Highlights

Tottenham are prioritising the signing of a versatile forward to add to their attacking options.

A right-back could still be signed, but only if Emerson Royal is to leave this summer.

A midfield signing is still a possibility, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's departure leaving a vacancy.

Tottenham are prioritising the signing of a versatile forward that can play across the front three this summer, Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has told GIVEMESPORT.

The North London club have already secured the signings of Archie Gray for £30 million and Timo Werner on loan in this window, arriving from Leeds and RB Leipzig respectively. Ange Postecoglou is eager to add more to his squad, as he looks to launch an improved assault on the top four next season.

While there have been suggestions that a right-back could be acquired, with interest in Southampton's Kyle Walker-Peters being reported, Bridge has revealed that this is only likely to come to fruition in the case of an Emerson Royal exit, which now looks unlikely. Instead, an attacking player that can operate in each of the three forward areas is on the agenda and is where the bulk of the budget is expected to be allocated.

Spurs Looking for a Forward

The likes of Toney, Neto and Eze have been linked

After narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification, Spurs' hierarchy will be looking to bolster Postecoglou's squad significantly ahead of next season. Despite conceding a disappointing 61 Premier League goals last season, whilst scoring a respectable 74, it appears that the priority is strengthening the attacking options at the Aussie's disposal.

Son Hueng-Min netted 17 goals in Postecoglou's first campaign in North London, the bulk of which came when deployed down the middle. With wingers Werner, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski often producing inconsistent displays, the idea may be to acquire a wide player who can liberate Son to be used more centrally more frequently.

Speaking on Spurs' future business to GIVEMESPORT, Sky Sports' Bridge verified the club's line of thinking:

"Tottenham are keen to increase their homegrown quota. There might be potential for looking at a right-back if Emerson Royal was to leave, but that's not happening at the moment, and

"Tottenham's key target this summer is a versatile forward who can play across the front three. That is where I feel the bulk of the money will be spent now, after the purchases of Bergvall and Archie Gray."

A single concrete name is yet to emerge in regard to forward links, although several players have been mooted. Spurs have been suggested as one of the sides interested in Brentford's Ivan Toney, and could make a low-ball offer for the striker, although the mercurial number nine wouldn't fit the versatile mould the club are looking for.

Elsewhere, both Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto have been linked in a sensational £128 million double swoop, with both players having spent time in various forward roles.

Spurs Could Still Sign a Midfielder

Hojbjerg has left the club

Despite Bridge suggesting that acquiring a versatile forward is Tottenham's top priority in the market, Fabrizio Romano revealed to GIVEMESPORT last week that a midfield signing is still a possibility. With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg completing a loan switch to Marseille, Postecoglou's midfield department is beginning to look short on numbers.

The likes of Yves Bissouma, James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr impressed in patches last season, but the Australian head coach may be eager to find more of a staple midfield option. Eze could be a signing who covers both the midfield and forward areas, although Scott McTominay may represent the more idealistic midfield signing, with the Manchester United man heavily linked with a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Levy Would Make the Easiest £60m in Tottenham History by Selling 48-cap Flop

Highlights

Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Spurs with suitors in Saudi Arabia being touted.

Daniel Levy could cash in on Brazilian who hasn't thrived in north London since his move from Everton.

Money could be re-invested in the squad with reports Spurs are interested in Federico Chiesa.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has spoken about how he understands the concerns of some Spurs fans about the lack of news on any new signings being brought to the club ahead of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign. He said the club is working hard to bring players in and a great deal of this work is being done behind the scenes.

With Financial Fair Play being an extra area of due diligence for Premier League clubs, there are things the Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy could do to bring in funds that wouldn't impact the squad, starting by selling Brazilian striker Richarlison.

Brazilian Struggled With Form at Spurs

Rumoured Saudi bids would help boost transfer pot

The Times reported that Spurs are willing to sell the former Everton man for £60m, with several clubs in Saudi Arabia showing potential interest in him. They are more likely to pay the fee than other European clubs. Although Spurs have been open to offers for the player for two months now. Spurs bought him for the same amount two years ago and while normally a club would expect, or at least hope, to sell on for a profit, in this case they'd be happy to simply recoup their original spend. Although something of a cult figure while at Goodison Park, he hasn't been able to repeat the same form at Spurs.

While at Everton, the Brazilian scored 10 or more Premier League goals in three of his four seasons there and even the season when he didn't manage that, he still scored 13 in all competitions. Although he did net 11 league goals for Spurs last season, the sole Premier League the season before, in 27 appearances, hardly captured the imagination. Both defedners Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon managed more goals that season. The reported fee of £60m would represent very good business for Spurs.

Tottenham Could get Money Back

Postecoglou will have the chance to re-invest

Spurs are being linked to considerably cheaper, and one could argue, far more effective players, such as Euro 2020 winner Federico Chiesa, who is able to score and create, who is reported to be available from Juventus for less half the amount at £29m. Although Spurs may face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal. The money from Richarlison would balance the books nicely for such transfers.

It's been well documented that Tottenham need another centre forward, with Ivan Toney being touted as a great fit for the club. Brentford would be looking at a fee in the region of £60m. With no comparison between Richarlison and Toney scoring exploits in the recent years, a like for lie swicth in terms of fee seems almost too good to be true. Brentford may well be even less inclined to let Toney go now the club's new striker Igor Thiago suffered a knee injury in the club's mid-week friendly with AFC Wimbledon. So this development makes even more financial sense to sell Richarlison.

It is important to note that Spurs are reported to not be in trouble with Financial Fair Play. Costs for their new stadium equate to around £72m a year. However, the increased rate of operational costs is not something the club can sustain without getting back into the Champions League. Last season, Spurs finished two points behind Aston Villa, who took the final Champions League berth. The club also socred the lowest number of goals out of the top seven clubs. Put simply, they need more firepower. Richarlison may have been the club's second top scorer last season, but 12 goals isn't enough, not when he remains in the top six earners at the club.

Although Richarlison in the past has remained defiant about remaining at the club, taking to Instagram to say how he is not looking to move, club chairman Daniel Levy is not someone who is used to things not going according to plan, and if the club want to sell him, they will - it would be a prudent move given the reported fee teams are willing to pay.

£68m Star 'Not Close' to Move Amid Spurs and Man City Interest

Highlights

Eberechi Eze is no closer to leaving Crystal Palace despite interest from Man City and Tottenham Hotspur.

He has a £68million release clause, though Olise's sale could lead to Eze's departure with the bulk of the squad under interest.

Eze may benefit from another season at Palace before considering a move to a top club like Man City.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have both registered their interest in signing Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze this summer after an outstanding campaign in the top-flight, according to reports - but Michael Bridge has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT that the Eagles hero is 'no closer' to a move away from Selhurst Park this summer - claiming that he may be best off serving the south London outfit for another season just yet.

Eze enjoyed a superb season that saw him called into the England team for EURO 2024, and some impressive performances on the national stage saw the Three Lions venture all the way to the final where they were beaten by Spain in the dying minutes of normal time in Berlin. Nonetheless, plaudits have fallen Eze's way; though Bridges has claimed that a move away is no closer just yet.

Eberechi Eze Has Been Linked With Palace Exit

The midfielder has notified England's top clubs of his talents

Eze was linked with a move to Manchester City last summer, but those links were quashed with the Eagles wanting £70million for his services after a stellar campaign at Selhurst Park.

Another superb season, however, saw him break his goalscoring record for the South London club in the Premier League with 11 strikes, and with Palace firing on all cylinders under Oliver Glasner, they were primed for a big season next time out.

However, Michael Olise's sale means that the spine of their attacking team is starting to be torn apart; and Eze could be next. He reportedly has a £68million release clause, and that has seen Tottenham take an interest alongside Desire Doue - though there is nothing doing just yet.

Bridges: Another Palace Season "Would do Eze Good"

The midfielder has full freedom in south London

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, Bridge stated that whilst there was interest from the 'Big Six' duo in Eze's services, there is nothing as of yet - and that the midfielder could be best off staying at Selhurst Park. He said:

"There's nothing forward in terms of [Eberechi] Eze. I know I've seen reports about Manchester City if Kevin de Bruyne was to leave, but Pep Guardiola has come out and said that's not happening. I know Tottenham like Eze, but my understanding is that there is nothing close for anything in terms of him.

"He hasn't - as it stands - come out and said he wants to move. Perhaps another season at Palace might do him some good, being the key player there, and then see where he goes with the De Bruyne's and other key players maybe leaving top clubs.

"Son Heung-min is getting a year older, and maybe just one more season at Palace would do him some good."

Eberechi Eze Would Have Big Shoes to Fill

Kevin de Bruyne is a World-Class Star

There will be some big shoes to fill if Eze does join City as Kevin de Bruyne's replacement.

The Belgian has registered 68 goals and 113 assists for City in the Premier League in just 257 games, and although the Belgian will have been helped out by world-class stars who are capable of winning titles across the pitch at the Etihad Stadium, he is a top player who will be remembered worldwide for decades to come for his efforts at City.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Eberechi Eze has 26 goals and 15 assists in just 112 Premier League games.

Eze has talent from set-pieces and excels at dribbling, but De Bruyne is generational. Whether Pep Guardiola can unlock that in the south London born star is another question, but there would perhaps be quite a fall off in talent when it comes to replacing the 105-cap Belgian - and with Phil Foden likely to start in the hole, him and Eze could alternate from the wings to operate in central roles.

Tottenham Signing Midfielder is a 'Possibility'

Highlights

Tottenham could sign a new midfielder after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's departure.

Inconsistency in midfield last season for Ange Postecoglu's side highlights their need for depth in this position.

Spurs are seeking an additional wide player to complement Son Heung-Min, and allow the South Korean to be deployed centrally.

Tottenham could sign a new midfielder this summer, after losing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Marseille, as well as another forward player, journalist Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT.

Hojbjerg completed a loan switch to the south of France earlier this week, in a deal that includes an obligatory purchase clause of £17 million. The transfer leaves Ange Postecoglou with just Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur as senior deep midfield options that are expected to remain in North London.

The likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Oliver Skipp are linked with moves away and are both expected to not be at the club come the beginning of September. Thus, the addition of a central midfielder could become more neccessary, and Romano hasn't ruled out such a signing, as well as a likely further forward acquisition.

Romano: Spurs Could Sign a New Midfielder

The likes of Eze and McTominay have been linked

In what was a largely settled side in defensive and forward areas last season, Spurs arguably suffered from inconsistency in the middle of the park. None of their midfield players started more than 26 Premier League games, with the likes of Sarr, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Bentancur and James Maddison all sharing minutes.

Postecoglou may look to rectify this in the transfer market, by bringing a staple midfield signing to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium this summer. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Romano revealed that following Hojbjerg's exit, an addition in this area could be on the cards:

"It is a possibility for Tottenham to bring in a new midfielder after Hojbjerg's exit, I still think that they want to do something in the offensive position."

Leicester are reportedly trying to sign Skipp, while Lo Celso supposedly has a '90% chance' of leaving the Lillywhites in this window. If both sales are to materialise, Postecoglou will be left with a somewhat depleted midfield cohort, sparking the need for further depth.

A marquee signing may not even be on the agenda, rather merely an extra body. Scott McTominay has been linked, although recent reports suggest that Tottenham aren't pursuing the Manchester United player. Meanwhile, reported target Eberechi Eze is said to favour a switch to Manchester City.

Romano: Spurs Want Another Wide Player

The club are keen to supplement Son Heung-Min

Despite already landing Timo Werner on another loan deal and closing in on a deal to sign winger Min-Hyuk Yang, Spurs are in the market for another offensive acquisition, according to Romano. Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist revealed:

"So after Timo Werner and despite the youngsters they can bring in, Bryan Gil is expected to leave to Girona. But in general, I think they will do something in the offensive positions. This is the idea, one more offensive player, one more talented player."

It's understood that Postecoglou is eager to liberate captain Son Heung-Min to play predominantly down the middle next season, having scored a majority of his 17 league goals in 2023/24 centrally. In order to do this, another effective wide player to compete with the likes of Werner, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson is expected to be added, alongside Yang.

The North London outfit have reportedly identified Federico Chiesa as a potential option to fill this role, and are preparing a bid to beat Chelsea to his signing.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in both Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto.

Eze has a release clause worth around £60m, while Neto is valued at £60m.

Desire Doue has also been considered, but Spurs feel there is too much competition.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze and Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto, sources have told GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs are looking to add another attacking talent to their ranks ahead of the 2024/2025 season, with Ange Postecoglou's side likely to prioritise a Premier League-proven player. Eze and Neto are being eyed by the north London outfit, while youngster Desire Doue has also been considered.

After failing to qualify for Champions League football last term, reinforcements will be necessary if they want to finish in the top four.

Eberechi Eze Admired by Tottenham

He has a release clause in his contract

Sources have confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eze is admired by Tottenham's recruitment team. So far, the Eagles have remained hopeful that they could keep hold of Eze this summer with no contact over a potential transfer at the moment.

The England international has a £60m plus £8m in add-ons release clause, which has so far put off any potential suitors. It's understood that Tottenham know they have no room for negotiation and therefore are yet to commit to a deal.

Tottenham are hoping to bring in a creator with Premier League pedigree, with Wolves' Neto also a player who they have a long-term interest in. Liverpool are also interested in the Portuguese attacker, who is valued at around £60m by Wolves.

Despite the £60m valuation, GIVEMESPORT sources understand that there could be some wiggle room when negotiating around the asking price and the payment structure that could be put in place. Tottenham are eyeing three transfers before the end of the summer window, and they are keeping their cards close to their chest.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Eberechi Eze has 26 goals and 15 assists in the Premier League in just 112 games.

Desire Doue Considered but a Deal is Proving Difficult

There are doubts over Dejan Kulusevski

Sources have confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that Rennes youngster Doue has also been considered by the Tottenham recruitment team. Spurs were hoping that showing a pathway to the first-team would help convince the young talent to move to the north London club, but a deal has proved difficult so far.

Tottenham believe that there is too much competition for his signature, with a host of other sides interested. There have also been doubts about Dejan Kulusevski at Spurs, which have been growing for a few months.

Ranking the 9 Best Tottenham Centre-Backs Ever

Highlights

Tottenham's motto 'to dare is to do' focuses on attacking, but they've still had legendary centre-backs over the years.

Tottenham's defensive legacy includes players like Gary Mabbutt, Graham Roberts, and Jan Vertonghen.

Mike England, Harry Clarke, and other lesser-known defenders have also made significant contributions to Spurs over the years.

Tottenham Hotspur's motto, Audere est facere, which translates to 'to dare is to do' in English, has been the building block for the club ever since its creation. It's all about passion, belief and a non-stop attacking intensity which sends the opposition into a spiral. Defensive managers Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho both struggled to win over fans due to their perceived 'negativity' on the pitch.

However, despite Spurs often focusing on attacking and dreaming, they have had countless world-class centre-backs play for them over the years. Maybe they are not considered the greatest players of all time, potentially not even the best centre-backs ever, but they won over the Spurs faithful with their aggressive tackles and celebrations.

When trophies are so hard to come by in Tottenham's case, the least they wanted is defenders who 'explode' once they perform a stunning slide tackle. Several players have over the years — and due to this, we have ranked the nine greatest Tottenham centre-backs of all time. From the modern day to the 1950s, it spans the best years of the club.

Ranking Factors

Importance to team - If they were seen as a key player, they have been ranked higher.

Longevity - Spurs had several players who failed to make the list as other stars shone for a longer period of time.

Clean Sheets and goals conceded - If they performed well statistically, they have been included on the list.

Mike England might not be the most well-known name on this list, but he had a career most can only dream of. He signed for Spurs from Blackburn Rovers at the start of the 1966/67 season and, the following May, they won the FA Cup, beating bitter rivals Chelsea 2-1 in the final.

A handful of years later, he continued to rack up the silverware by winning the League Cup in 1971 and 1973, whilst tasting European success with the UEFA Cup in between. England proved to be the missing link in the Tottenham defence, as his strength and composure in the backline proved crucial.

Cristian Romero is one of the best centre-backs in the world. The dark side of his game is a reckless, hot-headed and frantic Argentine who struggles to control his emotions, but the other side is a maturing centre-back who reads the game to perfection. His dark side is slowly ending, as the former Juventus centre-back learns to be an experienced figure in the backline. Even when he is composed, the Argentine still races into stunning and aggressive slide tackles. Attackers always know what to expect, but they can very rarely get past it. With Romero signalling his love for the club, he might move up this list very quickly.

Just like England, Harry Clarke is a trip into history. He was Spurs' centre-back in the 1951 title-winning side, as they finished four points clear of Manchester United to taste national success for the first time. Clarke initially joined in 1949, and over the next seven seasons, he went on to make nearly 300 appearances. Spurs were famous for the tactics 'push and run' at the time — and Clarke was a key figure in that, particularly as his dominance in the air allowed the Lilywhites to consistently win the ball. He retired in 1956 to take up a role in the coaching department, cementing his legacy at the club.

Maurice Norman sadly passed away at the end of 2022, leading to an emotional moment for the defender at Spurs' next match. It allowed everyone to realise just how important he was, with the older fans reminiscing about his importance for the club. He signed for Tottenham Hotspur in November 1955 for a £28,000 transfer fee from Norwich, before remarkably staying at White Hart Lane for 11 years until 1965. He was an integral part of Bill Nicholson's double-winning Tottenham team of the 1960/1961 season that went on to retain the FA Cup in 1962 and win the Cup Winners' Cup in 1963.

During the greatest years under Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino, Toby Alderweireld was a staple figure. The Belgian joined Spurs from Atletico Madrid — and, even then, he was expected to be a transformational defensive figure. He did exactly that, as he helped Tottenham to regularly finish in the top four places, even competing for the title in 2016 and 2017. Alderweireld played a major role in the club reaching the 2019 Champions League final. They didn't win it, and the Belgian failed to win a single trophy in N17, but his elegance and composure made him one of the best Belgians in Premier League history.

"Super Jan" was a fan favourite at White Hart Lane throughout his eight-year spell, with the Belgian proving to be one of the best centre-backs in the world. In truth, Jan Vertonghen was Alderweireld's partner in crime. They were almost impossible to split on the pitch, as their communication and personal dynamic helped Spurs form one of the best defences in the world.

In a high line, Vertonghen had the pace and composure to rarely look in danger. Some of his most iconic moments came at full-back, including a Champions League Round of 16 match against Borussia Dortmund in 2019, where he registered a goal and an assist from the position.

Moving back through the decades, in 1980, Graham Roberts joined Tottenham from Weymouth for £35,000. That might have sounded like a quiet transfer at the time, but it quickly proved to be one of Spurs' smartest transfers ever. Roberts was a member of the impressive Tottenham side of the early 1980s, winning the FA Cup in 1981 and 1982.

Epitomising his talent, with Steve Perryman suspended, Roberts captained the side as Tottenham won the 1984 UEFA Cup, scoring in the second leg of the final against Anderlecht. His ability to step up and take leadership duties in the biggest match of the season is why he is ranked high on this list.

In the same era at Roberts, Gary Mabbutt made a name for himself at Spurs — and he is now considered a club legend. He joined Tottenham in 1982 from Bristol Rovers, and within two years, he won the UEFA Cup, before captaining them to victory in the 1991 FA Cup Final. However, it wasn't all plain sailing for him.

In the 1987 FA Cup Final against Coventry City, he scored to put Spurs 2-1 ahead, but, in extra time, he scored an own-goal to give the Midlands side a 3-2 victory. It was heartbreak for Mabbutt. However, loyalty is one of the most important things in football; Mabbutt had it in abundance over 16 years in N17.

Finally, Ledley King has been ranked as Tottenham's greatest centre-back of all time. As an aggressive, powerful and determined centre-back, he brought world-class talent to Spurs' faltering backline at the time. Even Thierry Henry, one of the greatest French players of all time, said he was the toughest defender to play against.

King helped Spurs win the Carling Cup in 2008, his only trophy with them, but his career always had a case of what if. He missed countless matches through injury, but the chant "Oh, Ledley, Ledley, he's only got one knee, he's better than John Terry, Oh Ledley, Ledley" sums him up perfectly — a legend in every sense.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Ledley King missed over 100 games through knee injuries throughout his career.

Bryan Gil Advancing to Final Stages of Tottenham Exit

Bryan Gil's move from Tottenham to Girona is advancing to it's final stages

Gil has struggled to make an impact in England, and Spurs are eager to move him on to create space in their squad for further signings.

Tottenham are eyeing Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto in a double swoop.

Negotiations between Girona and Tottenham over a deal for Bryan Gil are advancing to the final stages, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Gil has endured a turbulent period in north London since his arrival in 2021, experiencing underwhelming stints at both Valencia and Sevilla, while struggling to establish himself in the Lilywhites' first team. The 23-year-old is understood not to be a part of Ange Postecoglou's plans, and thus the winger is being allowed to leave this summer.

Girona have emerged as the most likely suitor in recent days, with Romano revealing that the player is desperate to join the Spanish club. While the details of the move are yet be formalised, he's expected to complete the switch imminently, in a move that will open a vacancy in Spurs' squad which they'll likely look to fill in the transfer market.

Gil Close to Girona Move

The wide man has struggled for opportunities in England

Emerging from Sevilla's academy, Gil had been tipped as one of the most exciting young talents in European football when he joined Tottenham in 2021 for £21.6 million, in a deal that involved Erik Lamela going the other way. However, after three years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Spaniard has struggled to make a significant impact, making just 43 appearances for the North London outfit.

Loan spells at Valencia and Sevilla have not seen much more success, with the creative winger now set to depart the club. With West Ham displaying interest in Artem Dovbyk and Savio joining Manchester City, Girona are in the market for attacking reinforcements and have identified Gil, who Harry Redknapp once described as "brilliant" as the perfect candidate to replace the quality they may lose.

Writing on X, Romano provided an upgrade in regard to La Liga's 2023/24 surprise package's pursuit of the Spurs winger, claiming that the deal is advancing:

Gil's departure could free up space for Tottenham to reinvest in their wide attacking areas. Postecoglou is eager to liberate captain Son Heung-Min to be used purely as a central striker, with the South Korean scoring the bulk of his 17 goals down the middle in the 2023/24 campaign. To do this, the Australian is looking at adding another winger who can push the likes of Timo Werner, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson.

Spurs Looking at Signing Duo

Eze and Neto are wanted

The volume of links with wide forwards would indeed suggest Postecoglou is following this line of thinking. The Middlesex side are reportedly plotting a sensational double swoop worth upwards of £128 million for Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto.

While Eze has predominantly been used in more central roles, he's also been sporadically deployed out wide. The Crystal Palace man has a £68 million release clause, which Postecoglou is eager to activate. Meanwhile, Wolves have supposedly reduced their asking price for Neto to somewhere in the region of £60 million, due to his persistent knee injuries.

Tottenham are exploring several targets as they look to improve their forward line this summer

Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto are among the names under consideration

Tottenham are looking to make one further addition before the transfer deadline

Tottenham Hotspur are eager to bolster their attacking ranks this summer and Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto are among several names under consideration, journalist Fabrizio Romano has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

Ange Postecoglou is about to enter his second season in charge of the North London club having secured a fifth placed finish and Europa League football last term. The season prior, Spurs finished eighth in the standings and outside of European football altogether.

This summer, Spurs have made two new additions so far and both have been in midfield. 18-year-old Archie Gray joined from Championship side Leeds United, while Lucas Bergvall, also 18, signed from Swedish side Djurgardens.

Spurs ‘Interested’ in Several Forwards

Eze and Neto are among those under consideration

Daniel Levy and Postecoglou want to add attacking reinforcements to the squad before the transfer deadline on August 30. According to Romano, several names are under consideration at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Crystal Palace star Eze, who was part of England’s Euro 2024 squad, is among them and has a £68m release clause. Pedro Neto, currently at Wolves and who would cost £60m+ according to GIVEMESPORT sources, is also an intriguing option and is a target for a handful of Premier League clubs this summer.

Both players have been called 'sensationa' - Neto by Scott Minto and Eze by London News Online.

Romano told GIVEMESPORT:

“Tottenham are exploring the market and are exploring several possibilities at the moment. Still, no name is imminent, but there is interest in several players, like Eze at Crystal Palace and Pedro Neto at Wolves, who has many admirers in the Premier League.

“Tottenham want to do something in the offensive positions and I think it could be soon because their idea is to add one more player for Ange Postecoglou.”

Emerson Royal ‘Edges Closer’ to Spurs Exit

AC Milan are keen on the defender

AC Milan remain in contact with Tottenham over a move for 25-year-old defender Emerson Royal, according to recent reports in Italy. The Brazil international has two years left on the contract he signed upon his arrival back in 2021.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the two clubs are edging closer to an agreement for the player and confidence is growing that a deal can be reached. Royal joined Spurs from La Liga giants Barcelona in 2021, and he’s made 101 appearances across all competitions so far.

He began his senior career in his homeland, Brazil, having previously represented the likes of Sao Paulo, Ponte Preta and Atletico Mineiro. He made the move to Europe in 2019, and he moved in a deal which consisted of a joint financial operation between Barcelona and Real Betis.

Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering making a move for Federico Chiesa after Juventus have set their sights on bagging a fee instead of risking him becoming a free agent.

Premier League counterparts Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United have been keeping tabs on the Italy international as well.

Chiesa has been identified by Tottenham as a cheaper alternative to Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto as they also continue monitoring Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

Tottenham Hotspur are ahead of a host of Premier League rivals in the race for Federico Chiesa as the north Londoners have shown an increased level of interest in the Juventus star as boss Ange Postecoglou aims to add another attacking influence to his Hotspur Way squad, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Having already wrapped up the signing of Swedish teenager Lucas Bergvall before the transfer window reopened, Spurs negotiated a fresh loan deal which includes an £8.5million purchase option with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig for Timo Werner after a productive initial spell.

Archie Gray has also arrived in a deal worth up to £30million from Leeds United after technical director Johan Lange and chairman Daniel Levy have been overseeing Tottenham's recruitment drive, but Postecoglou is in the market for further reinforcements ahead of the August 30 deadline.

Spurs Showing More Interest in Chiesa Than Premier League Counterparts

Italian's representatives looking for potential landing spots

Tottenham is a potential destination for Chiesa as the capital club have shown more interest than Premier League rivals Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United, according to GMS sources, despite the quintet also being made aware of his situation at Juventus.

The Italy international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz Stadium, which allows him to pocket close to £150,000-per-week, and the Serie A heavyweights are prepared to cash in due to fears of him leaving as a free agent at the end of the upcoming campaign.

GMS sources have been informed that Tottenham have pinpointed Chiesa as a more affordable option than fellow targets Eberechi Eze and Pedro Neto, who are facing uncertain futures at Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, while his experience and goalscoring record are attractive despite concerns over his history with injuries.

Juventus will entertain bids as low as £21million as new head coach Thiago Motta does not want to work with members of the squad who are refusing to be fully committed to his project, while the 26-year-old's representatives have been working on identifying potential landing spots for the past month after opting against renewing his contract.

Although GMS sources have learned that Tottenham are still contemplating whether to offer Chiesa a route out of Juventus by lodging a formal bid, his versatility means he could feature as a creative forward or through the middle, and he already has an existing understanding with former teammates Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

North Londoners Keeping Tabs on Gimenez

Feyenoord striker caught scouts' eye with goals return last season

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham have continued keeping tabs on Gimenez after the Feyenoord frontman caught the attention of scouts with his goalscoring exploits last season, but they have not escalated their interest since the transfer window reopened for business last month.

Although the Mexico international found the back of the net 26 times in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign, his form dropped off after bagging 13 goals in his first nine Eredivisie outings, resulting in Spurs choosing to avoid the temptation of rushing into agreeing terms for his signature.

There is still potential for Gimenez to leave Feyenoord as intermediaries are aiming to discover where genuine interest lies, GMS sources understand, and Tottenham collated detailed reports on how he would fit into Postecoglou's system after he was among the names at the top of the list of targets at the turn of the year.

The north Londoners also have Viktor Gyokeres, of Primeira Liga heavyweights Sporting, and Lille's Jonathan David on their shortlist as they go in search of an out-and-out striker ahead of the new season getting underway, but no contact has been made with their current employers.

Ivan Toney is being targeted as well, but GMS sources recently revealed that the Brentford marksman is holding out for a salary worth up to £250,000-per-week if he embarks on a fresh challenge, and Tottenham are at risk of facing competition from Manchester United if his price tag drops below £40million.
