Spurs having struggled to replace the goals of Harry Kane last season, Solanke will have the weight of the world on his shoulders to continue his lethal streak from last season. However, he will also be hoping to forge a partnership with his new captain, Heung-min Son, that could bring the best out of the South Korean star.

How Solanke Can Help Son

The Korean will likely revert back to his preferred position

For the majority of his tenure at the Lilywhites, Son has operated as an inside forward, cutting in from the left-hand side. This is where the Spurs skipper was at his most effective, even managing to become the joint recipient of the Golden Boot in the 2021/22 season alongside Mohamed Salah with 23 Premier League goals. That campaign was the most productive Son has ever had in English football, but unfortunately, it was followed by a drop off the following season.

The 32-year-old returned to top form last campaign, particularly in the early going after forming a lethal partnership with James Maddison. However, his 27 goal contributions last season were arguably more ineffective for the team than the 16 he had managed the year prior, as without Kane, no one was able to keep up with what Son was doing.

While he got in and among the goals in a central area, he was taken out of positions where he was more effective. At times, he would be allowed to drift out wide with Richarlison moving to the middle.

It was here that he was able to support his teammates more. In the 11 games that Son played off the left, he provided five assists, the same amount as he managed up top in less than half the appearances. This is without having a lethal finisher to aim for. By adding Solanke to the mix, there is every chance that Son can repeat history.

Son's Record With Kane

The duo formed one of the most dominant partnerships

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Harry Kane and Heung-min Son have combined for more Premier League goals than any other pair.

In particular, between 2020 and 2022, the synchronicity between the two forwards was on another level, as they linked up 21 times, almost accounting for half of their total. They also managed nine combinations in the opening five games of the 2020/21 season.

These numbers are beyond extraordinary and helped the South Korean flourish. While replicating to the same extent is unlikely, even if the pair can combine half as often per season, it will still provide a much-needed boost to Postecoglou's attack.

Solanke's Premier League Record

The Englishman's recent form will give him a platform to build on

Had Solanke been earmarked as a replacement for Kane this time last year, eyebrows would've been raised. At that point, the 26-year-old had managed a season-high of six goals in the top flight. Hardly the numbers of a man who was ready to replace one of the greatest-ever Premier League strikers.

What the former Chelsea youngster always had was his ability to press from the front, something that has become extra valuable in the modern game. However, last season, he was finally able to add the missing piece to the jigsaw. Having started the season with 10 goals in his entire Premier League career, Solanke almost trebled his total as he finished with 19 at the end of the 2023/24 term.

Spurs are a team that is bound to provide more chances in front of goal with their style of play and creative talent, and Postecoglou finally has his hands on a player who implements his tactics at the top of the pitch while allowing one of his better players to focus on playing in areas that will get the best out of him.

Highlights

Tottenham are set to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke after deciding against buying Santiago Gimenez.

Solanke could soon become Spurs' record signing, surpassing Tanguy Ndombele.

Emerson Royal is set to sign for AC Milan after an agreement was reached between clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on signing Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke after performing a U-turn by going for him instead of pursuing a deal for Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez, according to HITC.

Spurs ‘made a breakthrough’ in their attempts to sign the Englishman as they look to finally seal a striker signing, a year after Harry Kane’s exit to Bayern Munich.

According to HITC, Tottenham ‘had earmarked’ Gimenez as their number one target before having ‘a change of heart’ and deciding to pursue a deal for Solanke instead.

Spurs have now reached an agreement with Bournemouth for the 26-year-old, who had a £65million release clause in his contract with the Cherries. He could soon become the club’s record signing, surpassing Tanguy Ndombele’s arrival from Lyon for £63million in 2019.

Spurs could finally solving their goalscoring woes amid a season of struggles up front, with a deal for the Cherries marksman now close.

Spurs scored the fewest goals among the top seven teams in the Premier League last season, netting 74 goals in 38 matches during Ange Postecoglou’s debut season.

Spurs Close to Signing Bournemouth Star

To finally replace Harry Kane

According to HITC, Tottenham do not need to sell Richarlison to fund a summer deal for Solanke, despite the Brazilian being linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League.

In a relatively quiet window for Spurs, Postecoglou has made just three new signings, with youngsters Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, and Min-hyeok Yang arriving.

RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner has also re-joined on loan, after impressing during a six-month spell in north London, scoring two and assisting three goals in 13 Premier League appearances.

Solanke, meanwhile, had the most prolific goalscoring season of his career so far, netting 19 goals for Bournemouth in 38 league appearances in 2023/24.

Trailing only Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak in the top scorers’ table, Solanke has finally earned himself a big-money move after joining Bournemouth in 2019.

In five full seasons with the Cherries, Solanke made 216 appearances across all competitions, scoring 71 goals and registering 31 assists. Last December, the 26-year-old picked up his first Premier League Player of the Month accolade.

Emerson Royal Nears Spurs Exit

Tottenham agree AC Milan deal

Tottenham have agreed a deal with AC Milan to sell defender Emerson Royal, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The North London outfit have been in talks with the Serie A giants all summer over the Brazilian’s move, despite him agreeing personal terms with Milan back in May.

According to Romano, Emerson is now set to undergo a medical before his San Siro switch becomes official, with travel plans being arranged for the 25-year-old.

Emerson, who joined Spurs on a permanent move from Barcelona in 2021, made 101 appearances in three seasons across all competitions, scoring four goals.

Highlights

Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.

Spurs look unlikely to make a move for the Dane, who scored 18 league goals last season.

The north London club are focusing on young talents including Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall this season.

Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Celtic and Denmark star Matt O’Riley according to Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe, however Ange Postecoglou’s side are not planning on making a move.

So far this summer, the north London-based outfit have added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall – both 18 years of age – to their star-studded engine room, while Min-hyeok Yang has also been snared.

Tottenham, who finished outside the Champions League spots last term, will be looking to end the summer on a high to ensure they have the best chance of returning to Europe’s most prestigious competition.

O’Keefe ‘Not Convinced’ about Tottenham Move for O’Riley

Southampton also interested in the midfielder

When quizzed on X (formerly Twitter) whether the north Londoners are interested in the goal-gobbling Dane, journalist O’Keefe suggested that he, although the "phenomenal" midfielder has been ‘offered by intermediaries’, isn’t convinced that Tottenham are in the race.

Suggesting that Spurs, who have recently agreed a deal to sell Emerson Royal to AC Milan, are not in line to make a move for the midfielder as things stand, the reputable journalist replied:

“Offered by intermediaries. Not convinced Tottenham make a move currently.”

On the back of a more-than-impressive campaign with the Scottish outfit, there have been an array of top-level clubs – Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Atalanta included – that have shown an interest in the 23-year-old.

In terms of Southampton’s interest in the former Fulham man, Radio Solent’s Adam Blackmore has stated that O’Riley would welcome a move to St James’ Park in the coming weeks after Russell Martin’s side’s promotion to the top flight.

Per MailOnline, Brighton have opened talks with Brendan Rodgers and Co over a potential move for the Danish midfielder, who has chalked up 42 goals and 52 assists in his 240-game career.

A twice-capped Denmark international, the midfield technician plundered 19 goals and 18 assists in 49 outings across all competitions last season. O’Riley’s contract with the Scottish Premiership giants still has three years to run on it, meaning that his current employers are in such a strong position when it comes to negotiating with would-be buyers.

Tottenham Close in on Solanke Deal

Ornstein: striker has agreed personal terms

The difference between Tottenham securing top four credentials and settling for fifth place could be signing a new centre forward, especially as Harry Kane was not replaced last summer following his switch to Bayern Munich.

Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson – both wingers by trade – alongside Richarlison were used centrally last season, but Bournemouth and England star Dominic Solanke could be the man leading their line next term.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Solanke is Bournemouth's fourth all-time top goalscorer, having netted 77 strikes in 216 outings.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the former Chelsea youth prospect has agreed personal terms with his would-be buyers ahead of a prospective move this summer.

Elsewhere, Brentford’s Ivan Toney remains an option should the Solanke transfer fail to come to fruition. Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported that the 28-year-old has emerged as Postecoglou’s top priority, despite their interest in the aforementioned Solanke.

Highlights

Spurs are targeting Ivan Toney or Dominic Solanke to fill Harry Kane's void.

Skipp may leave Tottenham this summer with interest from several clubs.

Toney boasts impressive Premier League stats which could benefit Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for a new centre forward this summer and, according to the ever-reliable Ben Jacobs, Ange Postecoglou could make a move for Brentford and England star Ivan Toney if a deal for Dominic Solanke falls through.

Ever since Harry Kane upped and left for Bayern Munich last summer, Spurs have struggled to fill the void left by the Englishman. Winger-turned-striker Son Heung-min shouldered the majority of the goalscoring burden last term as he netted 17 strikes in all competitions.

During Postecoglou’s second summer at the helm, finding a replacement for the talismanic Kane is nearing the top of their priority list as all 20 they head towards an all-important campaign, one in which they wish to secure Champions League football.

Tottenham Could Move for Toney If Solanke Deal Collapses

Reports suggest Spurs could sign two frontmen this summer

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Solanke’s switch from the south coast to north London is growing ever closer to completion with the striker’s current employers happy to offload him for the right amount.

That said, there is no official confirmation that a deal for the ex-Liverpool and Chelsea man will come to fruition and, as such, Spurs have a contingency plan in place: Toney.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Jacobs reported that Tottenham’s deal for Solanke is advancing at a good pace with Spurs ‘hopeful’ of reaching an agreement. Though, if a move for the Bournemouth striker falls through, the journalist suggested that Toney, 28, could be the perfect option.

“Tottenham now in advanced talks with Bournemouth over club-record move for Dominic Solanke. Solanke has a £65m release clause in his contract and Bournemouth determined to hold out for as close to that figure as possible.

“Spurs hopeful of coming to an agreement with negotiations ongoing. As talkSPORT reported on Thursday, Tottenham also have concrete interest in Brentford’s Ivan Toney should a deal for Solanke not be finalised.”

What makes the links to the Brentford marksman so interesting is that transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, revealed that Tottenham could snare two forwards this summer.

Whether Solanke and Toney - described as "world-class" by Thomas Frank - will both be Tottenham Hotspur Stadium-bound before the trading period closes remains to be seen – but the latter’s goalscoring record in the top flight would make him a great acquisition. Proving a sharpshooter in west London, Toney has scored 36 goals and notched an additional 11 assists across his 85-game Premier League career.

Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp Admired by Southampton

Midfielder set to leave north London this summer

In terms of outgoings, Matt Law of The Telegraph has reported that midfielder Oliver Skipp is expected to leave the north Londoners this summer and Russell Martin’s side are among those interested in his signature.

Law also revealed that two of the newly-promoted sides, Ipswich Town and Leicester City, are also in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature. The 2000-born star put pen to paper on a new deal at Tottenham just two years ago, but he is deemed surplus to requirements by Postecoglou and Co.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Skipp racked up 24 appearances for England's Under-20s and notched just the solitary assist.

Having emerged from the club’s youth set-up in 2018, Skipp has struggled to assert himself as a regular in senior proceedings, having racked up just 106 outings – which equates to 5,461 minutes – across a six-year period with the first team.

9 Best Wingers in Tottenham History (Ranked)

Ranking the 9 Best Wingers in Tottenham History - GIVEMESPORT
Description

Highlights

Tottenham have had a plethora of wingers make their mark in N17 over the years.

Most notably, Gareth Bale made a significant impact for Spurs before earning a record-breaking move to Real Madrid.

The famous double-winning side of 1961 boasted a glut of world-class wingers.

Tottenham Hotspur's motto - Audere est Facere, which translates to 'to dare is to do' in English - has always been an important part of the club's beliefs. They want their best players of all time to shine on the pitch without fear, taking defenders on, causing problems and getting the Spurs faithful off their seats at White Hart Lane — and now their new stadium.

That's why, over the years, Spurs have had countless legendary wingers ply their trade on their famous hallowed turf. All have been capable of causing excitement, sending defenders sprawling and making long-lasting memories for those who make the trip to N17 every single week.

Some had more tangible success than others, especially considering Spurs have not won a trophy since 2008. Here is a closer look at the best of the bunch, with the list stretching from the famous double-winning side in 1961 to the current club captain.

Ranking Factors

Goals scored for Tottenham - despite not being the main men, wingers still need to provide consistent output.

Longevity - The longer they stayed at the club, the more they were well-loved by fans.

Impact - Whether they 'carried' their side or were part of a world-class team needs to be considered.

Aaron Lennon was 'to dare is to do' personified. With his quick feet, willingness to take players on and electric pace — which saw him rank as one of the fastest players in Premier League history — fans adored him. After joining in the summer of 2005, he proved to be a constant option during an inconsistent spell for Spurs, seeing them suffer compared to their biggest rivals. Throughout all of this, Lennon tormented countless full-backs with his direct running and thrilling last-ditch changes in direction, boasting 30 goals and 76 assists in 363 games, which is a phenomenal record for someone who was never focused on their end product.

Tony Galvin became an unflinchingly reliable figure for Spurs during his nine years in the capital. Winning the FA Cup in 1981 and 1982, coupled with UEFA Cup success two years later, Galvin starred during an impressive era for Spurs. He wasn't just a player on the bench either; his talent on the wing was clear.

The left winger's persistence and stamina provided a steady outlet in midfield, and considering Spurs also had Ossie Ardiles and Glenn Hoddle, Galvin also brought stability and balance to an electric side. Maybe he did the work quietly, but it should be remembered now.

Tottenham's most successful side came in the 1960s. Any Spurs fan will always know the key dates in 1961, which saw them win both the First Division and FA Cup. With a world-class side, Bill Nicholson had a plethora of options to choose from, and Terry Medwin was always a consistent name on the teamsheet.

As a right winger, he was also dangerous, looking to take players on and drive forward into the final third. Considering there were countless goalscorers in the team, he was never the 'most important' player, but he was always reliable — featuring in the 1962 FA Cup win against Burnley.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tottenham became the first team to complete the double since the 19th century in 1961.

In the same era as Medwin, another Terry plied their trade, this time in the form of Terry Dyson. Spurs were spoilt for choice on the wing in the swinging '60s — and that's probably why they won the First Division and FA Cup. Dyson was always praised for his work ethic and ability to never give up. It's arguably the most important thing for a footballer — and he epitomised that.

In the 2008 edition of the Tottenham Hotspur Player by Player guide, Dyson was described as "a hyperactive beaver who could contribute in all areas of the pitch and who would donate his dying breath to the common cause." He was even the star of Spurs' European Cup Winners' Cup final 5-1 thrashing of Atletico Madrid in 1963, scoring a stunning goal to seal victory.

Chris Waddle only spent four years at Spurs, yet through those years he was adored by fans who realised he was one of the most naturally gifted players to ever step foot on the pitch at White Hart Lane. The 1985 signing from Newcastle United took a little time to settle, but once he had, his mesmeric dribbling and turns lit up in N17.

Eight years after Waddle left, David Ginola was the next winger to take Tottenham by storm. As one of the greatest French players of all time, it's hardly surprising; the charismatic wide man quickly won the hearts of the fans who travelled every week, as he was capable of causing defenders nightmares with his exemplary crossing, thrilling runs inside or spectacular shooting.

He played a key role in Spurs winning the League Cup in 1999, in the same season that he was awarded the FWA and PFA Player of the Year awards. With 21 goals and as many assists in 125 matches, he was a delight to watch, but in a similar story to Waddle, it was all too brief.

Although both Dyson and Medwin played a key role in Spurs' sensational double-winning side in the 1960s, Cliff Jones was truly one of the key men. He was the standout figure in taking the stylish football philosophy of the team and making it sparkle.

The Welshman could operate on either side of the pitch, with his small frame allowing him to take defenders on, quickly burst past them, and dare to dream in the final third. His bravery, coupled with impressive timing and positional sense, contributed to the 159 goals he scored, placing him sixth on the club's all-time top scorers list.

Gareth Bale needs no introduction. Converted from a pacey left-back to one of the greatest wingers of all time, the Welshman was a role model for so many, carrying an inconsistent Spurs team on his back. Across 237 matches, he scored 71 goals and racked up 53 assists, yet it was his game-breaking ability to cut in from the right, beat a defender and then fire a stunning left-footed shot into the top left corner which was so impressive.

It's what earned him a world-record move to Real Madrid for £85.3m in 2013. Most notably, Bale arrived on the main world stage with a hat-trick away to Inter Milan in 2010. "Taxi for Maicon," Spurs fans chanted, as he tormented one of the greatest right-backs of all time; that performance foreshadowed his stellar career.

Spurs' current club captain has been ranked as their greatest winger of all time. Arriving in 2015 for just £22m, Son Heung-min took time to adapt — he even considered leaving after a year — but eventually, he became one of the best wide men in the Premier League.

He places fifth on Tottenham's all-time top scorer list, whilst he has won several accolades since, most notably the 2020 Puskas Award and the 2021/22 Premier League Golden Boot. Throughout the nine years he has spent in N17, the most important characteristic Son has shown is loyalty. As soon as he started finding form, the best clubs in the world wanted to secure his signature, but he has always remained faithful to those who support him every week.

Postecoglou Could Get Dream Summer With 'Outstanding' £65m Richarlison Upgrade

Highlights

Ange Postecoglou made significant squad changes, allowing five players to leave for free.

Spurs finished fifth in the Premier League, qualifying for the Europa League.

Desire Doue, Jacob Ramsey, Pedro Neto, and Dominic Solanke all on the list of dream signings.

The 2023-24 Premier League season was a time of change for Tottenham Hotspur. Ange Postecoglou took charge for the first time, the talismanic Harry Kane departed for Bayern Munich, and for the first time since the 2009-10 season, Spurs didn't compete in any European competition, due to an eighth-place finish the season prior.

Their progress in the domestic cup competitions saw an EFL Cup exit in the second round, and an FA Cup campaign that stretched to the fifth round. An eventual fifth-place finish in the Premier League signalled the return of the Europa League, and with Son Heung-min's continued output of 17 league goals, the white of North London have a fine offensive base. However, they need to add to it, naturally, as with other dynamics of the team.

Sales

Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Ivan Perisic, Tanguy Ndombele, Richarlison

Firstly, before breaching the subject of incomings, it's worth analysing the departures. Postecoglou has clearly taken a look at the depth of his squad, and the active members of the team that can contribute. In this window so far, the Australian manager has been relatively decisive. Five squad players have been allowed to move on for free.

Eric Dier has joined Harry Kane in Bavaria with his move to Bayern Munich, Ryan Sessegnon has returned to Fulham after five years away, and former fellow Spurs prospect, Japhet Tanganga, has gone to Millwall in the Championship after a successful loan stay. At the twilight of his career, Ivan Perisic's move to Hajduk Split signalled a nice cyclical end, while Tanguy Ndombele's free transfer to OGC Nice will likely help the wage bill.

Amongst the freebies, Joe Rodon's £10m switch to Leeds, as well as loans for Bryan Gil (Girona) and Pierre-Emile Hojberg (Marseille), give Postecoglou the space to rework his group and create a clearer plan for this summer's business as well as the 2024-25 Premier League season. In addition, Postecoglou could give Spurs a big cash boost with the sale of Richarlison. The Brazilian has been rated at £60m and is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia. Richarlison improved last season from a disastrous maiden campaign in north London but is yet to rediscover the form from his Everton days.

Dream Signings

Desire Doue, Jacob Ramsey, Eberechi Eze, Pedro Neto, Dominic Solanke

With the exit of Rodon, the same day saw the arrival of 18-year-old Archie Gray coming the other way for a fee reported to be around £40m. The defender's move was the middle of three 18-year-old signings, Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens in Sweden, and Min-hyeok Yang from South Korean club, Gangwon FC. Midfielder Bergvall, a promising Swedish international, signed for a reported transfer fee of £8.5 million. Another one for the future, winger Min-hyeok Yang signed a six-year deal and will join in January 2025.

In a window where Postecoglou addressed the press with a typical trademark bluntness, it was explained that acquisitions were high on the list of priorities. At the end of July, the boss said:

"We are working hard towards bringing players in and it's a process you sometimes have to be patient with. But in terms of what we've set out to do, that's still the plan, and you have to stay disciplined."

So far, the calibre of player looking to be brought in is very high as Spurs know their points to build on. Midway through July, interest from Spurs was noted for Rennes creative midfielder Desire Doue. The 19-year-old Frenchman has been subject to waves of transfer speculation after impressing in Ligue 1 last term with 10 goal contributions in 43 domestic appearances.

However, in recent weeks, the assertion around this move has died down, as a number of clubs like Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Chelsea and more, keep tabs on the midfield-stroke-wing star. Doue is currently with the French Olympic team in Paris and has already seen a bid of £29m from Bavaria rejected by Rennes.

Another rumour circulating in mid-to-late July saw Spurs linked to another key player in that area - Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey. The 23-year-old is highly thought of at Villa, and unlikely to be allowed to leave, yet Tottenham were said to be looking at a player plus cash deal involving Giovanni Lo Celso. He previously played under Villans' boss Unai Emery at both Paris Saint-Germain and Villarreal.

While that prospective move looks unlikely, Postecoglou has continued his search for a midfield dynamo and a versatile forward. In this regard, Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, who has a £68m release clause, has been linked, but again like Ramsey, his club see him as a valuable asset for the future. In terms of forward line additions, Pedro Neto and Dominic Solanke have been watched intently by Spurs.

Neto started last season on fire with seven assists and one goal in his first 10 Premier League games before he picked up a hamstring injury. The 24-year-old struggled to get back to that form once he returned and then picked up the same injury again. He missed 23 games in total due to injury last term.

Despite his injury troubles, Neto has shown his raw and brilliant talents and the Midlands side have put a £60m price tag on his head, with Tottenham considering a proposal. Wolves boss Gary O’Neil admitted in a recent interview that “if a massive bid comes from a top club, then no one is going to stand in Pedro’s way.”

Undoubtedly, the most high profile Spurs transfer rumour right now is a potential move for Dominic Solanke. If Richarlison's rumoured exit wasn't enough, with the North London club struggle to fill the Harry Kane-shaped hole, Solanke's profile is a striker Postecoglou's group clearly require. It is claimed the 26-year-old Bournemouth man is high on Tottenham’s list of striking targets and the club have already held talks. Sky Sports News reported that Solanke, described by Paul Merson as 'outstanding', has a £65m clause in his contract if a big Premier League club comes in for him. Solanke made the whole league sit up and take note last season, after boasting his best top-flight numbers with 19 goals in 38 league games.

Tottenham seals £60m Solanke deal with Bournemouth, £30m upfront and £3m in add-ons.

Solanke becomes Lilywhites' top striker target with the aim of strengthening their forward line.

Bournemouth agrees to sell Solanke, finalizing talks on the transfer fee with O'Keefe sharing agreed terms.

Tottenham have agreed to pay Bournemouth a total of £60million with £30million up front to sign Dominic Solanke, according to insider Paul O'Keefe.

The Lilywhites have made the one-time England international their top striker target this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his forward line, with the team having narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season.

Bournemouth have agreed to sell Solanke with final talks ongoing over the final transfer fee for Solanke, but O'Keefe has now shared the terms that have been agreed upon between the two sides.

Spurs Agree £60m Solanke Deal

£30m up front and £3m in add-ons

According to O'Keefe, Spurs and Bournemouth have agreed to a deal worth a total of £60million but the terms are seemingly very favourable for the north London club.

Spurs will pay an initial £30million up front, with another £27million over the duration of the player's contract. The two clubs have then agreed on a further £3million in easily-achievable add-ons that will take the final fee to £60million, which is less than the £65million release clause in his contract.

Solanke has already agreed personal terms with Spurs and is "desperate" to make the move, after a career-best 19 Premier League goal season last time out with the Cherries.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea forward is desperate to prove himself at the highest level, and will fill the void in the number nine position left by Harry Kane's departure to Bayern Munich last summer.

A deal for Solanke, who Paul Merson has described as "outstanding" is due to be finalised despite Brazilian star Richarlison rejecting a move away from the club to join Saudi Arabia, with the former Everton star preferring to stay and fight for his place in Postecoglou's squad.

GIVEMESPORT key statistics: Only Erling Haaland (27), Cole Palmer (22) and Alexander Isak (21) scored more Premier League goals than Solanke in 2023/24.

Emerson Royal Exit Agreed

Brazilian heading to AC Milan

While a deal for Solanke to join Spurs has now been agreed between clubs, the north London chiefs have also agreed a deal for defender Emerson Royal to leave this week.

The Brazilian has agreed a move to AC Milan, who will pay a fee in excess of €15million, with travel plans being made for a medical before the defender puts pen to paper on a deal in Italy.

Emerson made 101 appearances for the club over three seasons, but has lost his place to Pedro Porro and with the emergence of Djed Spence in pre-season and the signing of Archie Gray he has been deemed as surplus to requirements by Postecoglou.

Emerson set to undergo medical with Milan after rejecting other offers.

Tottenham have agreed a deal worth in excess of €15million with AC Milan to sell Emerson Royal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Lilywhites have been in talks all summer with the Italian giants about a move for the 25-year-old, who was deemed surplus to requirements by Ange Postecoglou after their one seasons together in north London.

Emerson agreed personal terms with Milan way back in May but talks have been ongoing about a final transfer fee ever since, however an agreement has now been found and he is set to move to Serie A.

Tottenham Agree Emerson Royal Deal

Emerson to join Milan in deal worth more than €15m

The Brazilian was a regular in the Spurs first-team last season playing at right-back, left-back and even in central defence at times but after the arrival of Archie Gray and the emergence of Djed Spence in pre-season he has been allowed to leave.

According to Romano travel plans are now being sorted for him to undergo a medical in Milan, after he rejected four or five other proposals in favour of a move to Paulo Fonseca's side.

Emerson joined Spurs on a permanent deal from Barcelona worth around £25.8million back in 2021 and has since appeared 101 times for the club, scoring four goals.

But he lost his starting place to Pedro Porro last year, with the Spaniard becoming the undisputed number one right back at the club after his arrival from Sporting CP in January 2023 on an initial loan deal.

Porro is set to continue as the starting right-back this season, but after signing Archie Gray from Tottenham due to his ability to play in the position as well as in midfield plus Spence impressing despite spending previous seasons away on loan, Emerson was deemed dispensable and a deal has been found to boost Spurs' budget.

GIVEMESPORT key statistics: Emerson Royal registered four goals and two assists in 79 Premier League appearances.

Spurs Close in on Dominic Solanke

Bournemouth have agreed to sell the striker

While Tottenham are looking to sell Emerson, the club are now close to agreeing a deal to sign striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in a club-record transfer.

Postecoglou has been keen to add to his forward options amid uncertainty around the future of Richarlison, and Solanke has been identified as a top target.

David Ornstein is now reporting that a move for the one-time England international is close to being agreed after Bournemouth agreed to sell the striker, with talks now ongoing to finalise a deal. Solanke has a £65million release clause in his contract, but Spurs had been hoping to agree a fee for less or on different terms.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool forward has already agreed personal terms and is keen to make the move to north London.

Tottenham Hotspur close in on a deal with Bournemouth for striker Solanke, as personal terms are agreed.

Postecoglou has managed Spurs without Kane and is eyeing the Bournemouth ace to strengthen the team.

Tottenham are confident in securing a deal for Solanke, who impressed with 21 goals in his previous season.

Tottenham Hotspur are growing ever closer to striking a deal with Bournemouth for their talisman Dominic Solanke and, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the Cherries are willing to part ways with the Englishman.

Ange Postecoglou, during his first season in north London, had to make do without Harry Kane. The centre forward upped and left for Bayern Munich last summer, leaving the Greek-Australian to use the likes of Heung-min Son and Brennan Johnson up top.

A plethora of names have been mooted since the summer transfer window opened for business, but emerging as the front-runner was Solanke, who's been described as a 'dream' by former boss Gary O'Neil. And now, per Ornstein’s update, a move seems inevitable.

Tottenham Closer to Striking Solanke Deal

Bournemouth ‘agreed to sell’ striker

Taking to X (Twitter), the ever-reliable Ornstein reported that Bournemouth have ‘agreed to sell’ the former Chelsea youth prospect, while Postecoglou’s men are working towards finalising a move.

Suggesting that personal terms have already been agreed between Tottenham and the striker in question, Solanke, the transfer expert claimed that he is desperate to make the switch.

“Bournemouth have agreed to sell Dominic Solanke for a club-record fee & talks with Tottenham Hotspur continue to finalist transfer. Personal terms in place & 26yo striker desperate to complete move from #AFCB and #THFC.”

Under contract with his current employers until the summer of 2029, Solanke's release clause of £65 million means that striking a deal for the ex-Liverpool man - previously hailed as 'outstanding' - is feasible pre-expiration.

Earlier this week, The Times' Gary Jacobs reported that the north London-based outfit were growing increasingly confident that they could get a deal for the marksman over the line.

Basingstoke-born Solanke, a one-time Premier League winner with Chelsea, piqued the interest of clubs aplenty in the English top flight on the back of a fruitful 2023/24 campaign, notching 21 goals and a further four assists in 42 outings.

In the Premier League altogether, the one-capped England international has scored 29 goals and notched 13 assists, often for a team in the bottom half of the standings.

Tottenham Interested in Amir Richardson

Postecoglou faces stern Premier League competition

As a means of bolstering his engine room, Postecoglou has targeted Stade de Reims and Morocco star Amir Richardson, per HITC Sport, who also revealed that Everton, Brentford and Leicester City are all in the mix for his signature too.

Emerging from OGC Nice's academy as a fresh-faced teenager, Richardson - with a stint to Le Havre in the middle - is now plying his trade for Reims, while also starring for his country at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: In his 103-game career, Richardson has recorded nine goals and six assists.

The 22-year-old's current employers, per the report, are willing to offload the sought-after midfielder, with a fee of £8.5 million being quoted as their asking price. It also suggests that Richardson, a seven-cap Morocco international, is keen on making the step-up to English top flight action.

Tottenham are showing 'concrete interest' in Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Striker signing remains a key priority for Spurs, according to Ben Jacobs.

Spurs are reportedly yet to present a bid for Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham Hotspur are showing concrete interest in signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney, journalist Ben Jacobs has reported.

The 28-year-old now appears to be at the top of the list of striker targets for Ange Postecoglou, who aims to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window shuts.

According to Jacobs, signing a striker is ‘a key priority’ for Spurs, who struggled in front of goal last season after opting not to replace their star forward Harry Kane.

The North Londoners scored the fewest goals among the top seven teams in the Premier League last campaign and are now hoping to avoid a repeat of their goalscoring woes.

With rumours over Richarlison’s departure intensifying in recent weeks, Tottenham could soon bring in a replacement for the Brazilian, with both Toney and Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke on the shortlist.

According to Jacobs, Spurs are yet to advance in their pursuit of Solanke, who is thought to be a costlier option than Toney, with a £65m release clause in his current deal with the Cherries.

Spurs ‘Yet to Bid’ for Dominic Solanke

Striker remains a key priority

Jacobs, writing on X, suggested that Tottenham are yet to present a bid for Bournemouth’s Solanke, while their interest in Toney is now ‘concrete’:

Despite links with several Premier League big guns, interest in Toney has yet to materialise, even though Brentford lowered their valuation of the England international in July.

With less than 12 months left on his current deal, Toney is now reportedly available for less than £50m, with the Bees keen to cash in on their star forward ahead of his contract expiry.

Toney expressed his desire to join a 'top club that wins trophies' after returning from an eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules last season.

The 28-year-old made just 17 league appearances for Brentford in the previous campaign, scoring four goals and adding two assists in what could be his final season under Thomas Frank.

Earlier this year, Frank admitted that Toney is likely to be on the move this summer after his suspension prevented him from securing a big-money transfer in 2023.

Tottenham ‘Consider’ Issa Kabore

To replace Emerson Royal

Tottenham are considering signing Manchester City defender Issa Kabore, who spent last season on loan at Luton Town, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed to GIVEMESPORT.

Kabore remains among the options in Spurs’ search for a new right-sided defender as they look to replace AC Milan-bound Emerson Royal.

Romano suggests Tottenham now ‘need one more player’ at right-back to support Pedro Porro, who left Emerson scrambling for minutes in the previous campaign.

Kabore, meanwhile, impressed many with his performances in the Premier League last season, making 24 appearances for the London-based club before returning to Man City for pre-season training.
